More intelligent than dogs apparently. I still eat them, but after finding that out, no longer judge those who eat dogs.

Exactly , ref can't give it unless he can see through Woltemade , it's 100% on the VAR officials.

VAR really is awful. Gives microscopic offsides and pedantic, unintentional handballs but ignores that. He had a hold of his shirt for 2 or 3 seconds. It prevented Woltemade getting to the ball he'd just controlled with a decent chance to turn and shoot. If it was a split second pull of the shirt I'd say fair enough, but that's an outrageous non-call imo.

Apparently if a striker is big you're allowed to pull the shirt off him. -
Has real pace too.

Ah well, it's a pretty forgiving competition, think teams got through with 9 points last year
-
You'd hope that the memory of how much the Newcastle fans stuck by him through the betting ban stuff might help to keep him here when other clubs come sniffing. Not too many fan bases would have been as understanding and loyal.

VAR check on this comment please. Marginal offside?

F*** it into room 101 along with Freed from Desire.

Isak is not in Henry's league and never will be imo. Henry had way more pace and could do everything Isak can do. He was just an all round better athlete too. Much less injury prone. Isak always looked knackered after 50-60 minutes in most games as well.

Less than 1% of the deaths in the Russia/Ukraine war are children. In Gaza it's up around 40% and the ones who've survived are worse off. Many are maimed, psychologically destroyed, starving living in tents beside rubble, knowing they could be bombed at any moment. A Dec 2024 survey showed half of Gazan children wished they were dead. It must be more than that now. Gaza is the greatest act of evil of our lifetime. The extermination of a people inside a death camp by a supremacist state. The very thing we were endlessly told (by the same people telling us this is all necessary) was the ultimate evil that must never be allowed to happen again.

Ask not what humanity can do for you, ask what you can do for humanity. Sandro, football will never be able to thank you enough. Israel at the World Cup finals would have been like a skid mark on a wedding dress.

Agreed. Thank God for characters like Bruno. You look at the carry on of the likes of Isak and Wissa, the moral bankruptcy of owners (ours get a lot of focus, but they're all despicable at the Premier League level as far as I can see) and it can all feel a bit soulless, you'd wonder sometimes why you bother. Then you look at Bruno, see how much it means to him and your faith is restored.

In a perverse way, I'm enjoying how much I hate this guy now. I'll be as hyped up for Liverpool games as I am for Newcastle games for the foreseeable. In the Vince McMahon documentary, he used to talk about heels, the guy you have to watch in the hope he takes a vicious beating. Isak is the ultimate heel now.
-
When Wissa made his statement yesterday, pretty much everyone on here called him a p***k and said they hoped we didn't buy him, but now we have, so we deal with it and move on. We don't like it but it's the way it is now. At least we as a fan base have issues with Wissa's mercenary behaviour. I haven't seen Liverpool fans taking any issue with Isak. Also, if the Trent situation had happened at Newcastle, there's no way he'd get booed imo. A homegrown lad, who gives you many brilliant years and sees out his contract like a pro, treats the club with honesty and respect, gives them plenty of notice about what his plans are. He'd leave with nothing but good wishes from the Newcastle fans imo. The level of entitlement with Liverpool fans is off the charts.

55m looks expensive but in the circumstances the cost of not signing him would likely have been much higher. It's pretty much Woltemade and Wissa for Isak, give or take a few mill and that might not be a bad deal, given Isak was a little injury prone and only has about 50-60 good minutes in him on a given day. His 2nd half stats back that up btw. His level of fitness isn't great

Time will tell and I hope you're right but watching today I got this sinking feeling that it's going to be Chris Wood all over again.
