General play picked up quite a bit. Still look vulnerable at the back and toothless up front though. -

This can get so ugly, they will be motivated to keep going after what happened last. -

You don't think starting the two who has scored 11/16 of i our CL goals would make a difference? What is this? -

I get that they need to rest, but I don't get resting Gordon and Barnes at the same time. And i don't get resting Gordon in the CL where he is actually good. Was a perfect oppurtunity to rest Gordon against Villa and let Barnes be LW. -
Always felt short of atleast one LB. Also remember thinking at the time that we needed another CM, but not sure anymore now that Miley has taken that next step up.
-
Did we really fill out the squad? We did let go of Kelly, Longstaff, Wilson and Targett remember. Even forgot about the rat lol
-
Can't really buy first team players in January unless you are City.
-
I'm still in the camp of lets give him some more time. Has only started games for us a month after he came back from injury. Would just be natural to need some time to build up sharpness and connection with the other players.
-
So we have 9 healthy players competing for 7 spots now? And of those: Trippier just returned from injury and doesn't have the legs to play 90mins, let alone 2 games a week. Burn just returned from injury. Botman just returned from injury. Lewis Hall has played 14 games in two months after returning from injury. Thiaw, Tonali and Bruno has played A LOT of minutes for club and country this season. Ramsey isn't being trusted. No warning sign here guys, will be just fine without any additions this window.

Feel like it would be hard to involve Woltemade in this game, should be better suited for Wissa's runs on the counter? Not that he has been looking that great lately either. -

Something has happened, he has turned shit. But I don't have high hopes at Anfield regardless of the circumstances. -
Every game left is important and hard. There are no free wins were we can rest our best players and still expect to win comfortably. The logic is pretty simple. Fit and healthy players are better than fatigued and injured ones. Playing our best team every game is just so short-sighted with the schedule we got. PSG(a), Liverpool(a), City(a), Brentford (h), Tottenham (a) and Villa (a) coming up next with games every 3-4 days. None of those games are more appropriate to rest players than Villa at home. Well I would say City in the league cup, but we all know that isn't going to happen.
-
Both goals was a result of poor defensive display. Hard to pinpoint who exactly was at fault, just didn't function as a unit. Was quite a size of the open space we left in our box for their 2nd.
-
It may be our last chance to give it a go in the CL for quite a while. Insane that we aren't getting in anyone. We are a Lewis Hall injury away from being in total shambles. With him starting 14 games in under 2 months shortly after returning from injury it sure wouldn't come as a surprise if he did get injured again. He needs relief, and Burn at LB ain't it. One thing is that he is not a LB, another is that he is the only CB cover we got. CB could also easily be a position that burns us(pun intented) unless a miracle happen with Botman staying injury free long term. Thiaw could probably have use of some rotation aswell.

Nearly all transfers are going to come out favourably when you compare them to Isak's
-
I don't think getting a few squad players ahead of a CL campaign is a bad thing in itself. We just paid way too much for them. Hopefully the player contracts doesn't reflect the transfer fees.

It's impossible to please everyone. So what? There are still a right way to do things and a wrong way.
