  1. I still hate Cambridge Utd more than them - but you never quite get over what you dislike when you’re 10! Tbf never been on there, and I would take angry internet gobshites with a pinch of salt. The Heysel whitewashing is unpleasant and can be tone deaf given the obvious visibility of Hillsborough. But both of those events could’ve happened to any club’s supporters in the ‘80s - Leeds fans were fighting in the ground in the 1975 European Cup final. The difference was that the ground wasn’t a crumbling death trap.
  2. It’s not something I’m onboard with tbh - I could list 20 clubs without blinking that I dislike more
  3. Nee issue with wanting to beat them, nor in thinking that VvD is a cunt tbf
  4. I’ve never understood the N-O hatred of Liverpool. Scousers are the most alike people I’ve met to Geordies, always liked visiting their city (football results have tended to be shite). All successful clubs will have tiresome glory-seeking arrogant wankers attached to them - the types that think that the club they picked winning things actually says something about them as a person. When Liverpool win things I tend to shrug, in a way that I don’t with the London clubs.
  5. ‘Let me tell you, I told Yasir—Yasir, listen, you’ve got to tell Eddie Howe. He’s gotta push Bruno forward. That’s it. Push him forward, and you’ll be winning trophies. Believe me, this is how you win. If Eddie does that, and he will, because he knows, you’re gonna see results, folks. Big results!’
  6. The bloke at the top of PIF is still worse than Trump ...
  7. It never worked like that in any case. League Cup runners-up never got a European place - FA Cup runners-up did in certain circumstances.
  8. Christ, that’s grim, and depressingly unsurprising. I’d feel embarrassed if I was them - but some have zero shame.
  9. There is something utterly grim about not actually putting in the travel time and hours to get a Wembley cup final ticket and if you’ve got enough wedge being able to skip the queue. I’ve been to Wembley a few times, the result of going to SJP and trudging up and down the country every week. It felt ‘earned’. I haven’t been to SJP in years - I would feel like an imposter going to a cup final at this point. I can afford to pay for one of those daft packages - but it is a fucking travesty that they exist. Cup finals should be a reward for those who’ve actually went to games. I’ve sat on my arse watching it on TV, at this point 10,000 miles away. I just hope that everyone who deserves and wants a ticket actually gets one.
  10. I’d want the thieving cunts to spell ‘hospitality’ correctly for that price
  11. Cup double still on the agenda. I’m happy to play the reserves in every remaining league match if we go for both cups. I’d give my right bollock for the League Cup - but I’d rip off someone else’s right bollocks and spend years in the nick as a result for an FA Cup
  12. And also - of course that would be the first reply #obsessed
  13. NUFC in a cup final can only mean that: There’s panic on the streets of sunderland… Panic on the pages of RTG …
  14. Against the better sides - maybe. But I think that Howe used to counter Arsenal’s set piece play as much as their general play. It’s a very defensive set up so it wouldn’t help against teams who come to defend.
  15. Absolute Howe masterclass that mind. Arsenal could’ve had another two legs and not scored. The 5-2-3 formation worked an absolute treat. There’s a bronze statue waiting for you Eddie lad. One last hurdle to go.
  16. Because a sporting director isn’t just a transfer wonk

    Jacob Murphy

‘Who’s that lad in black and white who the fans give loads of shite that’s Jacob Murphy’ Probably need to rhyme the first two lines with Murphy, which could be tricky
  18. We’re in complete agreement tbh.
  19. True, and I can completely understand sentiment. Football is built on it. And of course if you like the view you’ve already got …
  20. Would I be wrong in assuming that if the new ground is built on Barrack Road with the SE corner of the new ground on the footprint of the current Leazes that it would end any issues those who wanted to stay at the current SJP had? It’s pretty much exactly the same location.
  21. Free transfers don’t exist, and I’ve little concern re who the club targets. They’ve got very few transfers wrong thus far.
  22. The culture changed due to the pricing out. Football decided it didn’t want groups of young lads going. It wanted older people with money and families, and none of them said a peep. Now it wants tourists. Martin Niemöller got this right.
  23. I was on the top tier vs Sheff Utd. Fucking thing was moving
  24. Completely agree. Highbury in particular was light years away from being a shithole - parts of it were Grade-listed. But ultimately it was holding Arsenal back in the long term - and this was pre-PSR. Though I’d definitely have a knowing smirk if anyone suggested that Highbury had a better atmosphere
