They’d get nowhere near that 20m + has been the rumoured price aye?
-
We need to be looking at a long-term replacement for Trippier, plus the more quality we have in squad depth the better.
-
Shelvey is reportedly on 80k and Wood similar.

Pele would get a hard on watching us, I know I do! -
I wouldn’t mind us going in for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, I know he’s lost his way a bit recently, but he has many good attributes and under Howe I’m sure he’d Improve massively.

Newcastle United vs. Leeds United - 31/12/22 @ 3pm (No UK TV)

Botman will score today, I can feel it in my bones. -
I disagree, I also think his confidence defensively is at a low ebb, he was very good defensively against Leicester for example. He’s also very young, played a huge number of games, mostly in a pressurised environment and I just think people need to cut him a bit slack. He’s a potential world-class talent, again though I’d say Reece is the much better all-rounder and he too isn’t a full-back for me, he can okay midfield easily as he’s that good.
-
I honestly think it’s about his gait/running style, he’s not the type to bust a gut physically despite having pace, he plays with a languid style. My good mate is a LFC season ticket holder and says he expends so much energy as do their whole team playing a high intensity game some players use up most of their energy getting forward and pressing etc. I personally think he’s a tremendous talent and isn’t a right-back or a defender. I wouldn’t know where to fully play him mind as he’s quite unique as a footballer.

Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)

He’s only going there for Delia’s food and drinks and a pay-off, that’s if they give it to him. Football is well and truly fucked even if a club like Norwich look at that cabbage head and think, wey yer know hmmmm, he’s the answer. -
He’s not shit defensively, it just gets highlighted more because of a) who he is and b) he’s perceived to be a right-back. Which he isn’t, that’s just where he starts out positionally. He’s more of a wing-back or attacking inverted right midfielder which is where on the ball he often plays or occupies. Me, you want all your players to be defensively switched on whether you’re an ACM or a star CF, but look at what he gives going forward, that’s what I want from a player.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season

This is how considerate the man is, when he posed for a photo with my boy (well it was the other way round really) he said is it OK if he puts his arm around him and gives him a little chat (he’d won MOTM against his boy’s team), he refused a kiss off me though which I don’t blame him with my trampy beard He’s fucking great and I’m so happy for him just as a person, never mind our manager. -

Aye, it’s been weird feeling nervous and anxious and waking up on match day all giddy at the thought of us losing or winning or drawing. Under Ashley/Pardew/Carver/Bruce it was a case of either not even giving two fucks or wanting us to lose. We should be beating these, here is to 3 points hopefully, which would be massive going into the January transfer window. -
Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
King HTT III replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
Great post, Emery was my first choice, but I’ve always rated Howe and was happy enough when we appointed him and now I’m obviously fucking delirious with the job he’s done and having met the man, well, he’s fucking lush. KK vibes about him! -
You can’t really condemn Ronaldo for choosing to go over there for such a huge pay day. He’s done it all and established himself as one of the GOAT players. It says more about the game itself than the player when such sums are being thrown at them. Football definitely needs a reset like. Has he tarnished his career somewhat? Undoubtedly, but I’m sure he doesn’t really care at this point.
-
Trent’s not a right-back or full-back or a right midfielder, he’s someone who should be given licence to play anywhere on the pitch as his passing, crossing, vision and pace and ability to get up and down the pitch is brilliant. I think he’s very good, Reece is similar, but a better player for me.
-
Definitely, what made them stand out was their humanity for other people and how they used their excellence in their sport to good effect to help humanity. Ali and Pele are the goat of their respective sports for me and arguably two of the greatest ever sports people full stop.
-
Tielemans Is obviously a decent player, and maybe if we are actually interested in him Howe is looking at a different approach going forward, but right now he doesn’t seem to have the stamina or physicality to get up and down the pitch and press left right and centre in the high intensity way we try to play. I can’t see this one happening, lazy journalism and maybe agent talk? He’d be better running his contract down and available on a free where you would imagine he’d have a host of clubs after him. I wouldn’t say no of course… Maddison for me though please!

Stayed up into the wee hours of the morning watching/reading a shit tonne of stuff about the great man, honestly the things you see on a modern day pitch by some of the top players today and even some of the not so top players, he was doing it at 15 and learned his mastery using a sock filled with paper and rolled into a ball. He had his affairs and such, but he always seemed humble and a very good human off the pitch and obviously loved the game. The ‘US wouldn’t have ‘soccer’ without him. He got criticised for using his name for commercial purposes, but the man had to make a living and today he’d be a billionaire if he did the same today. loved how he played in black and white too for Santos

That’s why Brazil is my 3rd fave footballing team behind NUFC and England and my first real taste of Brazil was USA ‘94 having grown up of tails of all the legends, inspired by Pele and I was absolutely in awe of Romario for example. The game has changed and Brazil are not quite that mesmerising team of individuals and flair and probably never will be again, but there is no nation on the earth that produce players quite like Brazil in terms of that unique flair and that’s mostly down to Pele.
-
Every trick, skill, piece of flair and imagination my 9 year old shows when he plays football which he has quite a range of from the chop, the rebarno, stopovers, the so-called Cruyff or Maradona turn and spin, the elastico etc., Pele basically invented all them and gifted the world of football and future payers that otherwise we’d still be watching players just kick and run, kick and rush. There has been many a great player, but Pele was the fucking OG!
-
My two fave all time sports people outside of NUFC players like KK, Cole, Shearer and wee Hughie! They did so much in terms of civil rights and the fight against racism and discrimination, great human beings. I’m currently just watching anything I can about Pele, with tears in my eyes, even when I wasn’t into football as a kid I knew the name of Pele and knew he must have been special when your dad, uncles and every other elder basically said the best there ever has been and ever will be was Pele!
-
Pele was and is the beautiful game!
-
Ah this is hitting me hard, just told my boy and he started to cry which started me off!
-
Ah no, he will always be the goat for me
