  1. Looks good but what you cant see is that the socks have Alan Barnes's face on them
  2. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/06/06/pga-tour-agrees-to-merge-with-saudi-backed-rival-liv-golf.html
  3. The quality of the Castore shirts has been loads better than Puma. The designs have been pretty good too. My issue with them is their logistics, if I order a shirt in June I wouldn't be surprised if I got it just in time for Christmas.
  4. Sponsor has presumably been superimposed on as per @JonBez comesock
  5. Key quote from the Athletic article. This (and the World Cup bid to an extent) is about domestic sportswashing, rather than international (eg LIV golf, NUFC).
  6. Not that I doubt the exhaustive research that I'm sure the Sun undertook before penning that article but I'd be quite surprised if moving an asset at considerably below market value between two clubs owned by the same company wouldn't draw attention from FIFA/UEFA/whoever.
  7. I'm pretty sure there is like...
  8. He also namechecks Kephran Thuram as someone we are looking at.
  9. I assumed he would be primarily the right-sided #8 with the option of playing on the right side of the front three if needed. So it'd be him, a more defensive CM and a flexible forward to cover across the front three.
  10. I have a feeling it might play out a bit like the Isak deal, when we first approached Sociedad they wanted the release fee so we walked away. Once it became clear that their position had softened, we got the deal done quickly.
  11. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Port_Vale/Port_Vale.htm That's a fair point, they've had all sorts since they moved away from white shirts/black shorts in the early 80s.
  12. The problem is, we've only got the 21/22 accounts and estimates of the transfer fees and wages added/removed from the books since then. Plus we can only estimate turnover for the current year. So yeah if we (or whichever journalist) had up-to-date accounts then they probably could put a number on it. But we don't, so we can't.
  13. A lot of agents do a lot more than just rock up a week before a transfer window opens to chuck demands around tbf
  14. So he'd be more of a 6 to either cover Bruno or allow him to play further forward? Rather than a Maddison/Dom S type
  15. Well the study that put the number at 1bn used the term "followers" which isn't actually the same as a "fan" but that's the figure quoted.
  16. I saw a quote somewhere about them having 1bn fans globally, although they only turnover £500m or so per year so only 50p per fan per year. Make that £1 per fan per year and they're turning over £1bn/year. I'm not sure it's quite that simple but it was being used to explain the valuation given and the potential for growth even for a massive club like Man Utd.
  17. A half decent performance in Europe and a solid domestic campaign and I don't see why not, assuming we add some assets in the summer/January. West Ham are just over $1bn - do they own their stadium or do they just lease it?
  18. So about £640m - not a bad return (so far) on a £350m investment, even factoring in a £70m loss in the first full accounting year.
  19. There was a fan engagement event at SJP today, I wonder whether everyone's favourite announcer was brought up at all?
  20. Just imagine what we could do with a big plot of empty land and an unlimited budget...
  21. Eating the apple too
  22. Yeah, there's something about a nervous-looking 17-year-old boy that just doesn't do it for me but I suppose we're all into different things right?
