  1. Romano. I'm sorry, but are they really just looking to buy those 3, even if they sell Caicedo and MacAllister? Is that their ambition? If so, I'd like a word with the people who thinks that Brighton is here to stay competitive.
  2. I'm pretty sure Joelinton will play as LW next season like he did before Longstaffs injury. I think that Leicesters problem was that they had several very bad players and then 3-4 stars who had to carry all the weight. Problem is that most or all of those "stars" were leaving in the summer regardless of what happened, so maybe their head wasn't 100% in the right place.
  3. I just watched back the goals from the first half of the season. He looked similar to what he did in MLS. I think he has that ability in him, but his confidence is so bad most of the time. And when his confidence is bad, he never hits the target.
  4. It looks like a pre season game to be honest.
  5. Miggy has some crazy ability hidden inside of him, but I just think that mentally he can't cope.. Can't have players who has long down periods anytime confidence drops a little.
  6. Anthony Gordon, he scores when he wants!
  7. What happened to Longstaff? They just want to keep healing the injury he had after Everton?

    Scott McTominay

Hayden would not have had 207 games for Manchester United. McTominay is not a Championship player.
  9. Fulham is not an easy team to beat. I actually think that Fulham at home is more difficult than Chelsea away. Crazy times. Unfortunately Manchester United are very strong at home.
  10. Did Wolfsburg lose on purpose to not go into the Europa Conference League? They needed 1p at home to Herta who is already relegated at last place..
  11. Why do I think that Trippier looks like Wayne Rooney in this picture? Not that much, but a tiny bit..

I agree, again I'm not trying to criticize Burn or Longstaff here. What I like about Burn is that you kind of allways know what you will get. He's not a star, but atleast he is quite consistent. Hoping to see more of him at CB rather than LB.

Yeah, if you go just 2-3 months back in the Longstaff thread you will find people calling for Longstaff to be sold. The point I'm trying to make is that just because Manchester United fans wants McTominay gone doesn't mean that he wouldn't do a job for us.

They would be fuming about his finishing and passing, lets be real. Defensive contribution and work rate helps, but it's not enough for them. I'm not saying Longstaff is not a good player, I'm saying that many of their fans make some of their players seem like worthless trash if they're not amongst their top players. Do you really think they would not be complaining their asses off about Burn at left back? Longstaff has been important for us because he fits well into our system and his role in our team. Also because we lacked any replacement for that role when he got injured.

Imagine if Dan Burn or Longstaff was playing regularly for Manchester United. Their fans would be chasing them out of town. If they played Dan Burn at left back their fans would be furious, and rival fans would make memes about him. Nothing against Burn or Longstaff, more about what playing for Manchester United can be like if you're not one of their very best players. The expectations are extremely high.

Do we have to choose between them? Do they cost the same? Lets sell Dan Burn because Botman is better.
  17. Just a friendly reminder that this guy is available for free

I think very few would think he would be a star player for us.. Again, that's not what this is about. Howe said in an interview that what he wanted to improve was squad depth. If you burn all your money on 2-3 expensive superstars, you don't have any money left to spend. I don't understand why it's so hard to get around the idea of buying a player for rotation and competition within the squad. I agree that 30m is maybe a bit much, but if we get him for less I wouldn't be against it. If we get a couple of injuries in the midfield, even after buying a big signing in midfield, we're left with playing Joelinton out of position or playing Eliott Anderson. Is Eliott Anderson a Champions League player? With more games comes more injuries and fatigue. Obviously. And by the way, Longstaff has been important, but we saw him as someone who needed to be replaced not long ago. One of the reasons why we did worse without him was the fact that we had no replacement and needed to move Joelinton into midfield. Especially Longstaffs shooting has been abmyssal, and McTominay has a decent shot in him. Longstaff is not very good at passing either. I don't think that Longstaff is a Champions League player, and if he was playing for Manchester United their fans would probably also want him gone.

We were linked with Gordon for a good while. We're still being linked with McTominay, but it's impossible to know if we're after him. I don't think anyone would be impressed if that was our only CM signing. It would have to be alongside a bigger signing. We won the lottery and bought Dan Burn for £13 mill. Great signing that one. He will still help us next season. Rotation will be important, and we can't spend enough to be rotating between world beaters yet. And by the way: Lets not forget that he has 143 appearances for Manchester United at 26 years of age. He has the experience of playing under high pressure.
  21. My guess: Dubravka Ashby - Lascelles - Botman - Targett Anderson - Longstaff - Joelinton Almiron - Wilson - Gordon Assuming that Joelinton is not injured. Almiron has shown good form lately, and could need a goal for his confidence going into next season. Wilson probably would want to chase the 20 goal mark. Not sure if Trippier will play? Heck, we might even play Dummet at CB. This is difficult to predict.
  22. I agree. He's still 22. We would've really needed another LW this window if we didn't have him, especially if ASM leaves. Did we overpay? Maybe, but it is what it is. Who knows, maybe he will prove to be worth it in the future.
