way down the wish list for me it is topped by: - iraola exhausts liverpool, they finish mid-table - maresca just isn't quite up to it, no pep (obviously). city get europa - alonso at chews is an ego meltdown all round, they finish mid-table - everyone figures out how to beat arteta's arse, they get europa conference - carrick is bruce ii (this seems quite likely to me), man u flirt with relegation all season, comes down to the last day, they go down on goal difference in 18th - spurs under de zerbi are as bad as spurs under tudor. finish flat bottom - mackems cannot handle yewrup. finish 19th. - we win the league. against all expectation but with hindsight the howe-tinuation was a masterstroke. he needed to regroup, and with jocky+suds put together a real team with a clear identity and deep resilience - leeds+ forest get champs league (sue me, i like the proper clubs). none of the cuck clubs do

would be a terrible move for him. man u under carrick are gonna be pure catshit.

like, we can get exercised about chelsea (and, *nobody* despises the cartelisation of the prem more than me) blundering into "our" deal, but weren't we ourselves shoehorning into brighton's deal? anyway, i like these early signs tbh. we may even have learned that the top top prem players aren't gonna come to us (because we aren't allowed to pay them as much as cartel clubs can, even though we could easily afford to do so), so jocky+ suds are being smarter for anyone who's experiencing this as a wake up call that we can't sign the world's elite - talk about pressing snooze a few too many times! 😉 as has been discussed one or twice in other threads, it does seem like a pretty great strategy for us right now might be to be like a cuck club on steroids - all the smartness but also ready and willing to splurge within the constraints. the fact is that the cartel can only sign so many players! and even with all those players, and all that money, and even with their stupid co-owned clubs, they still struggle to get it right on the pitch! (what kind of cartel ends up with one member 10th and the other 17th?!?) so while there will definitely be some frustrations this summer, i feel like we already seem way better than we did last summer (low bar, i know)

thread difficulty level: max

it's obviously horrific yet i think i'll come to accept it as we win the league in it
-
with this earlier start, it being the last match of everyone's season, and everyone caring about it, the cl final is beginning to feel a bit like fa cup final day did in the 70s and 80s. i'm all for it. i even care who wins!
-
this approach, combined with european football, has the potential to have hilarious results. fingers crossed
-
this would need to be the playing budgets. then absolutely agree 👍
-
count your blessings. imagine if you were witnessing this having been relegated

i think gordon is essentially a good egg (i so loved it when he just up and drove to the hospital in manchester having seen a tweet that he was the favourite player of that girl with leukaemia. it would've been muuchhh easier not to do that, >95% of people probably wouldn't have) and also a good player. he's certainly not perfect, but then neither am i. i hope he smashes it at barca, and kindof sneakingly suspect that he will. it's thanks and all the best in your future endeavours from ffs.

i mean, 100% agree. but who would pay £35-40mm for wissa?!?
-
the worst signing of the season excluding players who went on strike limper in the challenge than wolt. swiss. possible vegan
-
makes me wonder how much of Eddie's demonstrated ability to improve players is simply down to getting them fitter than they've ever been (and, if so, nothing wrong with that at all)
-
nailed on. to complete The Worst Season of the 21st Century* *so far
-
exactly how i hoped the wilson/suds era would be - players i've never even heard of, loads of vowels, will never be able to pronounce the name, but look kinda tasty. more please 😎
-
nope - i'd rather that some clubs weren't artificially constrained from competing, while others aren't
-
yes, we lost all those points from winning positions and finished 12th in a season when all the european places were up for grabs. but the thing i liked least was that i never felt like i understood what we were *trying* to be. intensity's clearly no longer our identity, but what is? what's the intention? just no clue. i'm howe in-out (on the fence, no confidence in my view) but, like, not wanting to bring in too many players doesn't make me think we're going to end up with a clear identity next season either. but this is about last season... so, 3/10. worst season since the takeover by far, obviously. very rarely an easy watch. (also, arsenal winning the league and jesus quite possibly the champions' league, spurs not going down, sunderland getting europa (and, way worse than that, kindof feeling *better run* than us (sorry)), man utd resurgent, refs and var feeling possibly worse than ever, that fucking hearts-celtic stitch-up) silver linings (making it 3/10 and not lower): for us: the lewises, osula maybe just maybe being something, that first half in azerbaijan, barca first leg, the atmosphere before mackems at sjp, woltemade's early purple patch, the end of the leeds game (legit out of body experience), the vanishingly brief window in which wissa looked like a poacher, everyone getting behind elanga (for all the good it did us, and him), lewis m getting the armband vs psv, tripps' classy ending (pipe down), making the lc semis i guess - altho that whole competition felt like such a grind this season and we were never in the semi at all, bruno scoring that corner and then trying unsuccessfully to score lots more corners. elsewhere: the porn twats at west ham going down with their terrible stadium, wrexham missing out on promotion (fuck you, netflix club), chelsea fucking it up in general and with linkedin liam in particular, the disappointingly brief, wonderful reign of igor tudor, southampton fucking up the playoffs and then boro fucking up the redemption arc, leeds & forest staying up (proper clubs), salford losing in the playoffs. 3/10, must try harder
-
if we were leading in the europa final we'd be absolutely fucking loving it, would not seem tinpot whatsoever, would be unbelievable. i'm not jealous exactly, but i very much want it all for us
-
nope. today, of all days, we batter them.
-
I'm close to betting on us to win as a psychological hedge. Strange times.
-
poor Bob Mortimer 😔
-
ramsdale in goal, woltemade + wissa up front
-
i'm not sure i can understand it either tbh - but i do still feel it. in the final analysis, i hate the cartel more than i hate sunderland. i am now realising.
