It does feel like end of days, the beginning of the end. Last couple of years we've consistently failed to win away at top 10 teams. But we also look vulnerable at home now. We seem stale and are the players still responding to his instructions or of our coaches? We are so easy to play against. Its a 4-3-3 with a flat midfield three playing in a straight line near centre circle. Any half decent manager can work out a system to beat that. Imagine going into an exam where you already know how the questions are to presented and what they are likely to cover at a high level. And all you need to do is a add a bit of detail. That's what its like playing against our 4-3-3 that's been our MO for 95% of games in the last 4.5 years.

That's partly true. FFP was introduced into the PL in 2013 and takeover was 2021. So they knew the rules then for £105m losses over three years. I'm sure there was already some APT rules in operation prior to our takeover, that's before the new rules were rushed through 4 days later.

If the owners are serious about challenging for top honours by 2030, and its not just soundbite bullshit, then Eddie probably needs to win the FA cup and/or secure CL football for next season. Otherwise I think he'll be gone in May. They'll consider phase 1 of the project completed; avoid relegation, win a trophy, qualify for Europe, grow revenues to c£400m, expand the brand. Now its onto phase 2; new training ground, solid stadium plans announced, top 3-4 finish each season, win cups. If they are serious about delivering phase 2, they'll be ruthless and replace Howe with what they consider to be an elite manager with a proven track record of winning things. All just my opinion of course!

Maybe, but we do need a striker who can play into our style of play. That's certainly not Woltemade or Wissa and to my 'no expert eye' it seems as though he can play the Isak role better than those two.

But was it a squad overhaul? We signed six new players, one a reserve GK. I'd say squad overhaul is more Burnley or mackems (seem to buy new team), Bournemouth (lost half a team), and probably some other teams I cant recall. We only started two new players today and that's quite normal.
