  1. Then we’ve got ourselves some bad owners - that would be an unbelievably fucking stupid thing to do
  2. 100%. Look at our starting XI - a lot of that side need coached and drilled into being top performers. Isak, Bruno, Trippier and Tonali are the only ones who a top six side would contemplate buying for their first XI. We’re still early into a rebuild. Patience is necessary.
  3. I think a few need to calm down a bit. We lost away to a really good side - it’s nowhere near panic stations yet. Unless of course you’re expecting us to challenge for the title, in which case panic away you delusional knacker
  4. Agreed, looked much better at LW with Willock behind him, so that he’d just drop in when Willock pushed forward. I don’t think he looks at his best just as a MF
  5. Eddie needs to take a leaf out of Joe Kinnear's book, who could if I remember correctly 'get on the blower' to Arsene Wenger or Alex Ferguson any day of the week. Look at how good being able to get on blowers to better managers make you.
  6. I always felt that Lineker was completely wasted as a presenter - he's much better to listen to than the vast majority of football pundits. He achieved a lot more in the game than most of them, too.
  7. Jesus I feel we got off light now! Has the match day security improved?
  8. ‘Quick get some water - my Ross Stewart top is ahad!’
  9. You must have put it in your ‘filing cabinet’
  10. That’s a relief. I think the flares being thrown into the away end were ultimately worse than the coins, stones and bottles of piss. Though I admired that the Milanese stewards allowed the throwers plenty of run-up for maximum launch velocity.
  11. We ended up in some magic show one night as the place said they would serve beer. They were asking for €40 a pint, I shit you not. We made our excuses and left …
  12. I always wait until we’ve played these sort of sides twice before asking these questions
  13. Geordies know something about it too - I was there in 2003. Groups of Inter hooligans looking for individual or smaller groups of Newcastle supporters to gang up on. Shit their pants when the numbers were close to even.
  14. While I think it’s apparent that Ekitike is likely a bad egg, it doesn’t seem particularly fair to blame the lad for not wanting to move to Frankfurt. PSG signed a contract with him at the end of the day

Southgate’s selections are those of a manager who has been in the job far too long - he’s got favourites at this point

I don’t agree with that in the forum?
  17. I know what you mean, but I’m like a kid at Xmas with this stuff. I bastard love European nights. It’s been far too long.
  18. We can worry about progression in future years as far as I’m concerned. For now, just the excitement of meeting Europe’s elite clubs again is enough. And for those disappointed by the ‘tough’ group - trust me, those of us who went to all our games in the previous seasons we qualified for the CL, the games against the real heavyweights (Barca, Inter, Juve) really were absolute dream games to attend. It makes years of suffering turgid shite worthwhile. While all European games are exciting, you wouldn’t want a European Cup group that could easily feel like a UEFA Cup group
  19. Even if he’s free, it’s still not a tempting offer like. Maybe if he came with a six pack of Carling and twenty bensons they’d get some takers.
  20. Get in! Just saw the group. Fucking corker of a group that. Perfect, just perfect. Every game a beaut
  21. Blackburn in 95/96 should float over these thoughts like Marley’s ghost
  22. Fucking hell man, we’ve played Barcelona four times already in the ECL. (We’ve also played PSV, of course). I wouldn’t complain, but it’s hardly the dream ‘big team’ in the group. Let’s have some new blood to play against
