Alexander Isak - Nominated for Player of the Season
King HTT III replied to Disco's topic in Football
Some great movement and could have had two goals, but obviously very rusty. Great to see him back in a Toon Saudi top. -
Absolutely awful, weak as piss, no awareness and it’s about time we just get rid, along with Lewis and Ritchie. Nothing players for us.

Anderson has shown good strength on the ball in terms of being marked, and he does look to play forward passes always looking up, but the movement has been piss poor other than Isak. Just as well we have Wood on the bench… -

Shit and scrappy game. Joelinton and Manquillo our best players. Lewis and Murphy need peddled as soon as possible. -
Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

I’m hoping he is ‘ill’, because we don’t want a player falling out with the management or vice versa, but I can see us looking to sell him in the summer or if we got a big bid in this January. He’s injury prone, not as reliable when he’s on the pitch with his numbers as Wilson is who is more injury prone and he seems very selfish on and off the pitch and I know for a fact Howe has instructed him to focus hard on his training and game and not other things and has doubts that he’s pulling his weight in training like he should (probably a by product if the Bruce era). But I doubt Howe would hold a grudge unless a player basically was being a complete cunt. -
Would he fuck, he doesn’t believe in human rights in Saudi nor supports SAFC. He’ll probably do what he does worse, post endlessly on tw@tter and get zero likes.

Hope he gets a goal and an assist or two and performs well. Proud moment for him and his family today. Howay lad! -
I’d rather we beat them…

Off the ball he’s been much better under Howe, on the ball less so. If he wants to be a top player he needs to combine both. I’m not fussed if we let him go or keep him, I trust Howe and I do think we can bring in someone better. -
Ah right, bloody hell sounds like Bellamy.
-
When did Bellamy become a co commentator, thought he was a coach at Antwerp or some Belgium club?

The new Belgium then… -
Aye he’s the best I’ve seen for us at RB. He’s Nobby like with his passing and crossing too when further forward on that right wing. Great bit of business by the club. More of the same please.

Some of my family are Villa fans and they can’t stand Digne and wish they never let Targett go, thankfully they couldn’t stand Gerrard either and called him out after about 6 games. They are loving Emery though!
-
He’s won a WC and got to other finals, he’s not the most exciting manager, but results speak for themselves. The players seem to respond to him as well, well apart from Benzema. They have enough talent that whoever manages them will do well enough in any tournament. I’d never want him as a club manager mind.

It’s weird how certain players can bring so much to the team, we break the world record for Alan Shearer and although he obviously was great for us, he wasn’t a transformative player where as a 750k Rob Lee was or a 50k Kilkline. Or Ba on a free and now a 32 year-old RB.
-
We weren’t a bad team, but we were not a good team either, Robert and Bellamy especially transformed us. The most transformative player for me outside of the PL was Kilkline and when we got promoted, Beardsley. Then Robert and Bellamy jointly and probably followed by Ba, ASM mainly because without him Bruce would have been fucked and thus ourselves and now obviously Trippier. Botman has that similar feel.
-
He’s not only been a great player for us, he’s been a great leader on of the pitch, he’s basically our own Eddie Howe out there on the pitch. I’ve always rated him, but didn’t realise how so good he is technically, his first touch is superb, his vision, passing, crossing and he still has his pace. He can defend as well. He can play right or left back and for me in our set up basically plays as a winger, he’d be able to play in a frontline forward three IMO. He will go down as one of our best signings of the PL era.

Ah no, so sad. RIP great man. He wrote a book about coaching and the differences between Italian and English football which I still have, I’ll give it a read this week.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
King HTT III replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
I’ll not say just to respect his privacy, sorry. And he’s a good player and they are a decent team. -
Boro would be ideal. Very local, a Geordie manager, we can keep more of an eye on him, better league, well way better really, decent chance of promotion and he has the chance to notch against the mackems.
-
Botman is consistent in when he gets the ball he first or tries to play it, Schar likes to get the ball and move with it. As a result they compliment each other so well, two top CB’s on and off the ball IMO. Our best centre-back pairing of the PL era?
