  1. That really makes me fancy a game of football down the school field with me mates.

They've won the same amount of domestic trophies as Sochaux but nowhere near as recently and probably have a worse European pedigree than Guingamp. But neh! lets go with Lyon cos it suits the point he's trying to make.

Seen the call to arms and riling against the 'happy clappers' - ffs I cant think of a place less happy clappy then there. The atmosphere is a mixture of absolute death and toxiciity, a manager cant get through 2seasons - sometimes less, any owners get pelters in a similar time frame, the fans that are left at the end boo them off if they don't win and the place is never close to full in the first place. I'm not so sure this is the 'happy clappers' fault. I think they're just shit and have been for over half a century.

There was a clip of Brian Clough in the pre-match build up on Sunday from the 74 cup final praising our support. If poor Ian Harte who played a handful of games for them got slaughtered for a nothing comment like that its just as well Cloughie wasn't around to be subjected to their wrath
  5. On the tube - just a watch-a-long but the audio of latin American 'goooooool' was a must LIVERPOOL X NEWCASTLE AO VIVO COPA DA LIGA INGLESA DIRETO DE WEMBLEY | FINAL - NARRAÇÃO
  6. Just in case not mentioned previously: The Joy of Football (Martin Tyler's thoughts on it) is up Liverpool FC Vlog - good footage from their end, most of the highlights (we look so dominant)* Any overseas commentaries around, if legal? *edit: its the full version of the video above
  7. Look North was outstanding. Carol Malia taking the heat off and normalising those of us that have been a bit emotional and melodramatic was appreciated
  8. Just realised this evening that exactly a year ago I had cancer, checked for it on 27th, diagnosed in April. Manageable so no worries (but don't be afraid to bother your doctors about ailments, left it months) and that I lost me mam to it as a kid a few days before we won promotion/title at Grimsby - just cant make it straight forward with this club. Wasn't going to mention anything but after reading about folk that have lost people recently that missed out on this because we got a card a few days later that referred to getting promoted/the title that read "(mam's name) will be laughing her socks off" - don't know what my faith is like or what I believe in but I could easily imagine that was the case and hope that's the same for all you guys

  10. He's got great nous in these big games that helps me so can only imagine what it does for his teammates and what a time to regain his set-piece prowess.

Brilliant assist, the climb alone would have been win enough but directing it to Isak as accurately as he did was perfect play, took ability and desire, magnitude aside that was excellent. Little things like that. Someone flakes that and a great goal doesn't happen.
  12. Reeked of a good old drilling today. All the players had that nous about them as well as the desire from a few seasons back and little bits of what looked like overplay but they knew what they were doing. What a performance man. Played the best team in the country off the park.
  13. Gonna get a dehydration headache of the intermittent streams of tears nevermind owt else
  14. Games going ahead then. No forefitting on account of we deserve one from them like I'd hoped.
  15. Think we've about a 20% chance (and thats up from a week ago) and yet haven't been able to stop thinking of many winning scenarios down to the full-time and goal commentary. That cant be healthy.
  16. "The Lads Are Hot" - (cant remember) & the lads . The lads being our team part way through the 92/93 promotion season. Suggestion rather than recommendation. The official 98 final song wasn't bad. Black and White Army. Stretches We Wish You Well - Whitesnake. Played at the end of the matches in the 93/94 season and Keegan used to end his interviews with "wish you well", Simply the Best used to play regularly at the time too. Thats Entertainment - was either a piece on netbusters the week after or the end credits of the Oldham away game in 93/94 when the "Entertainers" moniker stuck. Being Boring by the Pet Shop Boys because the video mentions Newcastle and apart from the season it was released its true 'we were never being boring' - was so proud seeing that on pan-European Satellite Jukebox. While were on the subject Does anybody have Merci Daveed by Busker?
  17. Though I don't fancy our chances at all - the idea of being one game away from being in a parallel universe feels forbiddenly strange. Best of luck everyone, hope we've broke on through to the other side when next we chat

Its an interesting point about Bayern at the Allianz. They rarely filled the Olympic Stadium so probably thought 75k was about all they'd need. Presuming its nearer the city centre. Definitely need to avoid that problem as it doesn't look like they can expand. The 'news' has at least allowed us to know how we'd feel about a Leazes Park stadium and moving. 1st option was always to stay at SJP and somehow crack the accursed East Stand/Leazes Terrace problem and get another tier on the Gallowgate but I'd be fine with this as it turns out.

Wish I hadn't checked their craic out now. The lads that say they make stuff up to get angry about are spot on. Remember when we never forgave Sir Bobby for once losing to them?
  20. To be there in case it happens for me. To maybe justify it all. Was fully prepared to go to Gothenburg for the UEFA Cup final when we lost to Marseilles in the semi, knowing with its small capacity there was a good chance of not getting a ticket and the 98 FA Cup final if it went to a replay.
  21. Wonder how I'd feel if we just performed for once. Would have been relatively accepting had Schar not scored the equaliser in the home game such a pleasant surprise was the performance. Not sure how it would transfer to a final.

The football coaching department was housed in that building too which made even less sense. I've seen Bob Murray himself have to walk over for some reason at times. One time he walked right past my boots that I'd left outside (by the van we were getting in or something) and he looked at them in disgust as I was going back out to them. Should have organised the stadium build better the miserable c*nt.

    St James' Park

Eye of the beholder stuff, but them and e.g. Ibrox are so much better to my pallet than Bayern's - which is externally hideous to me. Even like that some clubs in Europe use the old stadium limits as entrances to the grounds (turnstile areas) of the new ones.
