  1. Chelsea drawing today only really helps if forest also draw to west ham, otherwise it makes no difference. Sure it could eliminate Chelsea as a threat (very likely in fact) but then if they don't try versus forest that just brings them back in as a threat cancelling Chelsea out.
  2. No way villa doesn't get CL now. Has to be said they've really come on as a team, they're better than we are now I reckon and them getting CL again will allow them to shoot further ahead of us.
  3. As terrible as spurs are it's pretty mental that villa will have won 8 out of 9 of their last games or whatever it is.
  4. Think the villa result is more important like, Chelsea losing would just mean they are more likely to throw the forest game and potentially brings forest back into play if they beat west ham. Villa are the biggest threat right now and them getting a draw likely puts an end to their chances of finishing above us. Unfortunately I don't see spurs getting a result here but you never know maybe they'll hold out.
  5. I think the only thing going for spurs here is that villa need a win whereas they don't, and as Villa start to overcommit later in the second half they might get lucky on a counter (it could be the same situation we are in against Everton if some results this weekend don't go out way).

  7. If Tottenham manage to get cl next year they're going to have spend heavy in the summer, I imagine with their revenue they will be able to spend quite a bit but still risky trying to basically restructure your whole team in one window.
  8. Spurs are useless now, no way they are winning this but there's still a chance they could nick a draw.
  9. Spurs are actually doing better than I thought they would but villa will win this.
  10. Dunno why but I feel like at least one result will go our way this weekend. If we say there's a small 20% chance of us beating arsenal, a 20% chance of man u drawing or beating Chelsea, and a 20% chance of spurs drawing or beating villa. Individually those are all unlikely to go our way but collectively there's a 50% chance (if my maths is right) of at least one of those things happening and just one of those would be huge.
  11. It will be like 70% of turnover vs the pl's 80% based on the new rules I think, anyway I doubt we'll be in danger of breaching it based on our recent spending and revenue regardless
  12. We've literally had a net negative spend this season in terms of transfers, why would uefa have an issue, they think we sold Elliott Anderson, almiron and minteh whilst bringing in only osula who we never play and Lloyd Kelly (who we've now gotten rid of) just for the fun of it? Sunderland fans just done seem to get how ffp works at all, they still think it's the 2000's where owners can just bank roll their teams and that's the only reason we are doing well.
  13. Maybe it's just the pessimist in me but the more I think about it I'm not overly confident in that everton game. They beat fulham away yesterday which wouldn't have been an easy game, and recently drew against arsenal and beat forest. They are no pushovers by any stretch and have a decent record against us. Be one thing if all we had to do was not lose but there is a very high chance we specifically will need to win. Defo not out of the woods just yet. Plus side is that if forest and Chelsea ends in a draw we'd only need a point. And If we get a point against arsenal next week, then we are likely to still get CL so long as we get a point at everton and Chelsea don't win against forest.
  14. It's more that we seem to be lacking good form lately than them being in good form tbh, though I thought they were decent against Liverpool today considering they were down to 10 men

    Joelinton

Wonder what the odds are of him coming back for the everton game.
  16. We have a much better record against arsenal at home than we do away, the cup game this season was an exception but they weren't at their best that game in general. They are defo in better form than we are at the moment even if it has dropped a bit. But hey you never know let's get at them.
  17. So if we do somehow manage to beat these (I don't think we will but let's just be hypothetical here) we will be second in the league with a game left to go which is against everton at home. If that happens, think we can easily call this the best season of our lives.
  18. Merino being out makes things interesting. Without merino, Jesus or havertz they are a bit short up front it feels but still the fact they are putting up such a good fight against Liverpool with 10 men shows how dangerous they still are
  19. I do feel really badly for forest tbf, just a few weeks ago I thought they had CL in the bag, they were third and had way easier fixtures compared to everyone else. They've really dropped the ball, but still a great season for them.
  20. Yeah right now out of city, villa, Chelsea and forest (so excluding us), I would rank it city then Villa then Chelsea then forest in terms of who has the highest chance of getting CL right now. Villa and Chelsea are the two we need to be worried about.
  21. Wonder what the odds are to have Jolinton back for everton, bar Lewis hall that would put us at more or less full strength squad against a bottom half side who have nothing to play for at home
  22. At the point where we are more likely than not to qualify but it's still gonna be close.
  23. If we can't beat these at home against 10 men we don't deserve cl
  24. I read that statement about Jolinton being more like he's not currently available but you never know maybe for everton he can play, but I do hope I'm wrong.
