For better or worse, it will absolutely be Watkins next. To be honest I'm shocked we haven't made a move already.
-
Nah, but he is on a plane.
-
The longer this goes without it coming out that he has actually chosen Man U the more I think there could be another twist to this. I was expecting that if Man U bid it would come out immediately, potentially even before the bid, that he's picked them.
-
I'd have agreed with you if, immediately after the Man U bid, we got the usual suspects coming out with a definitive 'Sesko has picked Man U.' As it stands, the same sort of wording was used for them (player believed to favour move) as has been for us. Think his agent is telling both sides the same thing to draw out max wages etc for his client.
-
Took Man U making a bid for him to actually get round to mentioning our bid. So transparent who's been briefing him on this one.
-
I know it's been a rough window, but the mood swings in this thread for every new update are wild. At the moment it looks like his agent has led both clubs to believe he prefers them. We'll find out for sure now.
-
Agree, but it's what we'll do.
-
Literally no one has linked us to him outside of twitter randos and lads in here. If this does fail I'm 99% positive we move for Watkins.
-
So Man U now banking on the player turning us down, thus killing Leipzig's bidding war.
-
85 total? Aren't we 80+10 in addons. Also we're upfront, Man U will be doing their Klarna pay over 10 years type job.
-
Was there for 5 minutes, is that what he's always like??
-
Yep. I'd actually argue that Sesko & Wissa are stronger options than Isak & Wilson. Obviously don't think Sesko is at Isak's level currently, but Wissa would be such an upgrade on Wilson it would even it out. Slightly lower ceiling, much higher floor.

Dropped in on Goldbridge's show this morning. Firstly, what a knob. Secondly, the cope on the Man U side (at least from him) is strong. Bascially begging Newcastle to pull out because the player 'clearly wants us'
-
To be honest, regardless of what happens, pretty excited that we may finally be done with this today.
-
Keith is canny, but he works for Sky. This will have been doing big numbers for them. They will want to drag it out as long as they can. Even as it approaches an end.
-
A few journo's said it was the structure that was the issue last time. This may be more up front/easier to hit add-ons.
-
This is just the Sesko cycle. We spend a few days gradually having hope drained. A vaguely positive update hits, we think we've just about got him, then nothing. Rinse repeat. Wouldn't even be shocked if this is just something his camp does to keep us at the table when we threaten to walk away while they went for Man U to finish rummaging down the back of the couch.
-
Absolutely. If he does pick them it will go right up till the last day as they try to haggle Leipzig down, before finally just paying them what they want.
-
Can we just skip to the bit where he goes to Liverpool now?
-
Dundee United monitoring the situation.
-
If we sign Sesko and Wissa I can't see any way Isak will be here at the end of the window.
-
So only thing we are missing is the sell on? Just stick it on FFS.
-
Actually think Hojland is the exact warning signing a player like Sesko should be looking at. Maybe this is eventually going to change with Amorim, but the coaching (or lack of) he has received, and the general chaos is the club has completely stalled his development. Like I say, could change under Amorim. Or just as likely m Amorim is gone by Xmas.
-
Would if Romano would consider a 70m loan fee as 'heavy'.
-
Man U supposedly in for Fermin Lopez at Barca. Obviously different position, but they really can't do two 70m transfers..
