How hard is it to not drink alchohol? Sometimes I see talk about alchohol as if it's a human right, and it's somehow disgusting to deny it. There are more important things in life than having the freedom of being able to get drunk.

This seasons Villa is pretty similar to our last season in terms of expectations imo. We had tougher opponents in Europe, but they have more games. If Villa fail to qualify for Europe, their next season will be like this season for us, atleast in terms of expectations and talk of Emerys job. Finally, he has actually qualified for Europe with them twice, so that also makes up a small difference.
-
Re depth. This is from last weekend. How does our bench compare to Tottenham and Villa? Just a small note, Porro is there, but I believe he was rested for Djed Spence. Newcastle Villa Tottenham

The answer is often somewhere in between. Do you prefer that people have black and white/polarized opinions when those are rarely accurate? You can be critical without being anti, but ofcourse it would be easier for you to argue against someones opinion if it's too exaggerated. So I can see why you would prefer that.

He might be "backed", but if the reports are to be trusted, we would put ourselves in the position of having to sell someone before 1st of july if we "back him". It might just be the reality, and talking about PSR in a realistic way has nothing to do with projection of doom. Edit: as others has pointed out already.
-
Which could be down to backing him "too much" financially (relative to our PSR limit) overall in the 4 windows before that. We do need to change the squad up though, which probably means that Howe needs to accept giving up on someone of value.
-
Luckily there won't be an international break right at the time when we've gained momentum this time around. I think that hurt us a little bit last time.
-
We've been going in and out of form this season, but with Tonali finally being given a run and Botman coming back later on there is hope for some lasting form.
-
Clearly can't wait to go back to Italy.
-
Several fans wanted this to happen a while before it did, including giving him a run in the team. Giving someone a run of games is just necessary, can't expect much from the odd start here and there.
-
Gotta love howe we seem to do well in the cups on a regular basis. Tough semifinal waiting, mind.
-
If Tonali does well after sitting on the bench, there was allways going to be someone trying to say that it was a result of him being benched. The thing is, maybe he would have played like this if we had given him the run earlier? I also think there has to be a distinction made for each case. For example the Hall and Livra situation was wildly different to the Tonali situation.
-
It's more like knowing someone will desperately try to frame everything in a certain way having seen it before, so you know exactly what it's going to be. You're right though, it was predictable.
-
I called this a while ago btw.
-
As far as I know Tonali was an Italian international earlier in the season aswell. He has been playing like today for them for a while now. It's not like Hall, who was a 19 year old talent.
-
Next up we buy Haaland, and Howe eases him in. When he scores a hat trick first start, it's because Howe eased him in. Not because he's Haaland.
-
It's allways that. If he doesn't perform Howe was right. If he performes really well when given the start, Howe was also right. He just can't be wrong nomatter what outcome.
-
But we win more with... uh, nevermind.
-
Southampton. Getting smashed by Liverpool reserves at home.
-
I was ready for the shot there..
-
It's kind of like making a top 10 list of centrebacks and fullbacks..
-
Aguero has the lowest minutes per goal by far when comparing 100+ appearances players. He was just injured a lot. Haaland is currently at 87.96, though. Chicharito nr. 10. I had forgotten about him.
-
So lets see.. Both Schar and Højlund approach the player. Both Schar and Højlund nods their head forward. Both Diaz and Walker also tilt their head forward. Both contacts are minor, hard to tell which one is softer. Is the outcome different because Walker throws himself later than Diaz?
-
Diaz literally moved his head towards Schar to make sure the contact happened. If you look at both replays in slow mo, it's pretty hard to justify a different outcome. Especially if you read the actual rules.

£80m spent, but they can afford 10 of those type of flops. Edit: didn't see Simas post.
