  1. I don’t disagree at all, but right now it’s only Osula who Howe has not favoured up top at all.
  2. Yes. All the evidence to how we’ve approached injuries (and what we say about them) points towards this being more serious than lead to believe, rather than him heading off which the evidence says otherwise in how we’ve dealt with things in past. We wanted to keep Wilson, we’ve been desperate for a clear established named striker from word go, whilst a formation change is one thing it’s also with a strong indication that all is not good with Isak rest to have his groin issue magically disappear.
  3. I’d take the head space bit with a massive pinch of salt. All that talk won’t be from Newcastle side, that will be from Liverpool side to the media. Our focus is the clear worse than being leaked injury. Journos then will mix that with the shite they’re getting from Liverpool. Ornstein said other week he has no fucking clue what’s going on, and that’s still the case. We’re keeping things close to our chest because Isak injury fucks is seriously hard.
  4. Just a counter point to last part though, every player has a sale figure. If Isak moved for £150m, it won’t (and shouldn’t) see other players question our ambition. Should just say, if someone pays super high funds, we won’t stand in your way (which is fair). Then taking that £150m and spending £250m from it is the ambition shown. What’s dented us more this summer is the amateur stuff upstairs, and still no news on training ground. That’s the stuff the agent will be chirping up about when talking to their clients about ambition of the club. Finally sorting that out upstairs, nailing a few signings in August (albeit later than planned) is the ambition statement. Then Isak new deal which we have to take gamble on. If he’s injured for 3 months, can understand if the club may be a bit twitchy dishing out £250k a week, but leave it to next summer, he’s off, so some gambles need to be made. Can’t be risk adverse all the time which we have been since Staveley left.
  5. I can understand why we were keen on keeping him on in some capacity. Isak injured and we don’t get a striker till end of August, Wilson would’ve been a reliable head (for Howe) to lead line first two games.
  6. I mean they are at completely different ends of injury scale. Hall had surgery, and building up fitness. Isak hasn’t had surgery and going backwards in his fitness.
  7. They don’t, but it was groin all back end of season that R&R was option over surgery. ‘Thigh’ can be them diverting away from it being same issue, but it’s the inner part that didn’t recover as expected and after pre season started, it’s flared back up. That’s surgery time because no R&R is capable now.
  8. Dammed if we do, dammed if we don’t. Say when Isak doesn’t play at Celtic, it’s because he’s had an injury set back and he could be out for a while, it nips all transfer talk in the bud but puts prices up for a striker we want. Say it’s a minor knock to keep it so it looks like we’re not desperate for a striker, it just adds fuel to likes of Romano to tweet 8 times a day what should be a non-starter of a story.
  9. If he’s injured, there’s no logic to it. He’ll be off to get surgery which would be this side of the world not Asia side. I’d say we’re downplaying it right now because if it comes out he’s out for 3+ months, ANY striker we go for is suddenly top end price because clubs know we are desperate. We have utterly fucked this window from the moment season ended.
  10. People need to calm down about Isak leaving, that’s not the case. What people need to be losing their shit over is yet again another played down ‘minor’ injury which we know won’t be the case. Guy will be going under knife and out for like 3 months.
  11. Which we all knew would be the case. Like the Botman returning early case.
  12. He’s not going because he’s injured. Like why would we slap him on a long haul flight Get him under the knife.
  13. Garnacho for £50m would be my immediate replacement, wages wouldn’t increase, someone adapted to prem and be perfect for our play under Howe, and there’s a future sale to Barcelona / Real Madrid 5 years down the line after he produces.
  14. NOW LETS GET SPENDING Hopefully they come in for August with remit “Fucking swing your bollocks and spend”.
  15. Thigh injury, long haul flight. Can’t see what can go wrong on this shite tour…

    Yoane Wissa

Stuck in the 57000 unread emails at PIF headquarters.

I mean it was fairly obvious that would be the fee based on previous sales by them.
  18. Problem he has though, ACL during season, moves are gone (at least for wages he could get this summer). Likewise, if he ends up being benched, doesn’t play for England, is his stock really that high next summer to command a fee and have likes of Liverpool interested? When there could be a new CB available that’s more appealing.
  19. Doubt we’re waiting around, but a case of a previous target we’ve done loads of ground work on before and have liked, is now more available then before so time to make a move. Just like Etitike.
  20. Trafford, Guehi, Gallagher, Wissa to join Elanga. Proper Prem it up Little continental gems? Fuck them.
  21. Guy wanted to join us last summer, telling every man and his dog he was on his way here and couldn’t wait. If we agree a deal with Palace, we get him. Or Liverpool at worse have to agree and pay more in wages.
  22. It’s can kicking as they still have £1.5bn to keep booking. Can’t sell off women’s team / hotels again, so if clubs stop giving them profits they’re fucked. But here we are them turning a profit on Maduke. Probably get a strong booking value from Tosin / Chalobah. After countless HG last two seasons. Jackson would be a proper piss take if they get a big fee for him, someone that clearly has no path into the side now. But other Prem clubs are thick as shit twats, who will buy out of fear they miss out on that player to someone else, rather than call Chelsea’s bluff and wait till final day and say “here’s £15m or you’ve got him in your u21s till Jan, where we will offer same again”. It’s not like they can loan them all out either as there’s only limited spots.
  23. Cordero? If that can be assigned to him. Wasn’t a fan of the hype some of our fans gave Mitchell based on pick and choosing named transfers of his previous clubs, but he was surely brought in to stretch our £150m budget on players that can have significant sell on / improve the floor. If it was coming out that the main transfers would be Trafford, Elanga and Pedro, all he knew would likely cost near £150m, then what is he supposed to then work with? Just a glorified negotiator at that point which he probably doesn’t like, so best moving on. May have been all rosy from Eddies POV as agreement was there in meetings, but if Mitchell was brought in by Earles to do X, and his job actually is going to a lot less X and predominantly Y, you are going to leave.
  24. Keep forgetting Tosin is there Chalobah, Diasi, Badiashile, Fofana, Tosin. With Gilchrest being moved on (can’t afford space for any youth) and with Horo likely coming in (another CB lol), they’re trying to peddle on the one that gives best book value (Tosin or Chalobah). Fucking hate Chelsea. Sooner the deck of cards collapses, the better. We all know next summer Delap will be available and it pisses me off.
