Hall has every single attribute needed to be an advanced playmaker. I remember reading a Chelsea forum when we signed him and they all said he fancied himself as a cm. Id LOVE to see that experiment. He's always looking for a progressive pass. He's quick. He can dribble a bit. Strong little frame can handle challenges. Imagine if our left back of the future turns out to be our 10 of the future hahaha. Almost like Jow being our record CF turning into a class box to box or ball winning mid.

Id agree. Maybe asides from holding up the ball with his back to goal and laying the ball off wide or back. He plays with his head down a lot. We need someone who's got his head up and can pick a pass. Honestly it would be easier for us to move Bruno forward and sign a holding mid.

Not many clubs play with 2 up top anymore. I think he's fine up there alone but needs more support from a cam type. The wingers also need to stop being selfish and look to pick him out more instead of cutting in and trying to shoot. Would also be nice to see more of us playing him balls into his feet as opposed to spamming through balls. I'm convinced he just needs a cam to play behind him and Gordon on the right to supply him. He's done fantastic considering the lack of service and having to play multiple roles at once + being the spearhead of Eddie's pressing system. He's wearing a lot of hats and I think Gordon on the right and a proper cam who can link the cm to the attack would be amazing. Alternatively we could sign a proper CDM and free up Bruno to be higher up the pitch and play a more advanced cm role.

I agree. I would say his best performances have come at LW. But i think his attributes overall are better suited to being a CM. He's also improves a lot with his passing and overall IQ in the midfield. Being around bruno must help.

Been watching him for years. Was a football manager wonderkid. Very talented but I dont see him winning over Howe with his anemic workrate. Makes more sense as a 10 than as a winger for us. Eddie demands a lot from his wingers. I really cant imagine him being much help to the young fullback behind him if played on the wing. He's a "streets will never forget" type player though. Taraabt Ben Arfa etc.

How many minutes have we had with Gordon and Barnes on at the same time? Usually late in the second half when we are trailing. Would like to see us do it more from the start. Bruno Tonali Jow in mid from the start is another i want to see more of.

Honestly I dont know if I want a RW. I am open to us playing Gordon RW and Barnes LW for a few matches to see how it works. I think Barnes does the cut in from the left and shoot as an inside forward thing better than Gordon. I think Gordons play style is very well suited to being a more traditional winger who beats his man and gets to the byline. That cross for Isak the other match. I'd like to see him play RW. I want us to sign a world class CB. I'm not banking on Botman coming back and playing like he did in our top 4 season. I'd love it but im not expecting it. Also Schar isnt young. Burn is ideally a squad player. Kelly can be cover at LB and at CB. This team would look much better with a VERY good CB. Having a depth or developmental RW would be nice. If we spend big I think it should be a CB. Maybe one of the younger portugese ones.

I hear you but the 10 is a dead position currently. Can't think of many 10s in the modern game. Especially in England. I'm playing devils advocate as I agree we need a link between cm and cf. I think the easier and more logical option is to get a traditional cdm who frees Bruno up to play that type of role. What do I know I'm just a football manager addict. Id like to see a proper disrupter who plays as a 3rd CB when needed. Joelinton is a box to box. We need a player who sits back. Just my observation

We don’t have a backup striker. Wilson can’t be relied on due to health. We would be crazy to loan him out. Not to mention he can play on the right and get a cameo in matches. Start in cup games to give Isak a break etc.

I doubt it’s due to liverpool or playing on the RW. The whole team looks off. Bruno was yelling and celebrating winning throw ins. Joe was dominating teams physically in every single 50/50. I could go on but it’s a player who hasn’t had a summer off in 2 years and plays a very physically demanding style. He has had a dip in energy and form and enthusiasm like the rest of the side. He was god awful today but I think it’s silly to assume he’s playing like shit to go to liverpool. If that’s the case Bruno is doing the same to go to madrid.

I think it’s a mix of tactics and the players looking flat. Doesn’t have to be one or the other. Eddie is quite stubborn. Tonali should have played. Burn/Kelly just handicaps our LW. No reason for Tino to sit. It’s pretty obvious that our midfield needs major tweaking. We look outnumbered and overrun in almost every single match. The players need a more consistent effort like we saw a season ago. We were ready to go from kickoff. Now we just stroll around till we go down a goal and he rips them up at halftime. Players who usually give their all are just looking lethargic and carefree. My worry is that the squad have started to tune Eddie out a bit and it would be a shame because he’s the best manager we’ve had in two decades. He also hasn’t done himself any favours with some of the team selection and being very repetitive with his tactical approach. I would understand the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” but it’s been very apparent that it’s a broken system at the moment, especially away from home. Very glaring that we need to play with a proper DM.
