  1. They paid £70m for him and have him at £200,000 a week for seven years. Good luck with that.
  2. I think he would have helped improve our scoring and made the team better. I guess the 170,000 a week salary and his desire to move to London sank the deal. I wish we could have at least pushed the price up some before Spurs got him.
  3. Alex Mac Allister to Liverpool for 35m and James Maddison to Spurs for 40m appear to be the deals of the window so far. I wonder if we made any attempt at Mac Allister at all. City would have bid Maddison up to 50m if they were in our place.
  4. Kudus under contract through 2025 and plays cf, am, and rw: transfermarkt.
  5. I wouldn't call Chris Wood a success and still too early to tell on Targett, Gordon, Kuol, and Ashby.
  6. Targett missed 15 games and 78 days last season. I think EH starts to get him more playing time. Burn is a valuable back up lb and cb. Our defense got us to CL but it also was looking a bit worn out in the end. 2 clean sheets the last 20 games (10%); 16 clean sheets in the 26 games before (62%). Really wonderful streak from November trough January.
  7. An asset that has gone from 3.4m to 1.0m in value (according to transfermarkt)?
  8. Burn had a great season and loves the team, but I think he gives way to Matt Targett who got injured twice last year. Wonder why neither West Ham nor Newcastle loaned Harrison Ashby.
  9. We got Ashby because he was going to run down his contract w/ Hammers who were desperate to keep him. I would imagine West Ham offered a loan to get more playing time and he rejected it. And we are 10m apart despite offering Ryan Fraser too? Something is odd w/ this rumor.
  10. Seems like a waste to stockpile two young rbs (one of whom will become disgruntled) when we could use a lb, cover at rcb, and another scorer on the front line.
  11. The idea of Burn going up against the type of quality right wings we are going to see in Champions League is a bit scary. Seems to have good closing speed w/ those long legs when he gets beat though.
  12. Based on previous signings, the next one will not be Maddison, Szoboszlai, or Chiesa but instead will be someone completely out of the blue.
  13. If Maddison wants to live in London more than he wants European football then we aren't missing out on much. I think £40-45m is a reasonable price if he wants the move.
  14. Net spend the last five years has them ranked 8th, three places behind us and that's with some Ashley windows. We are spending money. football365
  15. His highlight video shows quite a bit of creativity in passing/assists. His set pieces are wonderful.
  16. Agree. Lavia is not nearly as versatile either. Who is going to take the corners now? I know Trippier is an expert, but Tonali looks really good too. Trippier = free-kick; Tonali = corner?
  17. It makes me think Leicester are doing the same thing that they did last summer with Fofana. They waited until late August to finally give in to Chelea's offer.
  18. Sounds like Leicester is going to drag out the Maddison transfer hoping for a bidding war that is not going to materialize.
  19. Grew up a Milan fan, but he just signed a new contract for €3m year(?) through 2027. That seems like a pretty low wage. sky
  20. Agree and he will pick Newcastle and Champions League. I don't think anyone is saying Maddison is not worth £50m. In fact we tried to buy him for that last year. But last year was last year, and he now has only a year left on a contract with a relegated team. Let's just hope Leicester don't drag this out last year like they did with Fofana to Chelsea.
  21. Spurs? Rumor they offered £50m for Maddison AND Barnes. And they can't offer European football. I think standing firm is the way to go if Leicester think his value is £60m or even £50m because it is simply not and they will need time to find a replacement.
  22. Reports Leicester want 60m. Ridiculous if true. If we offer(ed), i hope we give them a short deadline to agree.
  23. Quite worrying when an hour on and neither the club or the local journalists have come out and denied it.

An "out of the blue" signing would not surprise me as we've done that effectively in the past. This player is out of contract next summer and cheap and appears to play the attacking midfield position so it makes me wonder about Maddison.
  25. Same shirt as last year with the stripes reversed. Last year white stripe centered, this year black stripe centered; last year white stripe on top of the shoulders, this year black stripe on top of the shoulders; last year white black white round collar, this year black white black vee collar. FUN88 vs. SELA = wash for me. I was hoping for Arabic writing.
