  1. The accounts on twitter with lots of followers don’t help. It’s in their interest to have a go/ want change/ drum up reactions. The easiest way to do that is to call for Howe to go. Whether they actually want that is a different matter. Unfortunately they have a big influence on the younger fan base and probably those fans who are more easily influenced by what they read on social media. Really sad to see what’s happening with our fans. I used to think we were up there with the best. Not now. If the majority genuinely want Howe gone we have a pathetic fan base and that hurts saying that.
  2. Are you genuinely saying the crowd hostility is the same for Howe now as it was for Bruce!? Like really!? Come on mate…
  3. Apologies if that’s offended you. My point was more fans at games are verifiable. A lot of the online stuff could be coming from mackems/ kids/ people that have supported (followed may be a better word) for 30 mins and want instant success. My point being that the ‘actual’ NUFC fans whether that online followers or people that go to the match are more patient (surely) than what I read on twitter. The fact some people are calling for Howe to go blows my mind. Arteta had two 8th place finishes and Arsenal fans were patient with him. We can’t just change the manager when the going has been tough for 10 games. After a lifetime of supporting this club I’m so disappointed in our fan base and it genuinely makes me sad to see what many fans have become. Even if we had the best manager of all time it was never going to be too 6 every season. We have backup players such as Ritchie, Dummet, Murphy, Lascelles (I could go on). Most people need to get a grip.
  4. Agree with this entirely! Been to 13 away games this season and every home match. What you read online is completely different to what the actual fans that go to games are saying.
  5. I don’t understand why you think Miley and Anderson don’t count because there are injuries. That’s how most youth players get a chance. E.g. Bradley at Liverpool. You can’t just not include them because there’s injuries. At the start of the season Howe could have easily sent Miley out on loan. He could have kept Hayden at a back up cm. Instead he kept Miley knowing that he was going to be used and he has been used. Stop trying to create a narrative by ‘if’s’. Howe is playing Miley and was playing Anderson until injury. I find your last post very contradicting. You’re saying giving youth a chance doesn’t count if you buy the youth player yet arguing Howe isn’t giving youth a chance by not playing Tino and Hall. We’ve spent or will be spending £30M on them. I admit I would have liked to see more of Tino but at the same time understand why we haven’t. Hall hasn’t looked great in the games he’s played. I wouldn’t be surprised if we are underplaying as to not activate the £30m clause to buy him if Ashworth and Howe have decided he isn’t quite good enough or has attitude problems or even can’t afford him due to ffp. Other than Tino, I don’t get what more Howe could have done with youth since he took over. Genuine question but would you have liked to see more youngsters from the academy play instead of any of the main starting 11 last season when we were trying to get top 4?
  6. I’m pretty sure you called people bonkers lol
  7. Let’s agree to disagree then. Its as clear as daylight to me that Howe likes working with young players and he has a track record of bringing those young players through. If you think the opposite that’s fine by me.
  8. I don’t get your point though? Anderson was still starting ahead of an Italian international in those games? A 20 year old is starting ahead of an Italian international in the same position. “He doesn’t give youth a chance”. you’ve been beainwashed by narrative. This isn’t football manager, Howe has developed a hell of a lot of youth players through his career. Ake Solanke Ramsdale Trippier To name a few pre NUFC off the top of my head. He’s great at bringing youth through. I know you don’t want to believe that but one of the main reasons the owners appointed him is because he is great with youth players…
  9. Oh dear… Anderson started 4 of the first 8 pl games and came on as a sub in the other 4. Don’t let the truth get in the way of your story though!
  10. But if Joelinton, Willock, Bruno, Sandro etc had been fit all season or should he have got this many minutes.
  11. He did give Parkinson game time. But again he probably didn’t look great yet. He’s nowhere near ready to be playing premier league football. I know fans have a desperation to play young players as there’s always hope they will turn out world class. You have to remember Howe watches the youngsters every day in training. You don’t. If he doesn’t think Parkinson is ready for a 20 min run around then maybe he isn’t. Saying that he doesn’t trust youth and the youth not being good enough are two different matters.
  12. Your take on Howe not trusting youth is a bit bizarre? Gave Miley and Anderson their debuts last season when there were no injury problems. I can’t name any youngster he hasn’t given a chance to that has been on the fringe. He’s given Hall plenty chances at left back which he’s looked really poor defensively and he’s given him a chance in cm where he doesn’t yet look strong enough. Howe has been the best manager at trusting youth at NUFC for a very long time. Sorry for calling you out. Just wanted to know what you’re basing your opinion on.
  13. How can’t he be a miss if we can’t make a substitute at the moment? Of course he’s a miss. He was the best player in pre season.
  14. Yes really. Proved he was at least good enough at this level to be a squad player. We have let in so many last 10 min goals this season if you haven’t noticed. Largely due to us not being able to bring on fresh legs. Regardless of whether he was going to be a brilliant player or a solid squad player. If you ask anyone at the football club his injury along with many others is a massive blow. How fans can think he isn’t a miss is beyond me. Sorry
  15. I may be in the minority here but I don’t think a cm is priority for Jan. Eddies already said that there’ll be no short term signings in Jan. By 31/12/2023 (hopefully) we’ll have Bruno, Joelinton, Longstaff, Willock, Anderson, Miley. I’d prefer to carry on developing Miley and Anderson than signing a loanee for 5 months. Loving having a few local lads in the side. Next season Tonali is back so if we got another cm, Miley would be down to 8th choice which would be a shame. To me I think the priority for Jan is a young upcoming forward that can also play wide if needed.
  16. Anyone in Paris for this without a ticket? If so, where are you watching it?
  17. Pedro Neto has to be up there with the best players in the league at the moment. He’ll probably end up at Arsenal/ Man City/ Liverpool but I’d love it if we managed to sign him.
  18. If you’re building a bigger stadium you’d still be losing more green space. Planning isn't granted by “friends of Leazes Park” either.
  19. Correct. It was just nearly because there were too many people against it.
  20. To get their foot in the door and it still took them three years to decide to do that. It isn’t pocket change or they’d have paid it far quicker. Not arguing, I just really hope you’re right.
  21. Really hope you’re right! But a billion pounds is a lot of money. Even for Saudi Arabia.
  22. It’s out of the question to me and you but we aren’t the ones doing the feasibility study. All I’m saying is I think we should be careful what we wish for. I know I’m biased but as part of city/ stadium experiences in the premier league, SJP is the best I’ve been to.
