Absolutely right. I still expect to beat these all things being equal match by match and certainly finish above them without mitigating circumstances. Have maintained its the squad thinness with added European football thats our weak point.

I see that the substitutes that folk were crying/whinging/criticising the manager for not making, are now getting slaughtered by the same people. Happens every time.

For some of our fans but in the bigger picture and objectively its not. A 3rd round tie and a derby match doesn't take precedent over CL pushes and league-cup semis objectively.

Bored just imagining the more than a month of building up to it and their treating it like the cup final it is to them Their biggest game in years is probably our least big game outside of City/United in the league cup since Sheffield Wed last year. Wouldn't hve minded binning the cup off especially if we get to the league-cup semis with the injuries, cant now.

Preferred it when groups at finals were harder than qualifying groups

Always mindful of their spawnyness too.

Aye that's a good point. There's been games I've gone purely to get my money's worth. Dragged myself off a sick bed to get to Feyenoord and slept in one time and was like Bambi on ice trying to get to a game against Coventry under Sir Bobby. Would be more inclined not to risk such things or scurry up from the bars at the last minute if I was only losing a tenner.

Woodgate would have been acceptable but not Howe.

They've now lost more games at this stage of the season than we had in our worst ever season under Ossie, but if they win their next game they'll tell you how good they are. and when Brighton play tonight that'll be 31 teams from England to have played more games in Europpe than them would have been worse if Coventry, Luton, Oxford and Wimbledon weren't banned

Sounds all completely above board -
There was little room for improvement in our first XI but he's enhanced us, when that sweet sweet day finally comes and everyone's available.

I'm not bothered either way about the Europa league. I think our chances of getting CL again next year via the league without it and the fixture congestion is at least as high as with it but without the risk of fatigue/injuries. Fully fit squad I fear nobody bar City.
