Crystal Palace vs. Newcastle United: 24/4/24 @ 20:00 (No UK TV)

Given the squad shortages, I’m ok with it tbh - an extra few days’ rest. I’m going for a 3-1 win down there -
Lewis Miley: signs six-year contract extension (Official)

The lad looks like a player, but I’d rather we take no risks with a kid of his age - it sounds sensible to me if we’re not risking him before the end of the season -
I could see Bruno going if the right money came in. I don’t think Isak’s going anywhere. Every player has a price. Complaining about FFP has nowt to do with supporting the club tbf Rod. Masters and the PL have boxed us in and I’ve seen nothing at all about an army of lawyers to date - we’ve basically ticked off every regulation which boxes us in.
-
I didn’t say selling our best players. I was talking about buying young players at reasonable prices with a view to making a profit on them. I don’t think we’re about to sell Isak. I could easily see us sell Minteh if someone bids £20m. This is no different from what Man City and Chelsea do already.

Doesn’t matter if they want it or not. FFP pushes us into that position.

You all must be in the upper tier of the East Stand then. Nowhere else in SJP is as it was in the early 80s.
-
How about ‘stay where you are and never compete with the big boys’. Wonder what the response would be then …
-
It’s the ‘existing stadium is key’ bit that I don’t get. SJP isn’t anything like what it was even 25 years ago. It’s not the same ground. Why are the current stands suddenly important?
-
100%. Absolutely criminal

Wtf have I just watched? ?

Yeah sorry mate, the ref was right it seems
-
Yeah, news to me this one. Looks like it is the case
-
No subs, someone else would have to go in nets

It still doesn’t make him undervalued. It means he went for what he was worth. A Saudi club didn’t need to overpay needlessly.
-
The dodgy deals they did led to prison. It was an act of cultural vandalism. It isn’t just a case of right to light - there isn’t the room. And you’ve lost me with the ‘wokeness’ reference. Have some civic pride man.

The creation of Eldon Square and the central motorway ultimately led to councillors going to jail mate. The demolition of those buildings was a fucking crime and the idea that ‘it’s been done before so it’ll be ok to do it again’ is off the charts crackers. SJP is hardly the greatest building in the city - it’s an already outmoded lumpen stadium of concrete and steel. How about we don’t wreck irreplacable heritage buildings - the ones that remain?
-
Think we’ve seen the next place for that Mandingo loon on YouTube and his wee mate to check out
-
They definitely were, but then they can’t be pulled on FMV for related party transactions.

No-one bid for him at any point. It might have been his agent planting stories. ASM is an injury prone player with low output. He’s perfect for shit sides in that he offers a bit of entertainment, but he’s an ineffective player at the highest level. No-one in the bottom six at any point decided he was worth the gamble - and no top club would touch him with a bargepole. There are swathes of our support who cannot accept that he simply isn’t that good a footballer.
-
Yep. Literally how a market works.

Also literally quoting the judge in the case. It’s not just rags like the Sun and the Mail who reported on this last month. She was taken to court because she’d failed to pay out to an investor. The judge found that her defence was paper thin. Now she’s going to be ordered to make a settlement payment.

just made the railway point at the same time you posted

I blame the Metro tbh. Labelling that stop next to the Ministry as ‘Longbenton’ has exacerbated the misnaming which has led to so many lost working days
