The way I see it is: - Newcastle have basically agreed to play the full price - Man United wont be able to match it. Newcastle know this. - they’ve made their bid public (through NE news reporters) to put pressure on the deal. Romano has not got involved as he plays for the player agents. - Šeško initial decision is probably going to be Man United - Newcastle hope that Man United can’t agree a deal as Leipzig can play hard ball with them as they say they have a deal on the table and say match it or walk away So we’re playing a slightly different tactic than the Mbeumo transfer when they basically let the player decide the initial preference then walked away and Brentford and Man united eventually had to find an agreement. So it will come done to player power. Given Šeško, even to this point, has apparently not made his decision, Leipzig can maybe argue even though its not first choice its still a very good choice and your only one as Man United can’t afford transfer. We’re kind of doing the transfer old school where the bidding war would come first. Then the club would allow the player to talk after the war was over.
