Weird. Reading that, they were the team that came to mind for me and only because of a random thing in the mid 90s, think their's was the only game on one day or something. I've already forogtten that team that beat Aberdeen last year.

The ball looked no more out than modern corners look out of the corner section on any angle. I still cant always get my mind around how they look having been so used to them being clearly within the quadrant but if someone scores from one of those corners now nobody would analyse it.

Wondered if they'd taken our win, unrelated to them, in their stride, particularly badly, or normally and see were pro Hamas and pro Nazi because we won a game of football. So just the normal reaction then.

If that was more controversial than Sheffield United's penalty then it wasn't by much but the difference in behaviour from Arseholeteta and O'Neil is worlds apart. Especially considering O'Neil had one last week, maybe he's more used to it instead of being a brat used to getting his own way. I'd probably have gave it but Joelinton is expecting a more robust challenge from the Arsenal player rather than trying to push him and angling for a Burn v PSG style towering header, which is why the flight of the ball was totally misread.

If we go down there with a fully fit squad and roll them over, I reckon between Tindall and the away fans we shatter Arteta like.

Didn't do enough really for a title contender against a bereft team - but thats not simple or sexy enough to analyse and discuss.

Don't know how we keep going with the injuries, suspensions and weak squad. To be where we now are in the league with all that considered and the champions league is wow stuff. Cant have anything left for the games ahead but they'll go again with everything.

You're not wrong. It triggers my PTSD from 95/96

Its one thing to undeservedly win - but the late winners, penalty saves feels like sheer effrontery.

Horrible b*stards. There cant have been a team play this badly in every game into November scam this many results. They've been absolutely horrible to watch, flat, disjointed yet again.
-
Thought that said Headstone for a second. Tease.

Something I've noticed us do quite a bit. Tonali for Bruno to cross for Burn against PSG, Wilson to buy Longstaff an extra bit of time against Palace. Its very bright. Even though they wouldn't have stopped the cross/shot coming in the fraction of a seconds difference can help with the composure and measuring of said cross/shot - such a small thing that could make all the difference.

WIsh the draws were on in the mornings again, least let us enjoy this evening.

He's got a finish on him Willock mind. Big Jo and Longy's goals are suspect at times as far as finishes go by comparison by Willock goals medley is seasoned goal-scorer stuff.

My favourite reserve match by some distance this so far

Played and organised like players and manager want the manager to leave.
-
Even if they rally it'll be through momentum or a rollicking not pre-planning, they've scammed by a few times with that already this season but look bad constantly.

Tee hee

Takes me back.

FFP and squad limits coming into their own here. Job done.
-
So that's just Lee, Albert, Howey, Sellars, Fox and Peacock missing from a squad smaller than we have now.

Wasn't any alternative. It would have been much changed even before the injures/suspensions - so more fool anybody expecting anything else tbh. They'd only have moaned about tiredness at the weekend and next week anyway, having moaned about tiredness and not changing players on Saturday gone.

That's wrong on all counts except the shit final but then most finals are. *Most of them were literally on in Prime Time 6-11pm. A lot better than half the games on during work/school or morning's (Japan/Korea) - they changed the times to suit Europe. And its no different to Brazil or Mexico (home of two well remembered tournaments) *It was the best attended world cup in history. The average attendance was 69,000, smallest 44,000 which was as big as it got at Euro96 outside of Wembley and the average or above of previous world cups and was far more full despite the stadium sizes. There was arguements at the time as to whether it was the best or best since 1970. And neither of the next two were close.
-
I think 1966 and 1996 were memorable only to England. Can only really speak for Euro 96 and for whatever reason it was poor if were honest. USA 94 on the other hand was fantastic. I'd give a WC to America before England every day and I'm English. At this point we may as well just say the World Cup starts with the qualifiers and everybody is a joint host. Just designate a neutral venue for the knockouts and be done with it and just skip the inevitable 92 team tournament in 21 co-host venues shit show.

Ignoring and dismissing the views of the two sets of fans with first hand experience of him, who total well over 100,000, 99% of whom hate the bloke, but citing the more favourable appraisal of Ashley of our bitter rivals as sound and objective when the fact they don't hate Ashley is as damning an indictment as you can get is some level of wilful ignorance on top of the usual ignorance (e.g. Ashley 13years v the 13years before - because two exact same duration time-frames juxtaposed wouldn't tell you anything compared to a mackem forum) Like asking Liverpool or City fans for their opinion on the Glazers because Man U fans don't know what they're talking about. Hope they go the same way as West Brom with Bruce. Wouldn't wish Ashley on anyone except for the pricks who actually want him.
