Just catching up with this. I think The Rest Is Football is a decent podcast, especially the tales from their playing days. The two episodes with Henry are brilliant and really insightful into his thoughts as a person.

It's a strange world isn't it where we have to ask the question if a person born with a Y chromosome, Adam's apple, balls and cock and male DNA is a man or woman! And anyone questioning this is called bigot or whatever. Life was so much simpler in the 80s and 90s ?
-
Agreed, but there must be more to it than that. There has to be. I'd say about 2/3rds of women I've spoken to on this matter in the past do agree with what that lass said. So it's not exactly an obscure or way out view.

Just to AC Milan for still being available and not suspended for the first game in the CL when we played them ? (I'm not serious, that's a joke).

This window probably not much. But I think that this summer we may start selling some saleable players that have a very low book value. No idea who it will be but one big sale allows us to spend big money under FFP. Maybe it's someone we least expect. Bruno for £100m with a FFP book value of £20m is £80m profit. Which equals what for a new signings fund, £300m? We may need to sell one decent first team regular per summer to spend under FFP. Probably Lascelles for £20m is more realistic.

Cant see us challenging this rule change but we'll add it to the file alongside all the other stupid changes since the takeover. You pick the battles you really want to win. Something else will be proposed that really hurts and pissed off NUFC/PIF and then we'll wheel out the big legal guns and smash the fucking corrupt PL cartel. This new change id not it, but it will come!
-
The harsh reality is we've failed to score in three of the four games and created very little in those. Cant remember too many shots on target or cleared off the line or excellent saves made by their keepers. Its why it's called the group of death and we've been unlucky with the draw. But especially with injuries. Howe will be hurting but also using this as a steep learning curve to perfect it for next season in Europe. The games have seemed to be slower and less frantic than the PL and we've struggled to impose our identity and game plan against top quality seasoned CL teams.

I understand that and its correct we all have different views. Mine is that I'm not bothered who owns the club as long as they attempt to compete and run it to its maximum potential. SA ownership isn't ideal, but we dont live in an ideal world. In the last 20 years I've seen Man City go from being the 4th biggest club in the North West to completely dominating PL and now winning CL. Over a similar period Chelsea have gone from 4th biggest club in London to winning absolutely everything. I want just a fraction of that success at NUFC! And if PIF deliver that I'll be ecstatic ?
-
Fair enough, you are correct. Each to their own. My way of supporting the team is by being there in person. Cant see the club being that bothered or having any incentive to change things in the short term. It's a sellout each week, 37k members all wanting a ticket and a very captive audience. They may make the odd token change but nothing significant. I'd love the stadium to be like it was early 90s but football is no longer like that and it never will be again in my view unfortunately. We have to accept that the PSG game and Arsenal May 2022 are as good as it gets for these days. And its definitely not just a SJP thing, it's the same all across the PL.

Apologies, I'm not trying to be an arse here, but given the choice between attending the match live and not going at all, you'd happily pick the latter as you cant sit where you want. I sit in the stand with probably the worst atmosphere but it's still 1000 times better than watching it at home or in the pub. Some of the experiences inside the stadium over the last 2 years have been fantastic. Even when sitting in the boring stand with the OAPs ?

The more I think about this the more I'm pissed off with Tolali and maybe Milan depending on what they knew. As soon as we agreed the fee with Milan in June then Tonali should have spoken out about his addiction and allowed the transfer to be cancelled. Instead he allowed us to give his home town club £55m knowing this could become public at any time and it will be Nufc not Milan who will suffer the consequences of his ban once it comes out.
-
In all seriousness I would rather have paid the £25m quoted for Scott McT. PL ready so no bedding in and can score goals at both club and international level. Probably have accepted half the wages of Tonali as well. Howe does seem to like him, so he still may arrive in January. Of course I'm not glad he's banned.

He's a fantastic finisher but his first touch has been poor recently. Never gets it under control properly unlike Isaak. Looks a bit slower this season as well. He's a perfect impact sub for the last 20 minutes if we can get Isaak fit for a decent run.
-
Agreed on Big Joe, but never been that convinced on Tonali except first 20 mins v Villa. Ashworth has said we cant afford to get any of our big money signings wrong and so far we've been spot on. But for £55m we could have done better. That's my view even before the betting situation. Every time he plays the balance of the midfeld changes for the worse. He's clearly a very good player just not right for our style or team.
