I feel like ST must be a priority below RW and CB for now. I think we need to give Osula a chance to earn the second striker position.
-
Mbuemo at this stage sounds like another Guehi debacle. We'll start at £55m and drop out at about £65m.
-
Maybe they would sell us Neto. They have him subbing on the lw i think.
-
So we were going to overspend on Guehi and sell one of our stars to finance the sale? That seems odd that we would be in the middle of negotiations with Palace but would need to sell if we reached an agreement.
-
Osula was not very good before we brought him here was he? And the cost was very low. Expecting him to be a starter/contributor for us seems like a bit of stretch. Not sure where we were going with that business.
-
I agree. They are emergency only cover. That is why failing to sign a RW is such a glaring error.
-
Gordon and Barnes at LW when each can cover RW and Gordon can play striker is what we should be building toward. Focussing on Geuhi while ignoring RW is not. We could have signed a young RCB as cover for Schar and gone after a RW in the summer window. We had at least 65M to spend in the summer. Not improving RW becasue we can't get good money for Miggy is insane. Who cares? As for disparing Brighton; at least they had a quality signing at RW in the summer.
-
Johan Bakayoko? Contract expires summer 2026. Transfermarkt
-
Maybe this release clause rumor is true (i don't think it is) but it seems more likely that a bigger signing bonus and salary and getting to stay in West London was probably more impactful.
-
What was Osula for? Three strikers on payroll is a luxury we can't afford when we need a cb and rw too.
-
Yes, limited to EPL. Coutinho and Hazard if you include Spain (Barcelona and Real Madrid). transfermarkt
-
One. Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea for €121.00m. Grealish and Declan Rice were just under that amount.
-
I thought we had a real chance at Madueke right after Chelsea brought in Neto.
-
Wasn't he poor to average for Sheffield United? Not sure why we think he is a quality starting striker just because we spent a small amount on him.
-
A lot of people said scoring isn't a problem when we were spending so much effort on a defensive transfer. Scoring is a problem.
-
Why? We get Botman and Lascelles back in the winter so we could add a rw in that window without worrying about the back line as much.
-
The away jersey has been the best for two straight years. Really happy with this year's quality and design.
-
I'm not convinced Guehi is definitely better than Schar so I think a center back that provides cover for Schar and Botman and even Tino would be fine in the short term.
-
I'll add Antonio Silva from Benfica (mentioned him in the Guehi thread). He is 20 and can play both center back positions.
-
He's only 20. Maybe in 4 years he equals Guehi. We have more to spend on RW that way too.
-
Antonio Silva-Benfica for less money this winter. Let him play behind Schar to get acclimated. He can step in to cover Botman too like Guehi.
-
Palace did us a favor, rejecting the £65M. It may have bruised the egos of our staff, but they are professionals and will learn a lesson and move on.

His injury history was quite good until this last year and exceptional before he joined NUFC.
