'The Blaydon Races' should be played pre-match and at HT for me - but that fucking awful one with the drums get to fuck. My preference would be a proper brass band doing it
-
Not sure about the ‘ceiling’ stuff - feels a bit like playing too much Champ Man. Some players develop far beyond what might have originally been anticipated - if we look at our own legends, I wonder what Keegan’s ‘ceiling’ was at 18 - a man who basically became a great player through willpower and work.
-
I thought it was a red (allowing for Diaz being an overreacting, cheating cunt), and also thought Pawson was absolutely shite and lost all control over the game generally
-
Lost as to why that’s a joke tbh. They’re accused of fraud
-
We also don’t know what the size of the ‘add-one’ are, nor the terms of them. What if it is £10m add-ons based on Guehi winning the CL and PL with us? I wouldn’t take that bet if I was Palace. We’re being made to look a bit daft here to me. It is clear that Palace have their value and aren’t going to budge. It feels like they’re doing the Bernie Mac negotiation in ‘Bad Santa’ - and we’re doing no better in the Tony Cox role
-
If our owners won’t stump up the cash then that is notable - I’d imagine it is the terms of the add-ons that are not selling the deal to Palace

His teeth are the most British thing about him

That's some 4D chess there, mind. Not sure Palace are that Machiavellian - why would a player need proof of a bid to decide what the release clause in their contract should be? The noises from the player's camp suggests he wants the move, we're onto our fourth bid, and Palace have basically stated their asking price so that we should try and meet it.

I am one of the FFP bores, and I’m also geet excited at the prospect of signing this lad for a stupendous sum of money
-
Likewise - we're already fucked on that front. It feels like offering criticism for the slow pace of commercial revenue increases leads to pelters, but there is a fucking massive brick wall looming next season. We really haven't capitalised on all available streams - and the 'they're waiting on the Man City ruling' is unconvincing - we're three years in, that's three years of lost revenues on the smaller deals. There is nothing in the rule books which would have stopped us signing 1-year commercial deals. Even the adidas one feels short-sighted - it is a five-year deal, and we might have left a lot of potential money on the table during that period.

It is hard not to love our human battering ram, and Joelinton is effective at what he does - but the weaknesses in his game remain. Gallagher would be a 15 goal a season midfielder playing for NUFC
-
It’s more like Canuck-astle online in here atm
-
I think he's a better footballer than Joelinton - and Tonali, unfortunately, remains an open question in terms of the PL
-
100% - and it is why that when we do find out the plans, then we'll know what the owners' intentions are (more than any words they can utter). A state-of-the-art super stadium would be a statement of intent
-
And if this was 2004 not 2024 then being AC Milan captain and an Italian international would be seriously impressive. It doesn't hold the same stock atm.
-
The only midfielder that we have that Gallagher wouldn't get a start ahead of is Bruno. But I doubt we'd go for him for the reasons stated by others (salary)
-
It’s got colliery mining lift wheels in the design Looks like a magic eye pattern to me
-
A temporary ground wouldn’t cost much less than a new one - PIF is an investment fund, they’re not going to pour a couple of hundred million down the drain so that NUFC supporters don’t grumble for a season or so
-
He’s not your pal, buddy
-
Yep - the ‘gloves off if Man City wins’ is wishful thinking; and even a Man City victory isn’t necessarily going to remove the FMV issues in any case.
-
Jordan has never understood how it works - he was banging on after the takeover how we could spend £800m under the rules. There’s a reason that football club ownership took the shirt off his back - you’d think the experience would have led to him being more reflective, but he’s still an arrogant know-nowt arse

I’ve been in the East Stand once in my entire life - John Anderson’s testimonial. Had STs in the Leazes and Milburn, always liked going into the Gallowgate. This also applies to pretty much every else I used to go to matches with - the East Stand is a place all of its own (And we did win vs Ando’s XI)
