  1. Disagree to an extent. They insisted on pursuing players that were already proven and established in the EPL and panicked when they went elsewhere. They should have foreseen that eventuality and had a better backup plan. And it wasn't just one bad window.

Wasn't the "way" just recognizing that big Joe wasn't a striker?
  3. He was going to give up £6M and step aside when the team was at a low point making getting another job that much more difficult?
  4. That doesn't make sense as someone up the thread noted: We were always looking for another striker. We just got desperate when established players didn't want to come to Newcastle resulting in the panic buy.
  5. How can PIF not be furious at the Howe's for this debacle? Did someone else force the player on Eddie? I don't get it. His recent lack of playing time seems like it may be best to sell.

Why can't we keep a sporting director? Our third under Eddie knew to not disagree with him. Amanda Staveley was the beginning of the end. Time to start fresh with a new group and a goal to create stability.
  7. ....he would already have been sacked this year. I don't think anyone is not aware of the extraordinary job he did his first three years. His coaching is showing a few cracks, but the real question is who was responsible for the Guehi saga and the panic buys this summer.
  8. We spent £277M this summer when the dream of being one of the top clubs in Europe was still very much alive. The summer business was spectacularly bad.
  9. He's on £400,000 per week salary.
  10. How do you know that? The Ekitike saga started long ago. Also, who identified Wissa and Elanga?
  11. Maybe the other two will be decent. Not buying that.
  12. We have made £46.44M so far (€53.6M Givemesport article). We only get €1 for Knock out phase playoff (seeded), which seems very low. The next big prize is making the round of sixteen (€11M).
  13. Sounds like he needs to hand the recruitment duties to someone else and should have done so in the summer.
  14. Looked like his plant foot (left) slipped and caused him to sit down.
  15. Should have shopped abroad for the RW. (Akliouche, Kang-in Lee.)
  16. Would have been less expensive as well.
  17. Murphy's crosses were brilliant. He was not replaced this summer. Bruno had some really nice passes. Glad the long sleeves are a thing. I wish i had ordered that instead of the short sleeve home.
  18. Eddie deserves a lot of credit but the transfer strategy seemed desperate and poorly planned after Mitchell left. We couldn't plan for Isak, but we have needed a new RW and a backup striker for quite a while.
  19. I thought we could have had a more technical player for a lot less. Still, he is available to play and that is better than Ramsey and Wissa.
  20. RW: better depth, which was needed, but not much increase in quality; overpaid when we could have had more creativity for cheaper abroad; poor. Striker: worse; overpaid for the German and a player who turns 29 tomorrow; poor. Midfielder: replaced homegrown talent with injury prone player; slightly better. CB: better depth, but will Thiaw be that much better that Schar? poor. Keeper: didn't really move the needle here; poor. Not a good window in terms of execution and result. The key is to make Champions league again to keep the money pipeline intact. We added much needed depth but our healthy starting eleven is not as good. 6/10.
