    St James' Park

Atmosphere would at best stay the same. Everything else would be gone though.
  2. Just to add to that, they spent 133million this summer more than we've spent in 2years this January
  3. Its always whether Tonali or Longstaff/Willock should have started or come on. Or Murphy or Almiron or Barnes come on earlier or started and Gordon brought on but its the same stuff moved around the plate at the end of the day. There's no combination is going to guarantee a performance or result with what we have. Even if we could theoretically play the same best team in practice we couldn't and it'd need changing. Me either. Opportunist move from within once whispers were heard or leaked he was available.
  4. I'd blame the manager if any of this was his fault. Needed to buy players. Weren't allowed to buy players. Stuck with players that aren't good enough. Totally limited in what he can do. Can't alternate because the fringe the 'bench' isn't good enough. One fit striker *near permanently. Has to play a free transfer plank because three defenders are out. None of that is his fault.
  5. We are midtable ffs - we finished 7th. Those teams will finish in and around us this year like last year. Its hardly a giant killing to drop points to a team you finished five points ahead of or whatever it was a few month ago.
  6. All it is is we've hit a glass ceiling, momentum completely gone because of the new rules. Can want to replace Howe and scream at and about the players but its not changing. Need to either try and enjoy it for what it is, wrap in or be melancholic as fuck about it (where I'm at) because shit as it may be this is it unless things change in the courts. Certainly there's nothing we can do about it. We've already had a manager punch us above our level and if we get another that too will inevitably level out like this has. Were upper midtable, West Ham are mid-midtable and this is a standard result and game that reflects that as will the final table.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I'd like to see something done in January but especially if we get past Brentford in the league cup. A few new faces, even if by loan, for a refreshing fillip going into semi's at a time of the year when flagging seeps in.
  8. Sticks in my mind that they played the contemporary 'hey now, hey now' version after a game at Coventry once. Reminds me of Cole's back-pass penalty and exiting the title race whenever I hear it and seemed inappropriately joyful at the time after a 0-0 draw as people trudged out, so exactly the sort of thing our DJ would do. 30years ago this Tuesday since Radio Magpie launched
  9. Doesn't sound like it but its usually a brutalist fixture. Last good game I remember was the one of Woan infamy, so brutalist in a different way.
  10. Implies Arteta is a bit like Marlon Brando on Last Tango In Paris Probably is, the horrible c*nt
  11. Audilbe shock from the crowd at Anfield when the referee blew for time on time instead of letting them take a corner
  12. My only regret is it wasn't a hugely controversial winning goal to discombobulate them some more, but I sooth that with the thought that a clean left hook win on top of that hugely controversial winning goal last season will be as sickening.
  13. Reminded me of the end of the 1995 Royal Rumble and Shawn Michaels 'skinning the cat' after getting pitched out
  14. The only team expected to be in and around us that's really doing any better results or performance wise is Villa. Man United are a point worse off and playing no better, Spurs a point better off maybe playing slightly better - but so they should be, Brighton shit the bed against a bottom of the league team and were lucky the week before against us, West Ham are doing worse
  15. Standard sloppy game and influid performance at Chelsea that usually results in a draw or narrow loss no matter who the manager is. Hating this season though, feels interminable, only October?! Feels like March. Just feels like its going to be one of those middling ones that seemed common place pre Ashley.
  16. Semantics but the original comment wasn't by me at all and I read the comment as saying Howe had dragged a relegation bound team to 10th which the poster has since clarified was what he was saying.
  17. He's failed when he has a squad akin to other squads in the top 6 and he doesn't finish in the top 6. We have players in our squad that get regular game time that aren't even PL standard nevermind top 6 material. They had a blank cheque book in that period, we'd only be copying the knee-jerk reaction rather than the success. Anybody would have had success with them. Di Matteo won the Champions League.
  18. Original point was about finishing 10th with a championship side.
  19. Two of those weren't here. One didn't start playing until late Feb
  20. He's got a squad with a half dozen players that are good enough (less going off most comments) to achieve what people expect him to achieve. Were having a midtable season thus far with upper midtable (6-8th) being realistically the high watermark of what we can sustain under current legislature. Never seen any protests, heard any songs or anything like that about Sir Bobby, just some rumblings, had some myself as saying you're leaving at the end of the season always seemed to have a negative effect, and dismissed the idea that people wanted him out - but with this Howe stuff I can easily believe it now sadly.
  21. Get your moaning gear around that lads
