  1. Clubs season reviews dont show replays of goals against, often cant wait to cut away from the goal, some dont even show goals against but they've gone all out on replays too, in these circumstances!?

They've done that classic thing again of getting way more carried away with things than surely anybody else would, 3wins this time (though it was after only 2 that they were fancying their chances against us and Milan in fairness) only to get fitting comeuppance to that neursosis in that inimitable style of theirs, losing at home to Cardiff the latest one. .
  3. Every team is going to have half-chances even in a pummelling or a part of the game where they're not getting pummelled. Bet Sheffield Wednesday had a few attacking situations against us in that 8-0 maybe even got a few shots off and maybe looked competitive for a times. Its never complete and utter dominance..... ..except West Ham in 96.
  4. Wish I could pinpoint the exact moment Rafa mentally scarred this bitter bullshitting bastard

20years of being able to rock up to home games and pick which row of which stand you fancy sitting in that day must have gave the false impression that that's how it works but its just pure cretinous idiocy to think you can take an unlimited amount of fans to another stadium let alone one in another country. Must think when cup finals come around the majority of fans of those clubs just cant be bothered to turn up. How many did they take to their Milan in the Champions League equivalent - Luton for their biggest game in years? And he's a big cheese with his 'striker' rank with this knowledge!
  6. Found that satisfying myself. Okay this wasn't a debut but a return after a 20year absence isn't far off that, but until Leicester we were the only English side to win their debut in the Champions League. A draw at Milan not good enough for us. Presume the others got slaughtered for their draws and losses against weaker opponents yet dont recall it.
  7. Just a personal and unprofessional outlook but I'm not bothered about performances in games like that. Its not indicative of anything unless the status quo was to comfortably beat them. I wasn't looking for that on either of the last two CL seasons either, like this just not to get battered at a new level, especially with Barcelona and away at Milan.

    Kieran Trippier

Stuff of leadership, even if he hadn't played as well as he did, his mere presence in that situation was very assuaging. Even if its all psychological its valuable. Like having Beardsley back that first season in the PL.
  9. Its as much the perhaps coincidental effect on Bruno and maybe just the established way we had as opposed Tonali himself that's worries. Could be completely unrelated of course and just a drop in form.
  10. 100% agree with him though I'd be inclined to say it was't a legit text (no name) - but then you see some people on here that are as bad as a windup text and wonder.
  11. Some people aren't even trying to be supportive or look at the context. Relative to slagging off a bunch of players and team collectively that's got us even to the stage where we can draw in Milan people are far more entitled to their views a lack of support and humility in posts.
  12. Tell you what mind. I was already convincved we'd drop back in the league because of CL football and have been an advocate of the 94/95 similarity but I'm totally convinced about that now. Folk are going to have to come to terms with that and accept its goes with the territory - success/club at this point in its growth.
  13. Unbeaten in the San Siro. Three games no losses. That's gotta be rare.
  14. I think Andreas Andersson is booked in for the half-time hero. "he's got to be good if he's coming from Milan" i said.
  15. Didn't take it that way. Was reimbursing your point.
  16. A reminder of where we are in this journey, well ahead of schedule and reward for his hard work and attitude.
  17. I'm less confident after their weekend result than before. Hate playing teams after such a damaging loss for the redoubled efforts and response. But its all a bonus so what they hey.

I think that's the way it will go based on previous occasions. Its very cyclical and seems based on how full of themselves or not they are at the time. If they accept they're no competition they're left to just get on with it. But when they get carried away, full of themselves like were competitive over the slighest thing - and milk two 2-1 wins and 7th place finishes more than we milked an era of being lightyears ahead of them it recharges things for a while. Like being ahead of us after 3games in 96/97, slap downs are required having amounted to little more than a result you heard leaving the ground or on the radio for the previous 4years as was the case under Sir Bobby and now. In the end we finished 2nd and qualified for the CL whilst they were relegated but it came back around with the two 2-1 wins and 7th place finishes followed by relegation for them and CL football for us again, right up to the present post Ashley/post Ashley era.
  19. Gets forgotten, including by me until watching the highlights a few years back, how well we played that night. Far better than the 3-2 and most definitely deserved to win. First CL away game 20years on at the site of the last CL away game. 2-2 draw and a dodgy refereeing display would be apt.

I agree with that as that's the line they will play but knowing its not the case and having made the mistake of not rubbing their noses in it when were at this level and they were...well them on previous occasions, only for them to do just that when finishing 4points ahead or winning a one off game - so can see both sides, much like a bridge.
  21. Do these for those ffp breaches and put all of us out of their misery please.
  22. Yet you criticised last seasons NUFC just as much as this.
  23. Yes. They could have gone top with a win and just the sort of team that used to do us over at the time (Tranmere, Southend, Notts County), know I pretty much wrote it off and was pleasantly surprised. Same here. Saw some bloke just ahead of us hooked into an alley as we walked up to the away end for the coca-cola game in 92. Hard to believe they hadn't long since perfected that art.

So your club comes nowhere near selling out an away game 3hours drive away at Coventry and a week later you feel emboldened to have a go at your rivals for selling out more tickets for Milan away just not instantly. What next, getting worked up at people wearing your rivals shirts in areas historically populated by people that support your rivals or the north run being held where its always been held again this year?
  25. Sadly there's nothing new under the sun. You expected stuff like that at matches in the 80s (Liverpool's Munich chant, racism, Millwall all bets off, we used to sing about setting West Ham fans on fire). Its regressing with soft c*nts that feel emboldened for some reason football related and generally. Those hooligan films coincided with this neavau wannabe hooligan trend, then there's this growth in this sort of sick, unfunny stuff in general like rape threats and stuff online, which is itself a factor.
