  1. Have it on good authority that Sekso has woken up. Still deciding if he should go to the kitchen or the bathroom.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I dont expect our revenue to suddenly increase massively to fund our growth, so wouldn't mind a punt or two on talented championship players that we can shift at a profit later on. We may need to trade our way to success.
  3. this late in the party nothing wrong with sloppy seconds if it means we crack our nut
  4. ok. thx. so logically if they accept, we must have sorted personal terms out already and the deal is done
  5. Did we not bid a week or a more ago? I was expecting confirmation of a deal not the start of dealings
  6. Liked him as player at the level we were at. Always gave his all. We outgrew him simple as that. Not his fault he was given a monster deal. Good Luck with the rest of your career Isaac.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Considering Brentford lost Mbuemo and dont want to lose Wissa, they have no incentive to close a deal quickly and we seem intent on not giving them an incentive by low balling on the deal. If I was them I would drag this out until deadline day and add 5m per week to the price. Unless we convince them with cash they dont have to move and the player is not kicking up a fuss to make them move either.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

over and above your points above its crazy that we only figuring out much later that players would prefer another club/city. We lacking in the dark arts of transfers at this level. how to circumvent tapping up rules, how to use the media and the 'for hire' social media twats to our advantage. We trying to play with a straight bat in a limited overs game when the run rate is against us.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

We playing in a completely different market than we used to and I suspect we lacking the experience to deal with the characters we encountering now who are likely seasoned super agents and experienced execs. Not every lesson should be learnt the hard way, get some help fast

Can't comment on whether Ashworth is the answer but I agree on beefing up the negotiating team with some experienced consultants so we can run multiple deals in parallel and gather some momentum. fucking glacial pace and focusing on one solution at a time.

Saw that and wondered how a professional footballer is weak at holding on to the ball and passing. I guess its relative. Then Miggy popped in my head....

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

There are enough games to keep all 4 happy (assuming Gallacher comes) and bring Miley along. Not like Bruno, Tonali and Big Joe are going to play every game for the entire season. We need to rotate and adapt with different tactics for different opposition. As the squad evolves and more quality players are added there must be an acceptance that its no longer about who is first choice and who isn't. It's about what's best to get a result on the day. Lots of quality players left out of first 11 at other teams and then they come in later to do a job and others drop out. It's EH job to keep them all onboard and engaged

Gallacher for me. None of the others mentioned or our current crop can cover for Big Joe who will incur suspension/s as our hardman and has been susceptible to injuries recently. Sell Longstaff, get Gallacher and midfield is sorted.
  15. Finally!! Trust Eddie and the team to work their magic on the boy and we will have one helluva player on our hands

So who is responsible for the negotiations now with sellers, and then leading discussions with the NUFC board to get sign off? Apologies if this may have been addressed on earlier posts

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

agreed. We have had a lot on field success in a very short period of time and I get the sense that building the off field infrastructure to either maintain and further those ambitions is lagging and understandably so considering Cashly hollowed out the club in every way he could. Building that up will take time and I am talking about revenue streams, facilities, sponsorship etc, and pipelines of players from feeder teams, to your point around squad players and then a plan for elite additions. Not too mention the impact of leadership turnover plus DOFs. The only leadership consistency has been EH and team. We targeting the Elite now because we have material gaps of quality in the squad, and the club will likely rely on the like of Willock, Longstaff etc as squad players for now. Its going to take a long time to be where we would like to be and it's a well oiled machine

Liked Alcaraz even when he was at Saints. Strange player though as he does not seem to readily fit into traditional positions, IMHO. We should have moved on from that level of talent though which sounds a strange thing to say considering our transfer success this window

Saw a post on SSN that Porto were looking to bid for Harwood-Bellis and the price mentioned was fairly cheap. If we can overlook the stuff counting against him - double barrel surname and soon to be part of the Keane family, surely at a decent price he should be worth a punt England international, right footed CB who is good in the air and much cheaper than Guehi.
  20. Even out on the ass end of Africa, the Toon Army were representing. Grown men in tears for what was achieved today. We followed you from the Entertainers to when Sir Bobby pulled us up from our boot straps, and then the dark days of Cashley, we persevered despite being thousands and thousands of miles away. How insane it is that we can connect with a people, a region, a passion and be on the opposite side of the globe. We love you Newcastle and today you showed up and made us proud. I am beside myself with joy. Thank You
  21. Absolute shit today. An example of how to fuck up months of hard work in one afternoon. Speechless really
  22. we were in second gear that entire half and Brighton were slack in there passing which helped us. We need to bring more energy second half as Brighton could come out with momentum on their side. That was school boy defending for their goal
  23. Not consistently good today but the patches during which we were on song was quite enjoyable. Tonali goal will live long in my memory. Didn't understand the changes though. Not questioning taking Bruno and Isak off but would have wanted Osula up front. Not convinced with playing without a front man to help us get back up the pitch. We just tend to sit back then and invite danger. The reshuffling of the midfield every 5 minutes thereafter was confusing to say the least
  24. Tonali really busting a gut to get us back into this
