The money could have been spent on a starting RCB that would improve the first team. Last season we were in danger of missing out when we sold Shelvey without a replacement, Longstaff was injured and we were putting a cobbled up midfield together for some games.
-
I don’t think we would be as our best avenue of attack down the left last season was the rotation with Joelinton and Willock, which I was expecting to go forward with this season. Gordon coming in meant we were overstocked in that position with Joelinton/Willock, Gordon, ASM and Anderson.
-
Livramento being an example of that, possibly Gordon as well when we were desperate for a CM instead which nearly cost us a Champions League place.
-
Agree on the Brighton style signings.
-
I rate Barnes but wouldn’t have signed him, I would have still sold ASM and invested the money in someone down the right. Same situation with Livramento and instead went for a quality centre back that can play right back if needed. I get that the club like to be opportunistic with their recruitment but not when it is at a detriment of the needs of the starting eleven.

Then we can consider ourselves lucky.

We will see how happy the 10/10 brigade really are with the window if Schar picks up an injury that keeps him out for a number of games.
-
I gave the window a 7.5 out of 10. Going in to the window I thought we needed a LB, CM, RW and RCB cover and instead we signed a CM, LW and cover for both fullbacks.

The club’s handling of the whole situation has been appalling. When it comes to an employee and employer agreeing to part ways by mutual consent, it means they part ways under a settlement agreement. Yet that isn’t what is happening here, instead the club either want to sell him or will loan him out for a season, then look to sell him but I wouldn’t rule out them trying to reintroduce him at that point. Basically, their decision is being driven by money. If he was a youngster like the La they sold recently for a million they would have just pulled the plug on him.

Newcastle 5-1 Aston Villa ✅ Man City 1-0 Newcastle ❌ Same points and +1 goal difference. Next up Liverpool. 22/23 score… Newcastle 0-2 Liverpool

One of the charges was putting through an amount as shirt sponsors and the paperwork saying the company would pay a portion and the state would make up the rest. 17:30 onwards.

I’ve got no issue with supporters of other teams on the board and it makes for good interaction throughout the season but coming on the morning after an evening kick off we lost to say how disappointed they are in us shows zero etiquette and no social awareness. Should fuck people off like that.
-
You wouldn’t pay £100 million for Haaland off todays viewing either to be fair.
-
I think him and Gordon were taken off with the Liverpool game in mind. Taken off before the second yellow.
-
We should look at bringing Tino on for Miggy.
-
The problem for us as supporters is that the way we set up to try and nullify City means that we were always going to give them plenty of the ball, meaning they have space and time to pick passes out and look dominant. We have reduced them to one shot on target and only a few half chances so we have been reasonably solid defensively, which was the strategy from the start.

I would be over the moon with a draw.

It is no good Neville talking about the club needing to fund a defensive midfielder when they spent £50 million plus on Mount, in the same way they needed a striker last season but spent £70 million plus on Anthony. Watching them since Ten Hag arrived and I still don’t understand what sort of tactics they are going out on the pitch with, apart from pass it to Rashford and hope he does something.

The kits have already been designed and signed off, I haven’t been told what it is yet but they would be mad not to go with the 95/96 away design.

Any talk of it wasn’t him placing the bets is wishful thinking. They refer to an investigation into a large bet on Xhaka receiving a yellow card which the FA had the National Crime Agency investigate that came back to show no wrongdoing, after all there is no reason that people can’t bet on someone receiving a yellow card in a game and it is a legitimate betting market. The issue becomes if people connected to the player bet on this and if they have, then what does their other betting history look like including what sort of bets do they place and the amounts for. That will be what they use to decide if there is any criminal activity.

West Ham fans clutching straws.

Another West Ham target they have failed to sign.

You know you are getting it wrong when you are considering domestic violence charities as being hostile towards your decision. What a club.

Man City would look to launch a claim for compensation against the FA if they knew an investigation was taking place and still ratified the deal.
