  1. Net spend the last five years has them ranked 8th, three places behind us and that's with some Ashley windows. We are spending money. football365
  2. His highlight video shows quite a bit of creativity in passing/assists. His set pieces are wonderful.
  3. Agree. Lavia is not nearly as versatile either. Who is going to take the corners now? I know Trippier is an expert, but Tonali looks really good too. Trippier = free-kick; Tonali = corner?
  4. It makes me think Leicester are doing the same thing that they did last summer with Fofana. They waited until late August to finally give in to Chelea's offer.
  5. Sounds like Leicester is going to drag out the Maddison transfer hoping for a bidding war that is not going to materialize.
  6. Grew up a Milan fan, but he just signed a new contract for €3m year(?) through 2027. That seems like a pretty low wage. sky
  7. Agree and he will pick Newcastle and Champions League. I don't think anyone is saying Maddison is not worth £50m. In fact we tried to buy him for that last year. But last year was last year, and he now has only a year left on a contract with a relegated team. Let's just hope Leicester don't drag this out last year like they did with Fofana to Chelsea.
  8. Spurs? Rumor they offered £50m for Maddison AND Barnes. And they can't offer European football. I think standing firm is the way to go if Leicester think his value is £60m or even £50m because it is simply not and they will need time to find a replacement.
  9. Reports Leicester want 60m. Ridiculous if true. If we offer(ed), i hope we give them a short deadline to agree.
  10. Quite worrying when an hour on and neither the club or the local journalists have come out and denied it.

An "out of the blue" signing would not surprise me as we've done that effectively in the past. This player is out of contract next summer and cheap and appears to play the attacking midfield position so it makes me wonder about Maddison.
  12. Same shirt as last year with the stripes reversed. Last year white stripe centered, this year black stripe centered; last year white stripe on top of the shoulders, this year black stripe on top of the shoulders; last year white black white round collar, this year black white black vee collar. FUN88 vs. SELA = wash for me. I was hoping for Arabic writing.
  13. New shirt deal is worth £25m (less what we have to pay FUN88), EPL finish is worth £37.4m (£15m more than we received last year), and then there is the Champions League payouts (55% of which is performance based w/ the other 45% coming from our performance over 10 year period (we are probably pretty low among the 32 teams), and television contracts (which are probably still being worked out). Also, if FFP is based on the last three years, we probably had a surplus 3 years ago.
  14. What about Pascal Struijk for lb from Leeds instead? He can step into DM role too and Leeds can rely on Firpo instead. Another Dutch giant to go along with Botman. sofascore
  15. Dominik Szoboszlai doesn't really play RW though does he? Seems to be a younger James Maddison.
  16. 19/20 net spend €37.26m, 20/21 €39m, 21/22 €136m, 22/23 €172m....according to transfermarkt. Not sure how to apply those numbers and our revenue has been increasing. As someone else mentioned the transfer fee is amortized over the life of the contract and selling a player, even for less than you initially paid for him, can result in net gains for ffp purposes. Ryan Fraser €8m, Jamal Lewis €8m, Matt Ritchie €1.8m, Jamal Lascalles €7 may all be headed out.
  17. Champions League income could be low to begin but you still make a valid point. Doesn't make sense our budget would drop that much when revenue is actually increasing.
  18. Giant yellow badge on the sleeve needs to go now that the obnoxious FUN88 is gone. After that get rid of Castore.
  19. He must have had a release clause of some sort. Brighton are tough negotiators, and they would not let him go for £35M if that were not the case. This article from wearebrighton does a good job explaining all the speculation and concludes it was £35M with addons up to £55M. Still a good bit of business if true.
  20. Mac Allister salary supposed to be fairly reasonable £150,000 week at Liverpool (Sport Bible). I would be extremely happy to have signed him for £35M and £150,000 a week.
  21. Weird that we didn't fight them tooth and nail for this signing. I was hoping we could outbid Liverpool for CMs since they need to sign 3 and we need 2, but they will have plenty of money to compete with us for other signings. I don't get it. Getting back to Champions League will be much more difficult next time around. Rumors Osimhen to ManU and Levy refusing to sell Kane.
  22. Someone posted something like this earlier, but I can't find it: NUFC fans: we need someone who can unlock a defense set up in a low block. Also NUFC fans: let's get rid of the best player able to do that. I agree that it is too early to discount Anthony Gordon, but presently he is not the answer at LW. Neither is Big Joe who is better suited to play in the midfield. My guess is that the replacement cost for ASM would be more than we could sell him for at this point anyway.
  23. I think he is a better CM. If we move him, we have Willock, Bruno, Longstaff as CMs and would need another three unless you count on Anderson for important minutes there and then you still need two.
  24. True but a bit of a let down if our two CMs are Lavia and McTominay when there has been so much talk about Szoboszla and Maddison (not to mention Ugarte, Thuram, and even Mac Allister). City have a match any offer and a buyout back for '24 for Lavia.
  25. All they have to do is sell 1-2 home grown players for £80m to balance the books for this years FFP I'm hoping everyone takes advantage of Chelsea since they are obviously desperate. Big losses for Pulisic and Havertz on the way.
