Hahahaha I havent been on here long enough to be annoyed by anyone on here.
-
I'm on mushrooms right now. Just want to say I LOVE all of you.
-
This sounds absurd but how much would we have to pay for Garnacho? He may well be the best winger united have and they barely play him. He makes an impact on every single match when they bring him on.
-
I was literally just coming here to say that! He looks amazing. I'll take 2 Hungarians on the rocks please bartender.
-
Lets go FULL Hungarian. Orban too? All jokes aside never seen him play I will do some scouting now.
-
I remember this. He was also phenomenal at the world cup! Would love that as a sneaky signing. I'd be happy with Tierney. When he's fit he's a very well balanced LB who can do basically everything. I'd be excited to see our left wing without Burn needing to be covered so heavily and also stifling the attacking play down that side. I'd love Burn as a 3/4 CB option and as a 2/3 LB option.
-
Just had a look at his videos and everything about the way he plays reminds me so much of Bruno. Looks like a good player. Edit: a cross between Bruno and Almiron. 70% Bruno and 30% Almiron. If this happens I think it confirms that EH is trying to build the most tenacious squad in the history of football.

Eddie Howe: watched the Man Utd game in hospital (Tindall)
Sufi replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
This touches on a huge problem in how awards are given out in football and also in all sports around the world. There are NO rules. The MVP in the NBA is an example of this with Nikola Jokic arguably having his best season after coming off back to back MVP trophies, but missing out through voters fatigue to Joel Embiid (who I think you could make a case for) Even the Ballon D'Or can be criticized for the same. Eddie deserved it for sure. I'm not sure why being on course for the treble is a plus? I thought its an award for the most outstanding manager throughout the course of a PL season. What about Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea being out of the CL spots? Surely that makes it easier? Having Haaland breaking records isnt due to Pep. He's been scoring at this same rate (or more) forever. There needs to be a criteria for these awards... One option that has been floated around in other sports is having a month to month or week to week rating for managers, players etc. The winner could be the one who has the highest total score at the end of the season based on their performance. -
Definitely. I would understand if someone who had an identical contract offered by both us and liverpool deciding to go to them. Just based on history and prestige. I would also understand if a young talented player could see what we are building here and say fuck liverpool. Champions league helps massively too.
-
I know Liverpool are Liverpool but if I were a player with a choice of being apart of a project like the one we have at NUFC, with champions league football, I'd probably prefer SJP over Anfield at the moment. I'm curious how much we have moved the dial and if its gotten to the point where players would be silly to not come here and prefer a shit show under Klopp over us.
-
I would love him here.
-
Good lord. What a talent. Wonder where he ends up. Hope its with us!

Lets not make Dom Slobby a thing. Sounds very BDSM.

I'd like to keep Lascelles and Targett.

Free transfers, loans, cheap youngsters for the future who we could loan out etc. ^ This is a reply to McCormick and not the above post. Sorry for my noobness.
-
Surely some of those players would be replacements for players sold? We've made a jump equivalent to championship>premier league. Literally 5-6 players who have featured for us this season will serve no purpose next season and probably shouldnt be relied on even in an emergency situation. We could also lose 1-2 players most likely Dubravka and ASM. I could just be out of my mind thinking this is football manager hahaha
-
Backup GK on loan if dubravka leaves 3rd string proven CF on loan. LB for 35m CB to compete with Schar for 25m attacking CM for 50m. Competition for RW for 25m. defensive CM for 25m (some of the above could be replaced with free transfers) Replacements for the 2-4 championship level players we will hopefully sell so we can round out a team that can compete in multiple competitions without being one injury away from failure. Potential LW to replace ASM. Dont see why its impossible for 7-9 new faces in especially if we lose ASM or Dubravka.
-
How many players should we sell from our first team squad? Which players?
-
Loans? Free transfers? Long term structuring on transfer fees? You do know that is real?....right?
-
Very fair points. Same for Ahmed above. I definitely cant see Miggy gone. I would also be surprised if ASM is gone. Our 3rd string GK played a cup final. We had Anderson out there in the biggest match of the season. I'd like to avoid those situations by focusing on depth and not just 2-3 signings considering we could conceivable play way more matches next season and not be lucky as far as injuries and suspensions go.
-
I disagree. We leaned very heavily on the same small group of players this season and had great success doing so. A red card, an injury etc could be the difference next season. I think part of the reason those numbers are so low...and part of the reason we relied on the same 16 guys is because howe doesnt trust the fellas at the end of the bench. He's hinted at it recently in terms of him leaning heavily on certain players and barely limping across the finish line. We wont get away with that next season. Even if we can its not a smart risk to take. We cant replace 3 fullbacks and 2 wingers with one player.
-
So sell 6 potentially. How can we add 3 in that case? (responding to the other posters who view 9 new faces as unrealistic) IF we sell Fraser, Lewis, one of Manquillo or Krafth, one of Darlow or Dubravka, and Ritchie. ASM goes. 2-3 players to replace our entire bench? I think we may see the same kind of turnover that teams who go from championship to prem see. Our goals, the competitions we will be in, everything has changed. A big chunk of our squad is made up of players who arent up to the level we hope to compete at next season. Many of them cant even be trusted as backups or emergency fill-ins.
-
Its a transfer rumors thread. I have no source for Fraser, Ritchie, Manquillo or Lewis being gone either. Let me speculate in peace.
-
Manquillo, Lewis, Krafth, Fraser, Ritchie.. All likely and hopefully gone. Dubravka and ASM may well go also.
-
How many players from the first team squad do you think we will sell or maybe even loan out this summer?
