  1. It’s either you sign an out and out striker to replace Wilson, where their minutes is contained to only ST. Which if you are spending a big amount on, is poor business IMO. Or you get a freebie / very low cost. When spending big, you will need them to be able to contribute in other positions to get value. Or it’s a £50m+ player that spends majority of their season on subs bench. Yea it’s depth, but the club in current position wouldn’t be getting value for money.
  2. Osula stepping up as the striker.
  3. Would love to see him develop into a RLC type of player. They’re such unique styles, where keeping fit, can be a huge asset as many teams don’t have that type.
  4. I assumed and still do, that the Pedro signing or someone that can play CAM / ST was always with intention that Longstaff wouldn’t be here come end of August. So a one in one out squad position.
  5. They will have to sell eventually. 22-23: £120m net 23-24: £130m net 24-25: £110m net 25-26: £100m net and going up Like PSR must catch up with them soon? Helps its younger players by large so wages not so excessive, but it’s some spending for near fuck all to show for it bar a miraculous Europa League win. Couple of expensive manager sackings / hirings in there too. Not really anyone that jumps out in their squad that I feel is a move we must make. Maybe Mikey Moore if the first team route is being closed off for him at Spurs.
  6. Spurs likely will present MGW as a new signing before we do with Elanga
  7. MGW yea, but would they really? Bissouma - Bentencur Kudus - MGW - Tel Wissa That much a step up from Bissouma - Bentencur Johnson - Maddison - Odebert Solanke It's fresh names, but output bar not really moved, and it's the same issues they still have in middle of pitch and in defence, with a GK that will throw one in every game. I wouldn't worry about facing them.
  8. Because it's a position that's potentially locked down for 8+ seasons. Long term goalkeeper is key for our progression.
  9. If he was weidly available for same price as Elanga, then yea, we should be all over the deal.
  10. Start of summer, looking at their team I wouldn't had Kudus and MGW as the players they need for a combined £130m+ to improve their limitations. MGW will cost daft money this summer, so should be a non-starter.
  11. There's a reason he's gone from Ajax to West Ham and West Ham to Spurs. Nice sparks about him, but not someone you can have starting majority of your games if you want to compete at the top end.
  12. Would also say, outside of those sales I mentioned, no-one else (bar the GK situation) needs selling this window if Howe doesn’t want a big upheaval (I’d want to get out Targett if there was value in a offer out there). Like Wilson, Longstaff, Willock gone. Is that really such a massive upheaval? When leaders like Burn, Schar, Bruno, Joe etc. all remain. They’re guys that were maybe nice in changing room, but were not part of core XI last season, so it’s no major rocking of the boat.
  13. Hackney is likely going to cost £20m-£25m. Longstaff out for £12m and Hackney in for double that would be good business. He’s someone that has the skill set to take a step up and could breakout, at worse he ends up a useful squad player over coming seasons. Willock you aim to get rid of for £20m+ and bring in an unproven player from Europe, who has big potential but depends on their adaptability to fully realise it. Position we’re in still due to PSR, they are the moves we should be making this summer. Get rid of two CMs that are of no use to us anymore whilst last opportunity to get value is there, and bring in two younger ones on cusp. When you have two of Tonali / Bruno / Joe available, a younger one can be fine in that midfield with the quality elsewhere. Edit: Crucially as well, wage bill would likely remain the same which is as key in current PSR world.
  14. Either him or Willock is 6th choice CM next season (as Miley has to get more minutes). So if he’s 6th choice, is that really worth more than £12m with 12 months left? Probably now need to hope Leeds or someone else make a move for Willock.
  15. We been linked with any CBs recently? That feels a huge position and one we was weakest in last season that saw us drop points. Edit: Forgot Scalvini.
  16. Don’t they also have to sell players from last seasons European squad before they can buy for UEFA FFP rules?
  17. £3m extra really that massive for the gamble? Would say rejecting it is an indication we haven’t got any CM targets lined up right now.
  18. More edge towards 20 instead of 10. Like they were proper shit coming up, this is just potentially nudging them to 20 at best. The outrage from their fans when they start of shit will be jokes. Probably demand manager is sacked and want someone like Ange to push top half as they believe that’s what the squad is.
  19. Everyone to be hungover as fuck and peaked ages ago come kick off
  20. Adringa is a player in there IMO. Gone off the boil last season, but there was a lot in there to play with after his first season when he was in and out of the side. Sunderland seem to be assembling a small side, which may have some good technical aspects but they are going to be dominated physically and that will be a reality shock.
  21. Most of us at that point would’ve had Joelinton high on the list of first to get rid off, and he’s going to be the one last standing and now a key player.
  22. Him and MGW had a great link up when both on the pitch in those roles though, so don’t think it’s hyperbole. Like it’s not going to be natural as it’s not his natural position, but he can be effective in that role.
  23. McAtee signing also makes sense in that he would potentially also be long term cover for RW, so there’s longevity to get a useful squad player out of him for a low fee by Prem standards.
  24. Which is strange because at 2023 Euros, he was superb in the striker role. I do think he does play well there for us, just ends up playing there more often than not when he’s fucked.
  25. Continues the false impression he’s an excellent manager this run. Going to be delightful start of new season and they bottom out.
