Me too, but I'm starting to think the Gordon/Barnes signings are going to be all of the RW business.
-
We got £23m for ASM; we aren't replacing Wilson's 18 goals with what we could get for him. Transfermarkt has him at €16.00m (that has to be low right? even still).

Scored in seven consecutive games to end the 20/21 season. What a run that was.

Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

That really seems like a bargain. Would love to get someone in of that quality for that price. Surprised no French clubs moved in. Have to admit, I really don't understand the Gordon/Barnes/Saint-Maximin business, but that's why i'm not a sporting director. -
Gordon looked very good against Chelsea. I thought we would bring in a left footed rw instead of two right footed lws. Gordon does play a lot of rw though. Any news on Schar? Does that scare not underscore the need for back cover next? I hope so.

Matt Targett has a pretty good overall injury history but that all came to and end last season when he missed 61 days/12 games starting in late December. His return from injury wasn't until March and by that time Burn had established himself as a competent lb who was part of the best defense in EPL, and we know that Eddie Howe likes to ease players (back) into the starting lineup. With that being said, conclusions that Targett is now "rubbish" are premature. Ideally, Burn is a backup lcb and lb and not a starting lb. I guess one question is do you feel better with Targett/Burn at lb or Miggy/Murphy at rw? Our defense was pretty stout all year long; our scoring had some ups and downs.

and six goals from Wolve's midfield.
-
Barnes and Chiesa now please.
-
No one is paying £50 for ASM including Saudi clubs.
-
They have both been injured quite a bit and Howe tends to ease players back into the starting eleven. I would be surprised if Targett doesn't end up with a lot more starts and minutes next year. If Barnes signs, I could see ASM being sold. I don't think we sell Matt.
-
I think we paid too much for Anthony Gordon (£45m), but I also thought we paid too much for Isak (£60m), which was a very fair price in hindsight. We really found bargains in Bruno, Botman, and Trippier.
-
Everyone expected PIF to come in and start throwing money around and breaking the rules like City. I actually like that we are playing within the rules AND winning. Must drive certain people crazy.
-
And one the year before that. i hope Miggy has a great year but his last one is a bit of an outlier.
-
Agree. We have a health Matt Targett w/ Dan Burn as backup. That's a lot better than Almiron and Murphy. We also need more scoring up front and a new RW could help there.
-
And Joelinton and Isak when we want to get both him and Wilson on the field together. We need a RW.
-
He should be our best scorer from the left. Let's hope Miggy has another great year on the right.
-
He's 25 and has never done this in his career. I would be happy with 10 from the left side next year.
-
So what was the point of Anthony Gordon? We spend 75m on two LWs and ignore RW, LB, and RB? Definitely need to sell ASM if true, and he will be a bargain since everyone will know we need to sell. LW: Gordon, ASM, Isaak, Big Joe, and Barnes?
-
ACLs are bad news: UPittMedCenter No way anyone spends €60m for him. Being able to play across the front three is certainly nice though.
-
Gordon is a right footed lw and Diaby is a left footed rw. Gordon can also play rw and cm, but we only really use him on the left where he played predominately before us. Diaby is a much better offensive player and can also play lw or cm. The only similarities are with their versatility really.
-
He looked very good for Brighton and very bad for Chelsea. Not sure what happened there but didn't Brighton play a back three in 21/22? He played in a back four at Chelsea.
-
And we just paid too much for the same player (Barnes is the one we should have been in for) in Anthony Gordon. At least Gordon is about four years younger. I hope we keep ASM and upgrade on the rw. Agree, Barnes only makes sense if ASM goes. We need more scoring on the front line unless Miggy comes charging back with another great year. He could always regress to 21/22 form.
-
Pretty sure that is a player version. The only thing that would make me wonder is the breathability/stretchiness of the fabric, and I can't tell whether it has more ventilation than a normal fan shirt from your picture. Pretty sure it's a player version: iron-on badge? check; tighter fit than normal? check; stretchy ventilated light weight fabric? Can't tell from the photo (can you compare it to another Castore shirt you own?). Also, hot take: i like the 19/20 puma jersey.

Targett missed 17 games and 78 days with injuries last season, and we know EH eases players back into the rotation so I think it's a bit early to write him off. Seemed like we were pretty happy with him when he came over.
-
Scoring was an off and on problem throughout the season and Miggy going crazy for a bit kind of bailed us out. The defense was really amazing November through January and then started to give way toward the end. We need a frontline scorer and a defensive addition with our next two moves. Midfield after that.
