Go on then...Rate the January 2026 Transfer Window
Displayname replied to Shays Given Tim Flowers's topic in Football
They must have had problems without even taking their january spending into consideration then. Trippier is finished. Tino is injured. Krafth is injured. Miley is a midfielder and should be used there, giving some much needed rotation for Tonali and Bruno. Burn is one of 3 fit CBs, he seriously can't be considered cover for FB where he also is a huge liability. Sure Tino and Krafth may come back, but our season will already be over by then. -

I'm not suggesting that we should have gone on a spending spree like, it wouldn't have to cost that much to replace Trippier with someone better and give Lewis Hall some much needed cover. -

It was enough for them to compete for a spot in the CL and to compete it the CL itself, nearly reaching the Semi-finals. It's just faulty result-oriented thinking talking about anything else. It was clearly worth the risk for them. And the impact it had on their summer isn't that relevant to us. We had room to spend, especially on loan signings. -
So any loan signings we would have done now would have no impact? And still we didn't?

Need to find new people then. -
Yeah with this in mind I also wouldn't budge if I were Liverpool. Good chance it's also a bluff by Emery and that he will have to play him and fullfill the obligation if he can't get it renegotiated.
-
I've given up hope that he will turn around this season basically. Ordered a new dose of optimism set to arrive before the start of next season.

We saw how Aston Villa signing/loaning a few players last January gave them the energy/optimism needed to finish the season the way they did. Something is seriously broken at this club if we couldn't find anyone to give us a similar injection. Can't comprehend how it could happen and how anyone can defend it. -
Tottenham Hotspur vs. Newcastle United: 10/2/26 @ 19:30 (TNT Sport)

Looks to be in a pretty similar spot as us. Might actually get something here. -
Tino has always been at his best at LB, so would rather prefer that we bought a RB instead if Hall was to be moved to the midfield. And for the love of god lets not rely on Burn being a cover at LB please. Aging up isn't going to improve his speed which has already showned to be a massive liability at LB.

Thought you were fond of context.

No idea what you are trying to say here. But my "mad" post was only a response to someone coming with that claim in a Keegan vs Howe discussion.
-
But it's not mad to say that Keegan will only remembered as a failure outside of Newcastle? Some of you guys are weird.
-
You honestly think that Eddie will be remembered for winning the Carabao cup (outside Newcastle)?
-
I'd play Aaron Ramsdale ahead of Trippier at RB. But ofcourse, what should have been done was to get in another defender in January. And on top of that calling Targett back from loan. Eddie left himself in a bit of a pickle now that we didn't.

Kieran Trippier: to join Wolves on a free (various)

Murphy has played ok there before. Not optimal for sure, but we just can't keep going on with this massive liability. -
The signs were clearly there before Wissa started playing.
-
I'm afraid we got another Papiss Cisse on our hands, just without him having his purple period with us. But I'm also of the mind that we maybe shouldn't dismiss him too quickly considering the general state of our team. But if neither Woltemade or Wissa picks up their form considerably the next few months one of them has to leave and we have to get another striker in the summer.
-
Last player I'd want to lose, in form he is our best player. Sure not right now, but everything is a mess atm and he has played way too much this season.
-
Don't see him ever fitting Eddie football tbh. Neither can live while the other one survives with us. If he has a good showing at the world cup we can probably get most of our money back.

He is trying to adapt, look at him giving acres of space to the Brentford player for their 2nd because he knows that if he gets too close he will just get passed. You just can't have a FB being that slow, there is no adapting. -
Or some has played way to much. With very few exceptions Thiaw and Tonali has played twice a week since the start of the season, Hall since he came back from injury. Thats going to have an impact.
