Been awesome this season, very consistent and just unassuming in getting the job done. A selfish me would want him to stay away from the national team and rather have a good break and come back raring as he is not the most robust in our squad. But his performances surely must be getting noticed by Tuchel. I wonder if being unassuming and understated is counting against him. I dont hear pundits mentioning him a lot when it comes the LB position at national level yet his performances certainly merit being mentioned.

Once Wissa is up and running I suspect our chances created will improve significantly. His movement and runs behind alone with offer options to our midfield and our ball playing CBs. You can literally see them being exasperated with Wallys lack of movement upfront (EH will have to find a solution to use Wally effectively) So would be looking for a versatile younger defender, our current crop are excellent but not very robust. I would like a more attacking midfielder but they are bloody expensive and would rather use Wally as a 10 and look for another out and out striker to be funded by selling Osula to the Germans who seem to have a hard on for him. The idea should be to move us back to how we played when the rat was upfront, high press, intensity and our wingers high up the pitch which is where they are best suited. None of them are technically gifted enough to be bringing the ball up from our half consistently, they need the ball ahead of them running into space.

Just seamlessly stepped into the fray and is now one of the first names on the team sheet. consistently high performance levels in each game. His anticipation and positioning is pretty awesome to watch. Seems a bargain of the decade at today's prices.

Much improved last night and more involved, certainly his best outing for us. Kinda felt that Elanga was put on the main stage on the weekend and we know how that ended, last night was Jacobs chance. QF cup game, let's see what you can do. I think he passed the test which should be great for his confidence.

I couldn't get past trying to figure out how a professional football throws a football match, let alone a QF of a cup competition when we are the holders So I guess I am not of use to on this one.

wouldn't alleviate my concerns about our overall performances being below par and the need to have some reinforcements in Jan. But I won't be having the pitch forks out.

We need a stonking good, in your face performance to even begin making up for the shit show over the weekend. Wissa up top, and some fucking runs behind the opposition defence which Schar should enable and the headband boys watching from the bench. Anything less would entrenched the view that there some serious questions that need to be asked about this bunch, players and management both.
-
that was a tough watch. Why the fuck does none of our attackers players even attempt to make a run behind their defence. Everything played in front of them at a ponderous pace.

He lost the plot today along with many others. bloody hell this is so poor

Would really really like to see Miley make his mark tonight, more authoritative performance and more forward looking. He has it in his locker.
-
unless we change formation, probably only going to see it when we chasing a game. It is an interesting puzzle to solve though. If we stick to the same formation then our wingers and some in our midfield 3 need be looking to go beyond him most of the time.
-
wonderful on the ball. I am really interested in how we setup to get the best out of him. He is more 10 than 9.

You just a ray of sunshine on this thread

I am pretty sure Wolves are going to feel the full brunt of the experiences of the past 3 games. The dark cloud of the rat has lifted from the squad and it's handbrake off, 2 raring to go strikers and nobody sulking in a corner.
-
Think this the part that annoys me most with the behavior of the rat. If we got JPedro and Mbeumo and Trafford, and kept the rat, we would have been serious challengers. The excitement I had about JPedro and Isak together was next level. Now we back to building again while our rivals have stolen a march, but this is our path so we must take it

Now that Ratinho is no more, should be giving Eddie his flowers for the calm collected manner in which he managed this situation when I am pretty sure he must have been seething inside most days. Having to deal with the same shit every presso, while trying to keep the rest of the squad focused. He had no playbook to call on yet managed it better than expected. I actually feel proud that he is growing as much as the club is growing and this past shit show is going to be a great learning experience when looking back on it. Thanks Eddie. ps: not that I want us to go through anything of the sort again.

Now that I have calmed down and listened to some observations about the move, I am at 'fuck it' let's move on. Wolves are going to get a fucking hammering at home, we have 2 strikers who can't wait to play for us, the rest of the squad and Eddie no longer have a dark cloud hanging over the place and the stadium will be rocking. As for the rat...there was no way on earth that he could reintegrate after all the events and there was no way we could let him rot for the rest of the season and the drama would have carried on each week and ultimately cause more damage. So the club got what they deemed was the best value considering above and apparently he left some loyalty bonuses on the table. His behavior was atrocious and he will always be known for THAT no matter how many goals he scores or trophies won. He will only be loved in Liverpool.
-
Would have been 10 if we kept Isak and signed Joao Pedro/Ekitike and Mbeumo But we largely raised the floor and after missing out on top targets, we dipped into riskier assets which could have the potential to be very valuable to us (Elanga, Woltemade, Thiaw, Ramsey) however only time will tell. So it is a 7 for me, looking back three years from now it could turn out to have been 10.
-
He actually came on full of energy and I thought 'here we go, someone willing to take the game to them' Then things just petered out. But 3 games in, new club and no recognized striker as a target. He will get better.
-
I don't think he needs more game time at this level because he is lacking some of the basics of being a PL striker. There are some strikers with half his raw skills in this league that scores goals because of their movement and nous about the position. He needs to learn that first if he intends being a PL striker. Whether or not he is actually a CF is another story. I cannot find a position suited to his current skill set.

well played Sean, and good luck for the rest of the season
