Apparently we’ll be playing Burnley in a behind closed doors game. Don’t know when like. Prob similar to last time when we split the games up between different XI’s. Playing Leeds also at the German training camp.

Imo if we stay clear of injuries this season, get a class RCB and class RF in then we can challenge for top 3. I might end up looking foolish in a years time but we have the tools and with a reduced schedule there is a massive opportunity.

Think this has always been the plan. I remember listening to Caulkin, Waugh at least a year ago on their podcast saying that Staveley and Ghodoussi have a contract from PIF to run the club and that there will be a time where that is no longer the case. We have now reached that time.

Maybe Mandy has been doing what they do on Location, Location, Location. Viewing training grounds, saying she loves them and that she could see us living there, but then she never actually buys the property. Wor Mehrdad is sick of it, goes behind her back with the club’s credit card and just buys a small fixer upper in Pelaw.

What did people not understand when Amanda Staveley said PIF are “long-term, patient investors”. It was literally in the first interview. They’re not hoying us off 3 years in. After 14 years of utter shit we’ve got back in the Champions League, reached a cup final and then very narrowly missed out on Europe again. That’s a massive turnaround from what we’d been used to. PIF aren’t going anywhere.

Most football interviews are statements disguised as questions where the player/coach being interviewed merely regurgitates some mindless adjective + intensifier eg. “That was a massive win today. But how massive?” “very massive”. “you played well in the last match, which you also won” ”absolutely, it’s how we have to play”. “the fans??” ”fans are huge for us”

He hasn’t even done an interview for the club’s YouTube. Are we sure we’ve even appointed him? Are we sure he even exists?

He allegedly didn’t turn up for training. Obviously that’s not an option as he’s not in training with us. I guess we’ll only find out after the Euro’s and when he gets back from holiday.

Is Gordon really wanting out? Reports that “his head is a mess” just don’t tally with the type of person he comes across as in interviews. He’s very focused, doesn’t let things bother him. The press have been persistent with this line the last days.
