  1. The worst was towards the end of 95/96 when the crowd had turned and the lad’s confidence was completely shot and he was a nervous wreck. He made the rest of the back line nervous - I was at Highbury towards the end of that season and he was basically to blame for our defeat. You’re absolutely right though, he was everywhere - he never hid, and was (and is) clearly a good character. If we’d paid £400k instead of £4m his early career at NUFC may have gone differently.
  2. As long as our turnover remains where it is, we have no choice but to ‘be Brighton’. Selling for large profit makes up for those shortfalls
  3. Mudryk will, I’m guessing, be an orthodox Christian. Jesus will be triune - or at least God is. Though I hope he never reads Leviticus 19:28 or that tattoo will make him feel like a right daft cunt.
  4. He was passing his wisdom onto us, in fairness
  5. The Cycling Mikey videos where he walks over to cars in stopped traffic to catch people on their phones is a bit rum, but the ones at ‘Gandalf Corner’ (where he caught the Staveley lookalike) are absolutely fine by me - that’s wankers pulling into the wrong lane to cut traffic, which is a massive danger to traffic coming the other way. Those cunts deserve a fine and YouTube video showing how much of a cunt they are.
  6. I liked it when he said he was mates with Morrissey and would repeat passages from his Penguin Book of Clever Quotes so that he could show us what footballers think intellectuals sound like.
  7. I’m also surprised how high some have Barton. The lad had a huge heart, but he was a painfully mediocre FB who stood out like a sore thumb when he played in a good side. Considering he was a British record for a defender, he always struck me as a waste of money by Keegan (who I think signed him because he seemed to have a knack of scoring vs us - KK wasn’t exactly a big one for scouting).
  8. Bloody hell, that’s pretty much my order too - all I’d do is swap Beye and Watson’s positions.
  9. I never thought Griffin was shite, mind. He didn’t have a good time with injuries but was pretty solid when he played. Carr was utter gash for us, though.
  10. If only our new friend could put deux et deux together and work out that the reason this is the case is that no-one gives a shite about Ligue 1 outside of France - which is why the revenues are so much lower. PSG has a catchment area of 12m with no other top flight clubs near them, yet have only sold out their home games for the last few seasons. So not that many in France give much of a shit either.
  11. No, it is season to season, not calendar month + three years. We’re unlikely to have any ‘give’ left in January - I’d expect no-one to come in, unless perhaps a cheap loan signing.
  12. Yep. It’s as ‘hilarious’ as most of the banners him and his pals make.
  13. *Gallic shrug* I give far less of a shit about England than I do Newcastle. If Newcastle didn’t have a single Englishman in the team but was winning trophies I wouldn’t give a solitary shite.
  14. Incompetence, not conspiracy, is at the heart of what goes wrong with this. It wasn't anti-Liverpool bias which disallowed that goal.
  15. I’ve never bought the (sometimes childish) waffle about the referees favouring the Sky Six etc. I also never thought VAR was a good idea. But what it has done is exposed the incompetence of some of the officials - even with replays, multiple angles and slow motion they’re still making obvious errors. The standard of refereeing in England is very poor at the moment - we saw that vs Milan, when a competent European ref allowed the game to flow.
  16. It’s Daz Curry’s lot, they are obsessed in fairness.
  17. Livramento MotM for me as he played the full 90, but Bruno changed the game. He was fucking brilliant.

The internet saving the moon from being shouted at I reckon
  19. This is the first time I’ve been unhappy with our ties this season. Who wants to qualify for the CL and play in a group of lesser lights? Big boys every time - I want the glamour games.
  20. Yes, but the probability after 11 home cup ties in a row is 50%. There is no fixing going on.
