Agree with KK being recognised above SBR. But what about Joe Harvey? ( In all relationships there is a thin line between love and hate - but lot if people forget Sir Bobby having a go at the fans for walking out on his team and many fans forget they were voting with their feet as he’d lost the dressing room.)
  2. You’ve hoyed some of your own slant in there and put it in quotation marks tbf. Gambling is as old as we are best to regulate and tax imho. Consumerism, banking, financial services, the food and beverage industry are all as culpable as betting operations at harming the vulnerable in society. I’d argue gambling is an easy target. I agree the amount of advertising and it’s prominence across football needs reviewed but problem gambling rates remain fairly static. I’d argue the penetration of the internet and social media into every minute of our waking lives via smart phones is probably cooking up unforeseen problems bigger than just gambling for our kids.
  3. provides jobs, tax revenue (Denise Coates is the uks largest tax payer and Bet365 have done more for employment and the community in stoke than any government of whatever hue). also lots of people enjoy it as a legitimate leisure pursuit. I’ll confess to having skin in the game but prohibition is never the answer imho
  4. Similar set up to UK in a local licensing structure. What Italy has that isn’t as prevalent there is a deeply entrenched at institutional level organised crime control over unlicensed supply of remote gambling. https://www.occrp.org/en/daily/13985-italian-mafia-bets-on-illegal-online-gambling#:~:text=At its heart is the, basing its servers in Malta. https://www.nysportsday.com/2022/09/16/offshore-gambling-site-linked-to-mafia/ Even the country’s equivalent of Ladbrokes (SKS365 / Planet Win) was once unlicensed due to mafia connections within its directors and shareholders. It’s since changed ownership and has the correct regulator approvals.
  5. omertà /ˌəʊmɛːˈtɑː/ noun (among the Mafia) a code of silence about criminal activity and a refusal to give evidence to the police. "loyal to the oath of omertà" Posted in good faith assuming I am not being whooshed here!!!!!

I’ve heard people are still giving tickets to non named people under the proviso that if ticket is rejected at the gate they just leave. Not sure what the club could do in this instance as in theory there’s multiple reasons why you might not go in

    Match Atmosphere

Southern games have generally had poorer atmospheres in my experience than games in Yorkshire / North West going back 20+ years. Not a new thing

Dangernonce is either a 40 year old virgin who loves the hoolie porn or he’s a great WUM winding the mackems up. I think the jury’s out

The only video I’ve seen is of the mackems running away. But I’m sure dangernonce on RTG will say the taverners done them or the milky bar kid and his pals had them on their toes.

Haven’t seen it but some of their own are saying he could have had a straight refs for the first yellow?
  12. Cleery seems to have improved a bit since his True Faith days but he still comes across as smug and self satisfied and is fairly irritating. He's like a North Eastern version of Simon from the inbetweeners.

Not sure if serious, but I’ll answer - it’s not for me (the flag and message) but Daz Curry has been following us for years. He just hates Sunderland.

    Match Atmosphere

I agree but I’ve sent 2 endings to the club . Neither have been acknowledged.

    Match Atmosphere

I’m not saying it’s fair but that’s the perception among a lot of seasoned travellers. Anyway keep fighting this and good luck.

Thsts all well and good but the game was on the 19th. I think this was reactive when the time to strike was before the game. Still fair play keep pushing mate.

The trust do need to be more vocal and make a stand. Not you @Gregbut you will know fairly or unfairly there are people who think that other members of the board are benefitting from restructuring ticket allocations they have less heart in a fight.
  18. Sorry mate. As I said in an earlier post the club need greater transparency on this imho
  19. As I said just anecdotally- I’ve won in every one I entered - must put set for life on tonight! the club need to be (more) transparent about the exact logistics of the ballot and the numbers applying imho
  20. I’ve got nothing to bank this up but anecdotally applying with kids seems to lend a greater chance of success. are you applying purely for adult tickets ?
  21. it is mate. Same here for “my brother” and my son (someone else will use my ST and the bairn will be happy).
  22. Yes we have whingers at home but generally our support is positive when it's needed. And some of the general trends aren't unique to Newcastle but are symptoms of the gentrification of the game and modern sensibilities imho. Whilst there were some great memories made in the 80s a lot of the matchday experience is best left there.
