  1. He won't replace him unless Bruno gets hurt (guess I chose the wrong word there). He is a similar midfielder to Bruno rather than being a defensive specialist or attacking midfielder that could play w/ him and compliment his style. I still think he is a great addition.
  2. I still don't understand how we only got 23m for ASM. Was no one else interested? It wasn't too long ago that he was our only sellable asset. Apart from that, the Barnes for ASM was a good move that will result in more goals. Not doing anything on the RW may negate the additions on the LW though. We got a Bruno replacement in Tonali (which was needed) but not a Bruno compliment. Back line help for the future but not the present will be a poor consolation if we miss out on European football next season. Outgoing business was poor thanks largely to Mike Ashley regime. Barnes, Tonali, Livramento, and Hall could all be stars in the future. Overall gave it a 7.
  3. Some on here dismissed Diaby because he doesn't help with the press and defense. Sounds like a bargain version of Diaby.
  4. Agree. Like I said, he's look much improved and could turn out to be a bargain. I'm not ready to give a perfect 10 score for the transfer yet. Barnes looks like a steal. We needed some goals from the left wing and he can provide that.
  5. No telling what he can do and he has improved, but he didn't look worth £45m while at Everton or with NUFC last year, and I thought ASM would fetch £30m at least. We bought Barnes for £6m cheaper and he at least scored a lot for Leicester.
  6. Paid too much for Anthony Gordon (at least he looks much better this year than last) and then didn't get enought for ASM. Tonali, Barnes, Livramento, and Hall look great though. Still have RW and RCB holes.
  7. We also have Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes who can play AM. His shot against City was ugly.
  8. What a horrible deal for Tottenham. Only £30m and through 2033? They finished top 4 in three years since signing that deal. Castore getting a bargain from us for £5m. I'm not sure why we didn't just buy them out.
  9. I read Mac Allister was £35m with addons to £55m, which is basically what we paid for Tonali who is a year younger.

    Lewis Hall

Seems odd Chelsea would agree to loan only this year with obligation to buy next year. I would think they need the cash arrival now for FFP but we may not have the cash now. Barnes, Tonali, and Hall....wow.
  11. That would be £11m transfer fee + someone accepting his £100k salary + Matt agreeing to leave for us to break even for FFP. He had two very good years (I remember most being excited at his loan and transfer) before this last one with the injury. I too am in the keep Targett regardless camp hoping he gets back to form.
  12. If we can't get rid of Fraser and Hendrick because of salary, we would probably have a tough time w/ Targett who is signed through 2026.
  13. His acl tear was a month before Livramento's.
  14. What is more likely? Matt Targett getting back to 21/22 form or Fabian Schar getting injured? I'm going cb since we have Dan Burn.
  15. Starting July 1 so Caicedo can only be amortized for five years but everything they have done prior to July 1 gets 8 (or however long the contract is for). The Athletic
  16. provide competition cover for Sven Botman at LCB.
  17. Any chance we get rid of Hendrick and Fraser this window?
  18. The real question is what is the point of Anthony Gordon for £45m? Eddie Howe likes to start players off slowly so there was little possibility of him making a big difference the second half of last season. We could have had Moussa Diaby for a little more than AG cost. Harvey Barnes, Isak, and Diaby on the front line means goals. Also, not worth it to dump ASM for that small fee. We sold a lw and still go four deep at the position (AG, HB, BigJoe, Isak...throw in Anderson too if you want). Odd strategy. Last year everyone thought Spurs won the off season/transfer market, and we know how that worked out. I hope we get some help for the back line.
  19. Our defense declined in the second half of last season and our only upgrade was someone who missed an entire season w/ an ACL tear and who will be sitting behind Trippier most of the time anyway. Can't say the defense is back to form in the preseason games either.
  20. Aston Villa is having a great window: Mousa Diaby £47m Pau Torres £28m Youri Tielmans free Liverpool got Alex Mac Allister for a song and then added Szobo so that is quite the improvement in their midfield.
  21. Can he fill in for Schar too? That would be nice.
  22. I'm thinking Gordon and Barnes will provide cover for rw. Otherwise it doesn't make much sense to buy the two during consecutive windows. We're fine in cm with Joelinton, Willock, Anderson, Tonali, Bruno, and Barnes/Gordon (they have played plenty of AM as has Miley). I think someone who can play rcb/rb is what we do next and that will be the end of the window for us. Versatility seems to be what Howe/Ashworth have in mind and we are approaching the point where we are legitimately two deep at every position. Scoring is still a concern, and I was hoping for a left footed rw specialist like Diaby. Oh well, we only need to finish 7th to qualify for European football 23/24.
  23. Me too, but I'm starting to think the Gordon/Barnes signings are going to be all of the RW business.
  24. We got £23m for ASM; we aren't replacing Wilson's 18 goals with what we could get for him. Transfermarkt has him at €16.00m (that has to be low right? even still).

    Joe Willock

Scored in seven consecutive games to end the 20/21 season. What a run that was.
