Squad will have numbers, just it's not the numbers you want when playing in UCL and rotating for league games. Pope: Tino, Schar, Burn, Hall: Tonali, Bruno, Joelinton: Gordon, Isak, Elanga Dubravka: Trippier, Lascelles, Botman, Targett: Miley, Willock, White: Barnes, Osula, Murphy That 2nd XI right now It's doable if you are just bringing 2 of them max (disconting Botman as the 2 as he's a solid player if back to form) into the side, anything more and we're fucked. Get an injury situation like last time when we was in Europe, it's going to hurt us. Rather have some unproven raw players coming into side in that situation where they could break out, instead of Willock, Targett etc. where we know what the crack with them is.

What position with Isak? Who’s to say if he signs that contract in 2024, we’re still here with him linked away with 4 years left instead of 3, because he’s had a 20+ season again. There’s nothing wrong with pulling the contract last summer seeing we wanted to make signings, PSR was a risk still and he had 4 years left. The Isak situation doesn’t change this summer regardless what happened last summer. Edit: If Isak is pissy about the contract, then I don’t believe it one second and it’s deflection from the club. Because if anything he’s in a stronger position this summer to get better terms than he would’ve got last summer if it’s about money / recognition.

Bayern so far refusing to make a third bid for Woltermade. Could we swoop in for him?
-
I like Jackson as a player because he has the skill set you like in a striker. Just he is the type of signing we should be making before he moves to a prem side, and I’d rather not help Chelsea for a player that you can get again elsewhere for a lot less.

Donnarumma contract ends in 2026, and it feels they don’t have a great appetite to extend it (think he’s on a daft amount too).

The only credibility I can give to him moving to Saudi, would be he’s told us he’s not signing a new deal and we’ve told him he’s not moving to a domestic rival. So if he wants out, it’s to Saudi (big money for us) and he can try and force a move then to Europe next summer. That is still less than 0.1% for me.

Have we actually smashed our balls into Man City face by Trafford only wanting to come here? The meltdown though if Man City spend €100m on two Goalkeepers.
-
That’s not really a problem, if the gap to 4th highest reduces a lot compared to what it is now, that’s great. You can win the major trophies / compete by paying wages that Spurs are doing. Yea some stars will move on, but they will at any club. It’s about the signings and nailing them, which we do (nail) but are struggling to do any signings. Like we’re so scared to sign £15m-£20m players.

We won’t sort other said positions unless we pay what the selling club wants. Did for Elanga but that could be due to it seemingly ending up being all or nothing for RW on him, seeing we left Mbuemo very early.
-
That’s the one I thought they would go for when replacing Ederson, but guess it’s a club leak to put pressure on Burnley to reduce a few million.
-
Not having Man City fucked this for us, when we could’ve signed him last summer but didn’t over a few million. Still, had all terms agreed with Trafford for 12 months and end of May once we knew we had UCL, Burnley were up, hammer out the deal. But here we are, 2 months later and we’re blaming Man City, who had done all their transfers prior to CWC when we then had a clean run as it was not a priority position for them. But hey, at least we can stand there all proud as punch over our stance for a few million. Another W for us. Two summers in a row we’re smashing things.

Monday - Nothing Tuesday - Trafford joins Man City Wednesday - Nothing Thursday - 10:45am Bid made for a CB, 10:50am bid rejected, 10:55am we’re considering making 2nd offer Friday - Nothing Saturday - Nothing Sunday - Eddie Howe frustrated post match press conference that the summer upheaval has held us back in transfer, he’s hopeful deals can be made before Sela Cup.

Thought Ruddy was released?

'Dibu' Martinez. Get to fuck Romano.

How is he unproven? He’s played 150+ pro games by age 22. You will find it seriously hard to find many keepers in the world with same amount of games at that age, where they have proven themselves every season. The Prem season is the arguable one which people will focus on, but that you have to caveat was with an awful Burnley where under Kompany the keepers were left exposed. It’s like signing an attacker who’s just had a dip season before because they’ve had a shite manager. I just find it extremely baffling how our logic in market is wanting to sign players who want to join us, then when you’ve got one who’s been saying to people for 12 months they want to come here, we don’t actually sign them. It’s just terrible on the club for whoever is leading on the negotiations.

Jackson would be a wildly awful buy for Man Utd, especially if it meant Garnacho moving the other way.

Pope gets injured, is the GK a glaring weakness?
-
Who has reliable said “Burnley have moved the price”? Or is it just loads of people tweeting about prices they know nothing about. Price was £20m last summer and the main price bandied about this summer is £30m+. The £40m people need to forget that, that’s just the £30m+ because of the Man City sell on. Price hasn’t moved.
-
Guy just wants to do the coaching and crack on. As much as it’s said he wants a say in things, it’s likely not to this level. Probably being drawn into all sorts of shit these past few weeks which he shouldn’t need to be, and the Isak one will be a final kicker. Get some guys in upstairs to help Howe ffs. Think twice over now, he values having a Mitchell / Ashworth above him to sort out all the transfer malarkey.

I’d take the ‘string us along’ with a massive pinch of salt. Goalposts haven’t moved, and will be similar to Brentford with Mbeumo, where the stance was always from early on of £65m guaranteed. Last summer it was £20m for Trafford, we pissed out offering up to £16m and missed out This summer it’s been mostly reported of £30m+ which I would take as guaranteed payment of £30m. We’ve again not got close to that, offering I think from reading between lines of £25m. It’s two summers in a row of offering less than what Burnley have stated, so as much as we want to defend our club, it’s us that haven’t acted in good faith. And that’s fine as we have a right to negotiate, but then it’s our fault when we miss out, not because the goalposts have moved. Which is just local stuff to get ahead of any fallout.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)
Sibierski replied to Miggys First Goal's topic in Football
I know it’s not intended as such, but we need to move away from downplaying Championship quality if the player is excelling at the top 1% of that league. It’s literally like the 6th strongest league in Europe. I have more confidence in players coming from there than Eredivise, and quit a lot of the Portuguese League, and that’s been shown over recent years of the talent that’s been picked up from the championship. -
Earmarked as the future number one, 3 windows later, don’t make the deal happen. Only ourselves to blame, nothing to do with PSR or cartel clubs, just our own incompetence.
