All things considered our worst signing from last summer. Elanga and Woltemade are both young enough to come good or get back a decent proportion of their transfer fee, and Ramsey is now showing his class, but Wissa is sunk resale money and is performing like a 40 year old Cisse. Shame as I thought he'd be the most certain signing.

Yes, in the East Stand I heard a few people booing him when subbed. It was definitely the home fans. Probably the same knackers who booed off the team at half time.
-
He's an average PL striker (market value £30m-£40m without an amazing WC?) but a shite midfielder. He's worse in midfield.
-
From memory (and I could be wrong) but he did it twice in the first 20 mins at home to Barcelona.

I don't watch Spanish football but do they still play with their CBs pushed up into the opponents half? If so, we'll murder them on the break in the away leg. Can see us scoring a couple plus a set piece with our height. We can do this.
-
Score once and we will not lose. Score twice and we will definitely win. I'm going a tight 2-0 win.

This is so true 😁. Both Villa and SMB have been significantly out performing their xG all season. Us xG nonces have been saying it will catch up with them by the end of the season. And its happening. We've under performed our xG so hopefully we are to align with ours and climb the table.

Good job we have FFP/PSR/SCR to prevent this type of thing happening!

It's definitely a lot of money, but is it more or less of a piss take than paying 2, 3 or 4 times that to see a live band?

Just realised we've scored in all 10 of our CL games. That's brilliant. At home we've scored 1, 3, 2, 3, 3. Bring it on!

Agreed. Its one thing playing as a CF and constantly losing the ball on the edge of the 18 yard box, but its another thing playing in MF and losing it regularly in the centre circle. A much better team would have punished us loads more tonight. I'm not writing him off just yet but he needs a very good pre season and positive start to next season.

Correct, NR paid NUFC the full 4 year sponsorship up front at the start of the deal, which was used to buy Owen and Luque. The stadium expansion to 52k was funded via securitisation loans/notes, which were repayable in full within 60(?) days of a change in ownership. Hence the FCB spitting his dummy out after he bought us.

Unless Gordon has a full Thierry Henry transformation I'd say we need another CF. Might have to sell Woltemade back to Germany to fund it though.

Win the FA cup!

Our £69m record signing bought as a CF is now playing in MF where we already have six good players to cover three places. Only at Newcastle could this happen 😁.

Great ko time. Under the lights on a Saturday with loads of time for afternoon beers! Should be a great atmosphere.

We can go very near full strength for this and play a weakened team on Tuesday. Although with three GK on the bench last night we dont have loads of rotation options for Tuesday.
-
As Barcelona missed out on Isak last summer, its only fair we give them first option on Gordon for £150m.

Relax. 8pm ko Saturday night, under the lights, on the beers since 2pm. We'll do these!

I don't bet its a mugs game, never placed a bet in my life. Closest I've come is investing in things like ETFs which are way more predictable than individual footy games!
-
Hope I'm wrong but can see a defeat by 2 or 3 goals. We are shit away and couldn't beat Wolves, West Ham, a rock bottom Man U, a crap Villa with 10 men. Spurs will be at us from the off and our defence is crap at the moment.
-
Looking ahead this being a WC year will also fuck with Howe's meticulous pre season planning. How late after the tournament do players arrive back after having a couple of weeks holiday post tournament. We could have maybe 8-12 players at the WC. They'll miss a big chunk of pre season.

Don't disagree with that and I'm that demographic, but we are the one's who can afford it at our stage in life. Mentioned on here before that so far this year I've paid £940 for ST and £415 so far on home cup tickets. Plus it'll be another £65 if we progress past carrier bags. Its bloody expensive for middle aged people on good salaries, never mind yoofs and young uns'.
