I'd be all over that. Had a quick look at his fbref profile and #1 on his "Similar Players"? Our own silky-smooth Swedish goal machine... (thats Isak btw not Krafth)
-
His proper title is Chief Executive of Moving Leazes Terrace brick-by-brick to Beamish but they'll stick with COO publicly so as not to overcomplicate things.
-
Our "Elite" status has previously been reported by both Mark Douglas and footyheadlines themselves.
-
They've also got access to a much more global market, and the logistics to back it up. £40m might be close to break even in year one, but presumably they're hoping they can be raking it in by years four and five.
-
Yes but the article is suggesting that we're in such a hole that we'll have to flog Bruno and/or Isak on the cheap. It's not about buying more players.
-
We'll see. Easy to make positive comments about us when we're two (now one) leagues apart.
-
This doesn't make any sense. For a start, it's next season we've missed out on Europe so the shortfall would have to be made up within next seasons accounts, starting in July. Secondly, the maximum you're going to earn from the Conference League is something like £15m or so. We've got back about half of that next season already from not having Richie, Dummett and Hendrick on the wage bill. How that equates to needing a "big sale" is beyond me.
-
There's also the possibility (or probability?) that the WSL equivalent of the "Big 6" are going to want to prevent us from doing just that. The quicker we get ourselves a seat at the top table the better.

What I don't understand is how moving the PLs rules further away from UEFAs is actually going to work? So the PL bump the £105m limit to £135m but UEFA keep theirs the same so if you're hoping to regularly qualify for Europe will you actually be able to spend that extra money or will UEFA just say "Nope, sorry" and kick you out of whatever competition you've qualified for?
-
I reckon I could walk past half of the players in that team and not recognise a single one. I'm not even sure I could give you a single piece of information about Jon Mensah. Apart from the fact that he played for Sunderland. And I've only just found that out now.
-
How could he know how many chances he'd get at Chelsea when they don't even have a manager in place?
-
It did when Juventus were banned for this year's competition, their place went to Fiorentina who are playing in the final this week... (At least this is what I've read)
-
I'm sure I read that UEFA don't allow income from selling non-football-related assets (eg hotels) to count towards the FFP calculation. So even if they hadn't essentially sold it to themselves they could still be in trouble.
-
After everything we got ourselves into a position where top six was in our hands and unfortunately we blew it. That makes it even more frustrating.
-
Plenty of potential trips to Eastern Europe there. Always associate that with cheep beer and radge fans, hopefully times haven't changed too much. Unless we don't qualify, in which case I hope it's all culture and €10 pints.

Just had a look there and he's made 32+ appearances in 5 of the last 7 seasons. Best Wilson has managed for us is 31 (26, 18 and 19 in the other three seasons here).

There was a very subtle dig at him from (or via) George Caulkin on the latest podcast, suggested that he didn't have as much input on first team matters as the owners had expected/hoped and that the new "Sporting Director" would be much more focussed on the first team rather than an all-encompassing role. It had been reported that negotiations with both Bruno and Joelinton had stalled until Staveley etc. got involved. It was also telling that Staveley seemed to be leading the Gordon negotiation despite clearly being in the middle of something else, wasn't she negotiating from the back of a car on that Amazon Doc?

I'm not sure whether it's that he can't pass or that he doesn't pass because that's not what his manager wants him to do -
@Colos Short and Curlies @Toon1892 (but I want to watch)

I think clubs used to be able to do it how they wanted - might have been Derby who back-loaded the amortisation costs on the basis that a players value doesn't actually drop linearly, it drops more dramatically in the last year of their contract. Obviously that caused major problems for them down the line and I think clubs have to account for it on a linear basis now.

Any concern this may make Bruno a more viable target...?

Has a whiff of Maddison for me. Think he may end up at Atletico or another CL club. -
Am I mental to suggest I'd probably rather have Adebayo?
