  1. I'm guessing later today/tomorrow morning we get a "Man Utd match Newcastle offer for Sesko." Then we're back to where we were before last night.
  2. If I had to guess I'd say we've had it through intermediaries that Sesko/his agent are sick of waiting for Man U to get their shit together and, whilst they still won't say they're committing one way or another, if a bid goes in from us they're happy to proceed. Part of me does worry that we're being played to smoke out a Man U bid.
  3. After the amount of times we've been shown up this Summer, there's no way we've put this bid in without a concrete indication from the player that he want's to come. Surely....
  4. Will get excited if it's still suspended tomorrow morning. Could just be one daft Newcastle fan with more money that sense dropping a massive wad.
  5. Christ, if he's saying it's not happening the lads already got a squad number.
  6. Christ, I'm not sure I can handle much more of this window. Just spent the past couple days convincing myself this kid is going to be. Premier League flop, only for this to break.
  7. Is he, though? The whole fan base wanted to sign him, but we never actually made anything close to a move.
  8. That's what I'm thinking. As soon as the Isak stuff started all the Saudi links to Nunez stopped. Now they've said they're done suddenly it starts up again.
  9. Did notice that all Saudi interest in Nunez dried up as soon as all this started. May be coincidence, but would be nice if this is the first/only time we actually benefit from the PIF owning the Saudi league.
  10. There isn't a realistic replacement for Isak. Wissa is a good first step as he could do a job as the main man for a season, allowing us to bring in a more under the radar, young striker who can bed in/compete with Wissa. Or bring in a big signing designed to be the main man, but who can be pushed/be brought out of the firing line for Wissa.
  11. I don't know, pal. You're the one who spends your online time posting in the forum of a team you don't support.
  12. I feel it will go in more extreme swings. As soon as he makes his first worldy save (or insane pass that leads to a goal) and starts playing about with the fans, everyone in here will love. Then it will swing the opposite direction with his first daft cock up and people will be calling for him to be sent back to Southampton.
  13. Have to say, as a relative newbie, half (more like 90% this Summer) the fun of this forum is watching the lads who've been here forever fight.
  14. In a reality where we are likely to lose Isak, there's no way we can be turning up our nose at a 19 goal PL striker in favour of a lad who has 0 PL minutes.
  15. Who has Samu actually been linked by? Because all I have seen is this article, which says we should buy him, people in here saying we should buy him, and people on twitter saying we should buy him. No actual mention as to if we're actually interested.
  16. Think it will be a very subdued announcement tomorrow afternoon.
  17. Think the whole reason he has been brought in is because he can confidently sweep, so I fucking hope he can!
  18. Beginning to think whoever made this promise on the Brentford end left themselves so wiggle room. Like "around 25 million, dependent on the rest of the striker market" etc.
  19. I'm betting Wissa's agent told us about the promise, leading to that bid. Only for Brentford to deny any agreement existed in an attempt to get more money.
  20. Believe he was promised he could leave this Summer for 25m.
  21. Downie mentioned yesterday they get 10% of any profit we make. Not of the actual transfer value.
  22. The lad scored 19 goals last season. And they weren't all tap ins either as you're suggesting.
  23. Have had a feeling for a while now that this is going to end with him signing a new deal (with a more 'friendly' release clause) and then going next Summer. People will get past this Summer. He will never be treated with quite the same love/reverence as he was last season. But once he starts scoring again people will play nice. Till next Summer anyway.
