It comes down to playstyle. Other teams dont need to play with so high intensity to be good. When we try to calm down we just look out of our depth.

Sounds great that we have money to spend this summer without sellinh players. Guess it makes sense when we are getting the earlier seasons after PIFs entry off the books.

Talk of how we are doing compared to x and how many points we are below/above x spot goes both ways like. Eddie should just be based on our own performance imo, ie how many points we get. Think we are just about were we are should be in the league, with 1 fantastic cup run and one disappointing one. Slightly concerning that we have looked rather poor for the most part expect for that one insane month tbh.

From what i remember the extra game was almost automatic if the appeal got turned down.

Know it used to be that they added 1 extra game if the appeal had no grounds.

He has done alot more for us this season than what could be expected from him. Not his fault we dont have anyone else above him in the pecking order. The hate against him is just ugly.

Our squad couldnt have been that fucking shit when Steve Bruce managed to keep us in the Premier league like. To me atleast its obvious than a couple of managers have gotten more out of their squad than Eddie this season, but its also a little unfair to just compare him to managers that has overachieved. Cant expect him to deserve manager of the year every season. For me we are around where we could expect to end up if we are looking at average points pr game.

Hard to give anything but a E to a 33 year old striker who has scored 3 goals in 16 months. Would probably still give him a pay when you play contract if he was interested. If stars align and he stays fit I think he still could be decent after getting match fit. Fantastic striker at his best.

Arguing that it should get overturned because he was just unlucky that he hit his head is quite something. Humans have actually got pretty good control of their body movements, especially athletes. If we are going to set a precedent that people were just unlucky for hitting/kicking someone a certain place then that could be applied to pretty much every challenge.

No matter how we would have ended up there, i dont disagree that the FB signings would have been perfectly fine IF we also could get a adequate squad in place.

If by win you mean everyone agreeing with what they are doing then no, obviously not. I need to correct myself a little though, my preffered strategy would have probably been selling some of our bigger players to finance a larger squad. Wouldnt have to go for the cheaper ones then.

I wouldnt have used all the money for a RW. Rather the opposite i would have bought alot more cheaper signings. The last two season our squad depth have been what has been dragging us down. Either through players getting fatigued or that replacements for injured players just werent the quality needed.

Im not passing judgement on the individual transfers, but on the overall strategy. At the time i was all for the signings though, but i didnt know that it would put us in this position.

Probably missed an oppurtunity to sell someone after that season yeah. No idea if we had any offers though. Not selling Trippier last January was definitely a mistake imo. Meant £40m each btw, but was maybe £30m for Hall?

Without looking at how the signings worked out in retrospect, id say £40m on two young talented fullbacks and £40m for a backup LW was not the right move considering our lack of squad depth and the position we have gotten into the last few transfer windows.

How much are these guys saying that we have available in the summer? With the way FFP works selling players for profit gives us alot of room to work with in the short term.

Which accounts are you looking at? We just had to sell a player in a squad that was very small to begin with. Sure we probably will get some more room to work with after this season is over, but surely not enough to do the squad overhaul we need without additional "ffp funds" from selling players.
