15years to us, but Just Another Day to Cicada's
-
Taped a few of them that year as it was all such a bonus and wasn't sure, after Dalglish and Gullit, they'd last...and sure enough. Sort you out with a copy someday. Sounds like the same one got you as me in the East Stand, otherwise I'd wonder if the old guy wasn't Auld Stevie
-
The one time I thought we'd absolutely lace them and was just a matter of by how much was that promotion season under KK and the weather conspired to make the game a farce really. Big games around the title/CL and big cup games more than take over the mantle and fulfil whatever needs are lost with the derbies and winning those sort of games could be said to have the byproduct of being a sort of victory over them.

Have you got that footage still? I still have it somewhere on tape if you don't, can't do anything with it at the moment, but have the full match on DVD on Spanish TV which uses the same camera footage so might be on that too. The sky perverts did it to me in a game against Leeds in 98, was just minding me own, camera shy and everything. Wouldn't be surprised if that tapes gone. Naff game anyway.

Sometimes I think the Ronnie Radford goal gets played too much Times like this not enough. I wouldn't want to play a non-league team away in the cup but I'd be delighted with Real Madrid.
-
The Ando cackle as the fourth/fifth goal rolls in was becoming a tradition.
-
I really didn't care for that. Game was won and was taking an ovation on debut. Would it kill the arseholes just to had 30second on for the sub or stop the clock instead of, once again, killing a moment.

Nice, happy to go under the radar though and a bit soon to challenge for the title I fancy (by which I mean come April)
-
A win would have been success but ended up a statement that. Imagine coming out of a first game and seeing a growing threatening team that finished 4th just laced a well fancied, big spending team that finished 7th liek that. I'd be intimidated. Wasn't dominant like you'd imagine 5-1's to be until then end but there's different ways to skin that cat and a well justified win against supposedly a very good opponent, and its has to be earned and was.

Always wondered how they got around the Leazes extension (either of them) with the light arguement unless its a newer concept. You could fill in the East Stand/Leazes corner and it wouldnt make any difference to that. I suppose at a certain time of day at a certain time of year an extended Gallowgate would effect light to Leazes Terrace but so would any build theoretically as opposed to plains. That next street down I presume isn't listed so wont have the same problems despite it being a lot tighter.

Cant remember the last time these got beat at home and there wasn't some, what must be, completely coincidental aggro. Was gonna make some glib remark about "Crewes missiles" when it was just bottles on the pitch too

FFP seems to be forcing Everton and Wolves into a sort of Leeds/Portsmouth situation despite the fact they're not financially in that position. Makes it look more like the horseshit it is for me if so and could harness a 'cant win why try' status quo mentality amongst clubs and eventually fans. Which can't be good but not far from what the elites probably had in mind with it.

Brett off of Alien I heard.

Don't suppose you've still got that BB? Or anybody? Recently discovered my tape of it to have been thrown out. Can replace the match but not the full-show and remember the atmosphere in the box being awkward he sulked that much. not helped by Dalglish being Dalglish.
-
Classic Spurs. The big 4, the big 6, Super League, Mbappe. Coat-tail c*nts

Sad and shocked He played before my time but like Dalglish when I watch them back they were sumptuous beautiful football players. Took Sheffield Wednesday down to the last minute of the penultimate weekend of the 91/92 season with a shout of the title and tried, often succeeded, to have them play in his style too.

Very big bonus. Home grown and not token looking at all. Hadn't factored him in much when thinking about the lay of the land squad-wise so even more placated now.

Must be getting the under-dog rub. Didn't even think they were the better team when people were pissing all over the bed linen in the first half. -

When you're looking for a nice nothing to lose game of enjoyable football on an evening/morning you always end up getting roped in don't you? Like a ZDS/Anglo-Italian game. -

Gonna be unbearable when we go 1-0 down in the Bernabeu this season. -

USA 94 vibes for me. Holland v Saudi Arabia at 2.30 in the AM with a vested interest because of our strong links to Ulrich Van Gobbel. He was terrible and Holland lucky not to lose. -

An injury is the worst thing that can happen in these things. Still shudder at that Shearer one at Everton. Winning the Ireland cup wasn't much consolation. -
Based on things that don't count with us (fan numbers) and things that don't count at all (Europe and the last 60years) they probably are Think when Brighton play their 5th European game this season there will be over 30 English clubs to have played more European football than Sunderland. Now not many big clubs can boast that.
