  1. Champions League income could be low to begin but you still make a valid point. Doesn't make sense our budget would drop that much when revenue is actually increasing.
  2. Giant yellow badge on the sleeve needs to go now that the obnoxious FUN88 is gone. After that get rid of Castore.
  3. He must have had a release clause of some sort. Brighton are tough negotiators, and they would not let him go for £35M if that were not the case. This article from wearebrighton does a good job explaining all the speculation and concludes it was £35M with addons up to £55M. Still a good bit of business if true.
  4. Mac Allister salary supposed to be fairly reasonable £150,000 week at Liverpool (Sport Bible). I would be extremely happy to have signed him for £35M and £150,000 a week.
  5. Weird that we didn't fight them tooth and nail for this signing. I was hoping we could outbid Liverpool for CMs since they need to sign 3 and we need 2, but they will have plenty of money to compete with us for other signings. I don't get it. Getting back to Champions League will be much more difficult next time around. Rumors Osimhen to ManU and Levy refusing to sell Kane.
  6. Someone posted something like this earlier, but I can't find it: NUFC fans: we need someone who can unlock a defense set up in a low block. Also NUFC fans: let's get rid of the best player able to do that. I agree that it is too early to discount Anthony Gordon, but presently he is not the answer at LW. Neither is Big Joe who is better suited to play in the midfield. My guess is that the replacement cost for ASM would be more than we could sell him for at this point anyway.
  7. I think he is a better CM. If we move him, we have Willock, Bruno, Longstaff as CMs and would need another three unless you count on Anderson for important minutes there and then you still need two.
  8. True but a bit of a let down if our two CMs are Lavia and McTominay when there has been so much talk about Szoboszla and Maddison (not to mention Ugarte, Thuram, and even Mac Allister). City have a match any offer and a buyout back for '24 for Lavia.
  9. All they have to do is sell 1-2 home grown players for £80m to balance the books for this years FFP I'm hoping everyone takes advantage of Chelsea since they are obviously desperate. Big losses for Pulisic and Havertz on the way.
  10. And a lot of people wanted to keep Shelvey. Brilliant work in the summer and winter.
  11. 100% agree. Makes the frontline and midfield worse at the same time. Not our best lineup. Why did we spend £45M on Anthony Gordon?
  12. We spent £123M last summer and then have the 4th place epl money + new shirt sponsor. £150M sounds about right.
  13. Other teams will drive the price up. Also, we get £37M for fourth place finish and a rumored £25M for the new shirt sponsor. The estimates of our budget are never accurate. They started out to be ridiculously high and then went ridiculously low. I think the club likes the really low guesses.
  14. I don't care if he goes to Spurs. I just hope Leicester squeeze every penny out of the deal. If they get relegated and sell cheap they have to wonder what if they had sold to us during the winter window for a good price. Nunes to Liverpool heating up. Don't care about that either. Pretty soon the path to some really good young central midfielders will be wide open for us.
  15. £55M for a center back? That's a big part of the budget for a fourth priority position (after lb, cm, rw).

    Scott McTominay

Is that really true? I thought Dan Ashworth said it was more of a committee decision where he was responsible for building a consensus. I've also read some Eddie Howe quotes that suggest he is not the ultimate decision maker. Old Dan Ashworth quote:
  17. At what price? Romeo Romeo Lavia, Manuel Ugarte, or Kephren Thuram are very good options for the position.
  18. Most overrated should really come into focus after the summer transfer window. For instance, Moises Caicedo has played very well but won't be worth the £80million Arsenal will pay (similar to a lot of Brighton transfers). I would add Richarlison (£60 million basically what we paid for Isak), Anthony Gordon (but still too early to tell for him), and Chelsea to the list.
  19. Liverpool transfer target Alexis Mac Allister has decided that he wants to play in the Champions League next season, according to The Athletic, which could mean that a move to Anfield is less likely.
  20. How about Tierney & Anthony Gordon then?
  21. opportunity = fans wanted to kill him. I think he would have been sold in the summer if we didn't bite.
  22. Ryan Frasier, Jeff Hendrick, M. Gillespie, Andy Carrol, Kyle Scott, Jake Turner.
  23. So RB Leipzig are going to make him the second highest paid player on their squad? Nice girlfriend:

    Anthony Gordon

Anthony Gordon needs more time, but he really didn't do anything at Everton before we bought him.
