We shouldn't be fooled, this is still a fucking hard away game - it is still a Pep-managed Man City, just one in a transition season. Any points will still absolutely be unexpected points gained. And on that, I'm going for 2-2. -
I always love a raucous atmosphere, but it does the sum total of fuck all in terms of winning trophies. The players will always make these sort of statements. There is zero connection between crowd noise and winning trophies. If there were, then Arsenal would have won fuck all - ever - and Crystal Palace and West Ham would be London's most successful clubs. We've won nothing in England for seven decades - I don't think this was because our atmosphere has been shit for 70 years. I don't think getting on players' backs helps, of course. But singing makes less than fuck all difference - though that isn't a reason not to do it.

I suspect our Facebook and Twitter reactions may have some equally grim responses tbf

I suspect you’re right - more for the PL to avoid the problem of what to do about it. They’d have to find some testicles. The problem with the PL from the off was that the league’s management wasn’t independent of the clubs - it isn’t administered from Lancaster Gate.

Yeah, I know where you’re coming - but I think if he goes he would join another PL club. That’s what I mean by it - I’d be surprised if a bottom six/seven side wouldn’t take him. -
We're second-favourites for the Cup and we haven't even had the 5th Round draw yet. I feel light-headed Seeing NUFC win the FA Cup is the only dream I can remember having from the age of about 5 which I still have now - unless steam trains make a comeback and they let me drive one.

Perfectly capable PL midfielder - his greatest weakness was always the time he takes on the ball. This isn't laziness, more a slowness in decision-making - it is what stops him from being a really good PL midfielder. I'm happy he's here as a squad midfielder - he's not as good as Bruno or Tonali; but at the moment very few are. It would cost us 20m+ to bring in a replacement of guaranteed similar PL capability - and he's one of us (and a HG player). Why the urge to get rid? If the lad is happy to stay, then unless we get an unrefusable offer then we should embrace him. -

If they lose on those charges a points deduction would be the least of their worries. Titles stripped and mandated relegation would be a potential outcome. -
Etihad being floated = Man City winning against the charges is a stretch which Reed Richard would be proud of - what complete and utter bollocks It could just as well be argued that Man City going after the PL on the APT regs shows nervousness about the impending case.
-
But as we all know, Chelsea and Man City’s trophies have never counted, everyone says that, so they have a point.
-
I mean VAR shouldn’t even come into the equation - that’s just absolutely dogshit refereeing. The linesman must be blind. I’m convinced that VAR is making them worse.

I’ve always had the weird feeling that the first trophy win in yonks reaction in Newcastle will be an odd outpouring of emotion mixed in with drunken revelry - it’ll feel really, really odd; not an anticlimax exactly, just that the reaction won’t be uniform. The second one and every one after that would be a standard two days of drunken merriment.

Fair play to them on that front 🌈 - I can imagine it going down pretty badly with the Farage & Tommy Five Names element in their support
