Without Barnes' contributions this season in his limited appearances we finish nearer midtable and the same people would be hopping mad we didn't sign somebody of his ilk. Brighton can afford this because they sell players. Its the same soulless shit for them.

Competitiveness used to generally, and players here from other countries even said it, said to be what marked our league out for better or worse. Outside of the elites many mentioned above, the rest had a cannon-fodder feel to it and no hope of overhauling the establishment. Until Man United's dominance there wasn't a sense here that any number of clubs couldn't be the top boy and sustain it. The Newcastle, Leeds or Villa equivalent in those countries had no chance of doing that but we all had those hopes whilst challenging for titles in 90s. That's only possible with money because, ironically they (the elite) made it that way through commercialising football to advantage themselves in the first place. Now were going about making our league exactly like those.

FMV should see the TV money reduced since they'll be paying for a league that no longer has an unlimited amount of clubs theoretically able to challenge and win it and prospectively only a big 3. No further superclubs, no changes and outlawed ambition.

They're weirdly disproportionately hell bent on either massively holding clubs back or punishing them for things that until a few years ago nobody would have batted an eye-lid at. The amount of legislature and how quickly they're coming up with it seems so unlike them

Watched consecutively Denmark-Serbia, Belgium-Ukraine and first half of Czech-Turkey not a single goal and absolutely terrible games

Don't buy that its unfair to go out on 4points. Its no different to a team finishing top on 5 and a team finishing 2nd on 7. That's the point of groups ffs. (Italy went out on 5pts of course)

Another game I'm not enjoying at all

Anybody should fancy Holland in the 2nd round. They're the worst team through to date.

Just give the self appointed elite a 10point head start instead of deducting points off everybody else and let everybody else do what they like thereafter. Daft as it sounds it is less messy, more honest and more fun than what they're imposing on football.

WTF?! Were unlucky only to draw having been the better team for nearly the entire game and battered them most of the second half. Croatia are the higher ranked team too. Weren't hoying missles all match either.

Feel like were passed over-reach territory now - preventing clubs that easily afford it from spending, dictating what revenue a club can make, dictating what transfer business a club can do. Outrageous that any one of those things has got through really and the pretence doesn't even apply to the latter two.

Any pretence that this is to protect anybody outside the 6 (well 5 really since they're baying for City's blood) was laughable from the start but this is just daylight robbery now and becomming normalised They'd rather punish ambitious clubs than allow competition.

Defender got his arm in front of him but the Scot made the bundled mess that took them both down. Extremeley little in the incident until then.
