I don't want to make excuses for the lad before he has even signed, but I dare say you put Guehi into a side like City, Liverpool, Arsenal, or Spurs then he'd also look miles better as well with the reduced work load compared to what he has had to deal with at Palace. Also, I love Schar, but putting him (and even Botman) above Guehi is likely our Newcastle bias.

Aye. Pretty sure at this stage this happens. For whatever reason our transfers always seem to move this slowly once they get to this point. People just forget this weird few day long phase where it breaks that it's close, only to go quiet for a few days. Happened with Tonali last Summer. I'd hazard a guess that our FFP/PSR situation means we have to do a lot more negotiation around deal structures.

Hopefully see some sort of update on this today.

Rabiot would be a pretty flagrant breach of the 'no dickheads' policy. We're fine with on-field dickheads, but the amount of shite that comes with Rabiot just isn't worth it.

Yeah, think that's what it is. Ultimately there's many ways to be creative. Can slide a pass through a defence, or can run into the box at pass and force a pen or pass the ball across the face. Are some more aesthetically pleasing? Totally. But you can't argue with Gordon's effectiveness.

I would say RIP Will, but these ITK accounts seem to be made of teflon. People will be sharing his stuff again as soon as he starts posting it.

Are you saying none of us pass the eye test??

This is tough.. I know it's unfashionable and wouldn't work in this day and age. But for simplicity I'm going 4-4-2. Feel like it's a mix of head and heart. Given Trippier Schar Colo Jose Enrique Solano Lee Bruno Ginola Shearer Isak (Honourable mentions: Pav, Albert, Burn, Speed, Ferdinand, Cabeye)

I can see 60m plus performance (team and player related) add-ons bringing it to a potential 70m if all are met. Palace get to say it's 70m, we take the smaller hit on the books this Summer.

Given the source he's nailed on for Liverpool.

F365 used to be THE football site up till about 5/6 years ago. Absolutely dropped off a cliff since then.

Can we not bring the twitter trend of just saying stuff like it's true, without actually providing any kind of information to back up what you've said, onto the forum.
-
Just as an aside, this tweet highlights a big issue I have with these accounts that act as news aggregators. They make one minor change to the actual story, and it completely changes things. When you read the article it mentions that talks 'may have' been going on in parallel to the Guehi talks. Goes out in this tweet as talks 'have taken place in parallel..' NUFC360 isn't the worst for it, that goes to that gallowgate account who turned whatever Lee Ryder mentioned about Guehi on Saturday into basically 'a fee is agreed, it's just talks over payment structure'.
-
Between these two specifically I think I'd still go Guehi. £60m is a lot, but he is far more sure of thing. Been playing well in PL for a few seasons now, and stepped up at international level and likely made the spot his own.

Players that were actually decent for us that are totally forgotten

Daniel Cordone was class for the first 3/4 games of the 00/01 season. -
We're all going to look pretty stupid next week when Mitchell shows up for some media interviews with beaming white teeth and a full head of hair.
-
Likewise. He can sometimes prompt an eye roll from me, but I'd much prefer posts like his over someone coming in dropping a one line reply saying they think x player is shite etc without at least explaining why they may think that. That being said I love a well thought out joke, and @Interpolic stat bomb chart for TCD is one of the funniest forum posts I've seen in ages.

Jesus Christ, lads. Chillout, it's Saturday morning.

This was genuinely very funny.

Chelsea are the real obvious ones. Doesn't matter that they have about 36 of them already.
-
I ultimately don't see this happening, but it at least should give the doubters/worriers enough of a sign that club is trying to make big moves this window.

Whilst I would normally agree wholeheartedly with the 'standing still is going backwards' sentiment, I think our squad next season maybe the exception. The Tonali and injury situation was such that last season I can't think of many/any games we could field a full strength 11. We started pretty strong, albeit with out Willock. But it was all downhill from there.

An actual success. My first successful ballot entry since Fulham last season. 1/2 When I select seats on Friday is that the usual random queue type thing? Going with the father who can't manage level 7 these days.
