No the picture above is correct. If you read the last published NUFC accounts and go to the last two pages there is a note referencing this which is quite clear. It reconciles the accounts from UK GAAP (UK accounting standard accepted by the premier league) to being UEFA compliant. In the note it adds back the profit we made on the ASM sale. So for PL purposes we made a profit on the ASM sale and for UEFA purposes it was just an at cost transfer with no loss or profit.

Yeah really hope we don’t go for Ramsdale. Really really bad goalkeeper.
-
No they’re very separate transactions. According to the last set of accounts we would have £90M of amortisation in the 25/26 season. Add on Elanga‘s £10M, the Longstaff fee is £88M short of covering Elanga’s fee.

Completely agree. Don’t think we struggle against low blocks at all. Teams like Forest we normally beat. The teams we struggle against are high pressing teams like Bournemouth and Fulham. No idea where this “struggle against low blocks” comes from? Anyone have any idea? We are so good against teams with low blocks. Think we beat the bottom 6 home and away last year?

Same by quite some distance

We’re in such a difficult position. It’s obvious we can’t afford an expensive mistake from abroad. Gone are the days (pre ffp/psr) where you can buy a player from abroad on 3 year deal. Due to the amortisation any deal has to be 5 years these days. With wage demands included it’s why less and less clubs in the top 6 are shopping abroad and most are buying proven premier league players. It’s easy for me to say we should change the strategy and gamble to buy three abroad signings but if those three players don’t come good in the premier league it could knock us back 5 years. The top clubs are effectively prohibiting clubs from buying abroad and then hoovering up the domestic talent themselves. Sickening.

I think the last few windows have just shown that all of the local journalists have absolutely no idea what is going on. Makes me think whether we actually have an interest in Pedro, Elanga etc or even had an interest in Mbuemo or whether it’s completely made up to get clicks. It’s too easy for them to say the deal never happened. Most of the players we do sign it gets announced from out of nowhere. Whereas they all seem to have the ‘saga transfers’ where we never actually sign who they have linked us with. Were we ever even interested in the player at all!?
-
Or PSG at home?
-
No. He was effective at getting us through to the next round by getting two assists. Why does that wind you up? Bizarre.
-
Played well against Birmingham. Two assists and they struggled to deal with him when he got near the byline. Gave the ball away twice which I know the majority of fans will get excited about but the two important assists make up for that.

Interesting to see whether the champions league revenue is similar to the difference between adidas new revenue and Castore old revenue. I still think we’ll have a bigger operating loss this year which will leave no room for new signings unless someone like Miggy or Longstaff go. I dont want a repeat of last summer when we had to sell at the start of summer. I’d just prefer to sign no one in Jan.
-
If we’re allowed losses of around £84M this season and we have an operating loss of £70m before we consider Osula, Greek gk, new player contracts, agent fees etc. No champions league revenue, we really don’t have a lot of cash (if any) for new players. I don’t think we’ll do any business this month. We will wait to summer and hope to get champions league. If we don’t get champions league we will likely have to sell a star player.
-
Yes but you’re saying our operating losses are £10m… they’re £70m year on year without any new signings.
-
No. The club made a £71m operating loss last season with over £84m in player sale profits, making a £7m profit. it’s at the top of this page. We are up against it unless we sell.

Yeah agree on the ground requirements probably not great. My comment was more the odd t20 game to grow the sport. E.g. they already play the odd game in gosforth. Your rugby comment doesn’t make much sense, Leazes Park is probably closer to gosforth than Kingston Park. Also historically they were Gosforth, they are now Newcastle.
-
Excited to see some plans. I may be dreaming here but with the Falcons in trouble and if they fail to find investment Kingston Park stadium could potentially be turned into housing. This would leave nowhere for the women’s team to play. Could a 10,000-15,000 seated stadium be built next to the new stadium? Would be perfect for big u21 and women’s game. We could also rent it out for Falcons games, Durham cricket games in summer? And smaller giggs helping FFP throughout the year. Would be great for the city to have local sports teams playing in the city centre.
-
Yeah agree with all of that!
-
The majority of our recent goals conceded have come aerially. This would definitely help us going forward but it may make us concede more.
-
Were you at the Forest Newcastle match? Or a different one? He was brilliant. Throughout the whole game we only started playing well after he came on. The pundits had a 10 min analysis on how well he played after the game. He’s had a tricky time of it over the last year but as a fan it’s important to give credit where it is due.
-
Best player on the pitch after he came on. Fair play
-
If only it was all that simple. The truth is there is a trade off between keeping players and the ability to buy new players because of the legislation in place.
-
Apologies for saying I don’t think Guehi is worth £70M. I’ll try not to disagree with you again.
-
Read your post back. Put emphasis on ‘Honestly you’d think some on here had decades of experience working in football analytics they way they speak with such utter authority.’ And try to see the irony lol

has a go at someone else ‘starting a fight’. Starts next post with ‘excuse me’. Califiori was just named in the Serie A team of the season. Hes not tested in the premier league yet but over the last 12 months he was one of the best cb’s in Europe…
