If we were on an expiring contract, it would be more believable. We cant talk to him without talking to his club due to his contract situation.

Idk about this one. 25m for Miggy would just mean we need to replace him in the squad. He loves this club, hes found a new gear this season. Hes great in the locker room. Endless work rate. I think I'd like to keep him for congested schedule, cup matches, 20-30min cameo off the bench to provide energy and see out matches. He carried us for a month. I think of all the players in the original post, I wouldnt sell any of them. Keep Callum as a bench ST. Keep Schar as depth at CB. I dont think those 3 are the type of player we need to sell with their character, work rate, price, etc. I prefer we cut all the dead wood mentioned in the post just above me. In football manager terms "sell for any price". We could easily have 60-70 matches to play next season. If it came down to it I would rather let ASM go than Miggy.

I prefer Tierney for half the price and LB is his natural position plus he can cover at CB in an emergency. The player I really want as someone who watches La Liga a lot is Samuel Chukwueze. He's got as much raw talent as Isak and would probably come cheaper. I'd be gutted if we dont have him in black and white next season. We have been linked. He absolutely torched Real Madrid at the bernebeu. Tons of pace, incredible feet, real eye for goal. Hes like a more direct version of ASM but he tracks back and gets stuck in. If you havent had the chance to see him play this year...the videos online dont do him justice. He's electric. Contract is up in 2024 his minimum release clause is something silly like 70m but everton were linked with a loan and option to buy for 40m. I dont care who we get at LB, CM, CB, or ST. This kid is Mane level talented.

Take burn off for targett. Bring on ASM or Gordon if he isn’t fit. Keep this 4-2-3-1 shape with Isak behind Wilson. No more jow as the deepest of the cms. Keep willock on the left and have him drift back as a 3rd cm when out of possession, having Isak fill that role when we don’t have the ball. I believe! I’m 4 beers in at 8:30am. He was our best player in the first half. Great pressing, some good passes. Made good runs, supported burn well. Should have put that one away but to be fair it’s a few inches away from being in the bottom corner. People need to chill out. He’s had what 3 starts for us now? I’m sure if he stays on and Murphy goes off, he gets an assist or goal and we aren’t having this conversation. It came down to a decision out of respect for Murphys recent form. We have basically secured a CL spot with a 3-1 comeback win at home…and people want to moan about a young player who has had 3 starts and a few cameos from the bench. ENJOY. I guess when we have no problems, we focus on small things. Such is life. A season or two ago it was staying in the prem. Now it’s the price we paid for a player who has barely had a chance. don’t you guys remember Joelinton? Almiron? You’d think we would learn our lessons and not get on a young players back after such a small sample size.

I feel the same way. We are so limited down the left. Idk how he is our starting LB still. He should be our 3rd choice CB and emergency cover at LB. between him, Longstaff and Murphy I think we have had so many instances where the ball or move dies at their feet. We need all 3 of them to be cover and used for cup ties. I don’t know how we are 3rd with so many matches started by players like the ones listed above. I love Burn and all of the players in general but I’d HATE to be a LW playing infront of him. You have to constantly cover and help him because he’s slow as hell. He doesn’t support you moving forward. He can’t even play a simple 1-2 or a through ball. It’s terrible I’m really tired of watching him play. murphy has shit decision making. Longstaff is a poor man’s McTominay..which says a lot.

Work rate. Pace. Dribbling. Can spot a pass. Very direct. Covers the fullback well. im confused by people who are literally already giving up on him or on his back. He’s played like 100 mins in black and white…calm down and be patient. Support the lads. At least give him a CHANCE ffs

Wilson for Murphy. Bring Miggy on later on. Let Gordon have a bit more time. He’s looked okay tbf. Murphy has made 3-4 horrible decisions this half. He needs to come off asap

This is a huge issue with our side. We are soooo focused on the trippier Almiron connection and teams basically shift over to that side. I do think Isak and Gordon will help fix that because Isak comes deeper to get the ball and Gordon does a good job of switching play

I love ASM and what he’s done for us in the dark ages..but holy fuck he’s been absolutely terrible. Almost every single touch has been a give away. I don’t think ive seen him move the ball or even complete more than 1 pass in the entire first half. He’s obsessed with dribbling and taking on defenders. He completely plays with his head down. I think he was perfect for us when we sat back and parked the bus for 90 mins. He would earn fouls and help us move up the pitch. In this current system he is having a really hard time adjusting. I hope he has a better second half

This is what I’ve been thinking for a while now. Miggy on the right, asm on the left and Gordon in behind Isak would be scary. Especially with Bruno pulling the strings in behind them and jow doing the running/cleaning up. That’s probably my dream side right now. Also Targett in at LB and burn as cover for our cbs

I agree. That 1-2 give and go passing between trippier and Almiron..it’s so obvious at this point and we keep going back to the well. Our left side is severely limited by burn providing nothing going forward. We don’t want him overlapping and he needs the LW to support him a lot due to his issues with pace. I really think Targett will help us have more balance…along with your original point about Almiron relying too much on hugging the touch line and looking for a through ball from trippier. another interesting tweak would be to play 3 in behind the striker. Maybe Isak up top, with asm Almiron and Gordon constantly switching wings and showing up in different spots. I’d be fine with jow and Bruno as our only 2 CMs

Wilson has to put in either that header or the 1v1 with the keeper. He’s done this too many times this season. I can’t see Isak missing both of those chances.. I love Dan Burn but he really handicaps any of our attacking play down the left. Useless on the overlap. Can’t pick a pass to the LW. Can’t win headers going forward even though he’s 6’7.. I think he should be CB depth for us not our starting LB. He also puts a ton of pressure on whoever plays infront of him to constantly be covering for him. ASM put in more effort today in terms of getting stuck in. He is extremely indirect and had a few opportunities to cross but he wanted to dribble past his man for the third time. We are becoming WAY WAY to dependant on trippier playing a 1-2 with Almiron and then feeding him behind. We have done it at least 10 times per match and teams are picking up on it. Gordon looked very good! We miss Bruno.
